The Deerbrook location is by far the worst B&N I have ever been to. I am generally one of those people who never complain about poor customer service and I have never even posted a review before, but this situation really bothered me. There was an item that I saw on B&N's website that ended up only being available at the Deerbrook location. When you check whether an item is available, you also end up reserving it for a set amount of days. I wasn't going to be able to drive that far during the week, so I called to ask if the would extend the reservation to the weekend. The first time I called, someone answered, put me on hold for around 5 min., picked up and asked me my name, and then left me on hold for another 15 min., at which point I just hung up and called back. A different voice picked up, and I started explaining how I was on hold for so long, expecting at least a short apology for being put on wait, but he cut me off curtly to ask me what it was that I needed. That was the first straw, as I would have been very forgiving had he just said he was sorry that I was put on hold and ignored for a good 20 min. However, he was able to quickly locate my item and said that he extended the reservation to the date I needed. That made me happy, so I was satisfied. I had a feeling there would be trouble though once I actually got there, and I was right. I went into the store, headed towards customer service, and told them that I was there to pick up something I reserved online. She sent me over to the check-out, where they could not find my item, and the cashier suggested I go to customer service. I told her that I'd already been there and they had sent me to the front. She looked up my item and said that it was only supposed to be reserved until a couple days before the day I was there. I told her about how I called and someone told me the reservation would be extended. First she just started to say that they just might not have it and there wasn't anything she could do, but I must have looked insistent, because she then proceeded to call the manager. He came by after a couple minutes, asking about the situation, and then seemed annoyed when I didn't know the name of who I talked to. I started to explain the being put on hold situation, mostly to emphasize that I wouldn't be happy not getting this item, and he cuts me off just like the person on the phone had! They finally begin to "search" for this item, and it turns out to be in customer service all along. They quickly bag the item for me and I check out. Once I leave the store, I look at my purchase, and it turns out that something that was supposed to be included was noticeably absent, the front page had pen scribbles on it and smudges, and the front cover was a little smudged. I didn't go back and complain because honestly I felt that they wouldn't do anything, and I felt bad for the front desk employee who actually tried to be helpful. The situation itself of the store misplacing the planner really did not bother me so much as the attitude the employees had towards me. When I am a customer and I have been wronged, all I expect is an apology and the effort to remedy the situation, which I did not receive until I forced the issue. I gave 2 stars though because I eventually received what I wanted (albeit slightly damaged), and the front desk cashier was nice about it for the most part. But, this is the first Barnes and Noble location that I will be avoiding from now on.

this place is locatd at the Deerbrook Mall in Humble off 1960 and hwy 59s. they have a STARBUCKS in there!!.. a major point for me. they have every magazine and book that you will ever want to read. its a hot spot by looking at the busyiness of the store. have a entrance to the mall oposite the entrance to the store from outside. so you don't have to go outside and go around.
