Overall, the final product is a vast improvement over the original, 30-year old windows and siding we had replaced. With that said, there were a few bumps in the road that were handled without problem (other than causing delays in the work); however, when it came time to install the new siding, the work crew began installing it around the front porch railings instead of behind them as the original siding was. We were told that "they couldn't do that" b/c there wasnt enough room and if we wanted it done that way, the railing where it buts up to the house had to come off. In order to do so, part of the railing had to be broken. At the end of the job, my husband and I tried to negotiate a small decrease in the balance we owed since it was going to cost us $ to repair/replace the railing. We were told no, that the work crew actually installed trim on a shed window we never asked for for free (an $85 value), so really we already got something for free/at a discount. I should mention that to put the siding on the back of the house, the crew had to detach part of the deck, and that was taken off and put back on with no problem... So, anyways, they did clean up most of their mess (and there was a TON - we have permanent divots left in the street in front of our house from the lovely dumpster that sat there for the better part of a week as proof), although every time I go outside, I still pick up huge nails and sharp pieces of aluminum out of the yard (which wouldnt be a huge deal if we didnt have three dogs), and we are still waiting for someone to come out and take care of the punch list, which includes removing the trim from the shed door (again, did not ask for this, and wasn't charged, which would have been awesome had the trim worked out) that CANNOT be closed because the trim is in the way, so, in the meantime, our shed is being kept closed by a brick leaning against the door. The work crew was very prompt, in fact, they were often there 10-15 minutes early, and other than about 30 mins at lunch, they seemed to be very hardworking. They were also very nice. But, on the downside, no one communicated with us ever, about anything... my husband and I would go outside every couple of hours just to touch base and check on things. Most days they were out of there by 4:15 (which seemed a little early considering our other point-of-contact at the company said they would probably work later), and when they did leave, they just left, there was no, "We're headed out, this is what we've done, this is what we plan to do tomorrow, etc," which is a little disconcerting considering there had already been a couple of issues that required ordering new trim, etc, and, ultimatey, we're spending close to $30,000 to have this work done, and done right. Yes, the job was done. Yes, it does look so much better than the original windows and siding. But the process getting there was, at times, trying, and I can't help but have a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. (My husband and I still have to get the railings on the house before our HOA comes knocking, and we got a quote from a neighborhood handyman for $1000 [which would include patching the brick porch the railing is attached to], BUT we just spent nearly $30,000 on the rest of the work, so our pockets are a little empty. Merry Christmas.) Yea, I'm just glad the whole process is over.

Overall, the experience was a great one and I would recommend this company to anyone looking for windows and doors.we had received numerous proposals from other contractors, and found EcoStar's price to be very reasonable. I strongly recommend EcoStar Remodeling, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent. The owner himself came to do the estimate and was low pressage and easy to deal with. The man that came to do the followup was on time and didn't take any time at all to check the measurements. The crew chief arrived before the crew on the scheduled day and I was able to leave on time for work. When I came home for lunch the work was completed and everything was cleaned up. It was difficult to even tell they had been there other then I had new vinyl windows! The price was very competitive and was well under others. The windows are high quality and qualified for the energy tax rebate. Very happy with the experience.
