It is company policy a credit authorization is signed at the time of arrival when it is not signed prior to the wedding day. As per our wedding contract which available for viewing and downloading from our website, It states that over time rates are at a premium on the wedding day. I rented out a 50 passenger party bus. First i was told $2100 for 5 hours. The next day i was told that the price had been raised to $2600. I agreed with the price and SIGNED THE CONTRACT WITH THEM FOR THAT PRICE. Three days after I drove 20 minutes to drop off a deposit of $500, I received another call from Designer Limousines and I was told that I would have to put down another $3500 as a damage deposit. However this charge was NOT on the contract I had signed 3 days before. I told the receptionist, Joey, that I didn't know I had to put down a damage deposit because it wasn't on the contract that I had signed. So I told her that I wanted to cancel my reservation and get my deposit back. I was then rudely answered and told that all deposits are final even though I was never told about a damage deposit. I then compromised with Joey to let me put down a $400 damage deposit instead. I had to put it down out of my own pocket because I had already told the people that would be on the bus 2 different prices. When I gave the money to the driver, me and him walked through the bus and I pointed out a couple of flaws on the bus to make him aware of them so I wouldn't be charged for it at the end of the night. During the ride someone lit a cigarette but the driver told them not to smoke on the bus and that he would pull over for them to get out and smoke, so the person immediately put it out. Throughout the night, nothing got damaged on the bus. After the party, the driver checked and made sure that nothing was damaged before he left and I was also told nothing was broken from the receptionist when I had called the next day to check up on my damage deposit. However, because someone lit a cigarette my $400 damage deposit cannot be refunded... Not another cigarette was lit after the first incident, but apparently it takes $400 to get rid of the faint smell of cigarette. Every time I would call to talk to Joey, the receptionist i had planned the bus with, I was put on hold for at least 10 minutes until I would hang up and call again...
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR DAMAGES THAT DID NOT OCCUR!

I had specifically asked about this feature at the time of my booking, given that the whole point of a party bus assumes that you will be able to "party" on the bus to the music of your choosing. The driver was unable to get the dock to work, even after trying 2 different ipods, so we were forced to resort to turning the dial between various radio stations to provide music on the bus.
What really distinguishes this company as subpar is not only their defective equipment, but the lack of responsiveness when I called afterwards about the problem. I was told that someone would get back to me, and after 3 follow up calls, I still have yet to get a call back about resolving the issue. Clearly since they were already paid, they have no interest in providing customer service and addressing their inability to deliver the service that I paid for. In addition, to add insult to injury, I was told on one call that the driver had reported back (falsely) that the ipod dock had eventually worked, and therefore, they would have to check again with him. I recently used Designer Limo for a group trip. A group of about 25-30 of my friends and I wanted to go back to our college for our alumni/homecoming football game. We rented one their your buses for a whole day.

Joey helped me through the entire process from start to finish. She helped me find the best bus to fit the group size, with all amenities we wanted (ipod player, drink coolers, bathroom, etc) that would still fit our budget. Usually I find setting up transportation for such a large group to be really stressful and unreliable, but Joey took care of everything and sent me a number of emails personally throughout the process to let me now that all the details were taken care of and was proactive about re-confirming as the date approached to make sure everything was in line. She was extremely accommodating and an absolute joy to work with.

Our driver for the day was also excellent. We had a gentleman named Ernesto. First, we were going to multiple different locations throughout the day and he was totally fine with this and was fully prepared with directions to each location. Second, he was also readily available and easy to get ahold of, all day, whenever we were ready to go somewhere. Ernesto had a great attitude and was happy to cater to us all day.

We will definitely use them again!

I rented a double decker party bus for my 40th B day to take 54 people from Long beach Long Island to Atlantic city in April. With convention ovens( to heat up food) for 10 hours. The trip to AC should of taken us 3 1/2 hours . We left Long beach at 6 pm and we did not get to AC until 12am. Approximately 15 min into our trip the bus had to stop because the air conditioning stopped working. Then the ovens was interfered with the air conditions. So we had to stop the heating of the food. Unfortunately, the bus continued to have problems throughtout the trip. The driver advised me the bus had mechanical issues and the driver was forced to drive at dramatically reduced speeds of 15 to 25 miles per hours for the entire trip to AC. When we got to AC the driver told me he is going to go and get the Bus fix. The trip back home was even worse than the trip to AC. Every hour, the driver was forced to pull over to the side of the road for 20 minutes and we were forced to sit in darkness while the batteries were recharged. We did not arrive back in LB until 8:30 am. We should of been back at 4 am The driver had been driving for 14 hours. I went to the company that morning requesting a refund of only half my cost of the rental. I was trying to be fair as I do recognize the company had to pay for gasoline and drivers salaries but the company needs to compensate me for the failure to adequatly provide the service. The company refused and all they offered as compensation was a free limo ride. THis is completely inadequate given the several thousand dollars that I spent to rent the limo. I file a complain with the BBB and he did not response to the complain. He has a F rating on THE Better Business Bureau. SO I had to take him to small claim court.

We did not arrive back in LB until 8:30 am. We should of been back at 4 am The driver had been driving for 14 hours. I went to the company that morning requesting a refund of only half my cost of the rental. I was trying to be fair as I do recognize the company had to pay for gasoline and drivers salaries but the company needs to compensate me for the failure to adequatly provide the service. The company refused and all they offered as compensation was a free limo ride. THis is completely inadequate given the several thousand dollars that I spent to rent the limo. I file a complain with the BBB and he did not response to the complain. He has a F rating on THE Better Business Bureau. SO I had to take him to small claim court.

Retired and moved to FL. over three years ago, we had planned a trip to Queens to see my daughter, son in law and grandchildren for their 9 year anniversary. Searched sites like this high and low for transportation from the airport since we were not pleased with the company who my daughter contracted for her wedding. Had no where to turn to. Most of the companies had mixed ratings and did not know what to do. After mentioning to a friend that we were visiting N.Y. she recommended this company which she used and was pleased. She had a friend of a friend who worked there. I realized that I had heard of them on this site and they had mixed reviews so I gave them a call on my friends recommendation. I requested the same man but unfortunately was unable to get him as he was on another call. I was quite nervous but decided to go on the first impression that they gave me which was a pleasant one. Dave appeared at our door 25 minutes early to take us on one of the most funfilled, memorable evenings my family and I will always remember. Site seeing was recommended by Dave after the show and we were tired but took him up on his offer. He was fun, energetic and truly a character! He became our tour guide and reaquainted us with the beautiful city at night that we had once dwelled in and moved away from. The experience was wonderful and the two chauffeurs, to my suprise both made our trip a memorable one.

I wanted to call them for the ride back to the airport but my daughter would not let me. She wanted to see us off herself but if she was unable to I certainly would have called them. I used their service for my bachlorette party, and I had a great time !!!!!! The driver Steve was really courteous and he even got their 15 minutes early. I've had bad experiences in the past with other companies, but Designer was nothing but a pleasure. Me & my girls took out the Hummer, and it was such a hot car! I'm definitely going to use them for my wedding!!!!

The staff at their office greeted me before I walked through the door. I saw all of their brand new cars, clean, spotless, no damage. They explained all of their fees up front. The day of my wedding, they were fantastic. I got married in July, and it was very hot out. We were delayed while we were taking our pictures. My photographer was being a pain. I wasn't too happy with the overtime charges, but I knew about them when I signed my contract. I took a chance, and I lost! My overtime dug deep into my pocket, but they worked with me on it. i almost though stellinany was my husband's review, his experience was so similar! they held our best man hostage, the dirty limo stained my dress before the wedding even started (even central park didn't get it as dirty as the limo) and everything else that you can imagine went wrong, did. they didn't know how to drive in manhattan. we were late to our reception (forget even making the cocktail hour) because of wrong turns. my sick, elderly grandfather had to walk 3 blocks because his driver didn't know where the reception was. i could literally go on and on. don't even bother calling, you will be very disappointed.

We booked this company for our wedding in August. One of the Limousines arrived with a cracked windshield and the Mercedes had water on the floor which made my brides dress wet. The driver of the Mercedes took no responsibility firstly blaming my wife for spilling water on the floor (she had none) and then saying she must have stepped in a puddle (difficult as it hadn't rained). However, these were insignificant issues compared to the driver holding us hostage and demanding $1200 for us over running by 20 minutes on the 3 cars. I had no issues with paying the money for 1 car but the drivers of the other 2 cars went over time on purpose with the sole motive of making more money from us. When I said we didn't have the cash on us, they held us hostage and demanded a credit card. We provided them a credit card but they still wouldn't let us go until they received approval from the card company. All of this made us miss our cocktail hour. When I spoke to the management the following day I could tell straight away I was wasting my time. Please do not use this company under any circumstances. I am going to do everything possible to ensure other people do not go through the same experience as my wife and I.
