I have seen different dentists at this group and you never know what you're going to get. Some are friendly and understanding and some not so much. The staff seemed somewhat unprofessional (gossiping and arguing within earshot). They are cheaper than some other place, but ultimately, you get what you pay for.

There are two reasons why I have given Rose the review I have. Both are based on my experience. I will explain my reason for this in detail below.

1.Estimates may not be anywhere near what you are charged
2.Differences between estimates and actual charges will not be explained

Let me start by saying that my review is based not on the actual work I had done, which was satisfactory, but on the way they handled my fees both from a financial perspective and a customer relations perspective. This is long because I am referring back to my documented correspondence with Rose

I asked for an estimate of my charges well in advance of my appointment. I went to another dentist office for a second estimate. I chose Rose because their estimate was lower. Two days prior to my visit, I asked if the estimate was still accurate based on my insurance. I was assured that it was.

Then I had my procedure. Afterwards, I received a bill for about twice as much as the estimate. I called them and explained the situation. I was told I would receive a call back. That call never came. Instead, I received an email telling me they were looking into it. I suggested I go into the office to discuss it in person and was assured that we could handle everything via email after they discussed it internally.

I then received an email stating that the insurance company didnt cover what Rose thought it would cover. I asked why they didnt contact the insurance company prior to my visit and they said they had and that they had. I then contacted my insurance company. They told me they were not contacted until the day of my procedure. (They clearly keep very clear records of discussions with dental offices.)

They also told me that they nearly always discuss what insurance will/will not cover prior to the procedure. Its a way that the insurance company and dental office can be completely in sync so that there are no surprises for the patient.

I have tried repeatedly to discuss this issue with Rose. My last correspondence was in September, which left me with the impression they were investigating the situation. Last Saturday (6 months later), I received another bill with an additional nearly $100 in late fees. I emailed them yet again for an satisfactory explanation of the fees. I have not received anything in return.

AVOID THIS DENTIST!\r
\r
I will start on a positive note. The dentists were great. For some reason, some of them have left the practice. I would not be surprised if it is due to the incompetent and corrupt behaviour found 'behind the scenes'.\r
\r
I will try to keep this brief.\r
\r
I required an emergency root canal. I was quoted a price of $1100, the majority of which would be covered by our insurance. Great news I thought. After the work was done, I am frogmarched to reception, only to find the bill was now $1500. Bummer. I shrugged this off pretty easily, as we had the money, and I REALLY needed that root canal.\r
\r
That week, my wife had a consultation, and an enormous list of 'essential' work was drawn up. After seeing how much fun I had getting a root canal, she decided to get one too! We were told it would be FULLY COVERED by our policy. In writing, and verbally. \r
$0, great news! The financial co-ordinator even told us there would be enough money left over to start a second root canal! Bonus! \r
\r
A week later my wife goes in for surgery. When she called me CRYING from the dentist office later that day, I assumed it would be because of the pain. But no, turns out the receptionist had bullied my wife, battered and sore from surgery, into paying $900 for that 'free' root canal.\r
\r
I was not pleased.\r
\r
I call that day to figure out this mess. Not one single person in any department could tell me why we were billed. They could not even tell me specifically WHAT was charged. Worse, they could not even assure me that the billing was finished. (""Oh, you may end up owing more, when we get round to figuring it out"". Sorry!"")\r
\r
After to talking to the lady who originally quoted us, I came to the conclusion that she was \r
a) incompetent, and \r
b) lying to me. \r
She even denied her own handwriting!\r
\r
After a WHOLE lot of phone calls, the dentist agreed to credit our account with a measly $500. Great. That means we have to spend it at Rose Dental. Hooray.\r
\r
To add insult to injury, when they finally 'figured out' the bill for my wife's 'free' root canal, it turned out to have been $1400 after all. Thoughtfully, they decided not to embarrass my wife in the reception this time, and they just went ahead and took it out of our account credit.\r
\r
""How could it get any worse?"" I hear you say!\r
\r
Well, after still getting some pain in that dang tooth, my wife decided it would be wise to have them check their work. So she called and asked very clearly:\r
\r
""Will it be FREE for you to check your work? If not, I will go somewhere else""\r
The receptionist says ""Sure thing, you won't pay a penny, come on over!""\r
\r
And guess what greeted her getting out of the chair.\r
Go on, guess. \r
\r
A bill for $25. \r
\r
I just about lost my mind. \r

I had to pay 500 out of pocket to have a partial veneer put in. It has continually broke off. I've had to spend countless hours making appts. and missing work to have this fixed. The dentist there said that it's my teeth. How is that so when the dentist that I went to before I moved down here had fixed it and it stayed for 7 years? It's a drive-thru dentist where they seem to care more about quantity of people coming through rather than quality. I've also left messages for the office mgr. to give me a refund and I haven't received a phone call yet. It's in your best interest not to go to this place.

Cons: Everything about it

BE AWARE!\r
\r
I received poor service from Rose Dental. I had my front crowns replaced by Dr. Lewis, the end result was horrible. The crowns were not the right shade, they were very opaque and too bulky. I had a 2nd opinion and the new dentist confirmed my fears. I asked for a refund and they said they could not give me a refund. Dr. Lewis did offer to replace, but I had lost all confidence in him due to the poor service and quality. After several calls to Rose Dental and certified letters, I have had no response. No where does it state that they have a no refund policy, I checked on their website, their estimate, their receipt and it is also not posted in their office. I've had to pay for new crowns out of pocket in the amount of $3,000. I initially paid $1350 to Rose Dental after my insurance, in good faith. To this day, they have not made it right, and they have failed to make contact. Word of mouth is everything-------Do not make the same mistake I have, this Dental group is second rate and doesn't stand by their work. RUN AWAY
