I went to the west hollywood location and was treated very poorly as I came in my non-flashy daily driver. I could not get the owner Elie to focus and give me the time of day.\r
\r
I came back with my Ferrari and Elie and other worker were all over my nuts. They tried to charge me triple the cost of three other places I went to. I've read all their bad and horrible reviews but wanted to give them a try. I would NEVER give them my money and time of day. I warn people to stay away from this place.

I had a job done at their Lawndale branch.
They were late and wired the 4 channel Class D amplifier wrong, so I ended up with blown Infinity kappa perfect tweeters.

I called West Hollywood branch, I was told they would fix the error at no charge , but when I got there , I was asked for 500.

I was willing to pay to get over with , but they still did not want to do it , since they said they are not comfortable with not using analog crossovers - I explained to them that the cross-overs were DSP and built in to the head unit.

These incompetent charlatans wanted to charge me 500 for the mistake another branch made, I wanted to go to West Hollywood branch since the guy who burned my tweeters, Tito Vega , was a moron , and the store manager over there is a jerk , he did not issue a refund for their mistake

the bottom line is that the charlatans at the West Hollywood branch wanted 500 for something I ended up having done at Best Buy for 140 !!

Be aware , Al and Ed's are way overpriced , totally incompetent when it comes to high end units with DSP cross-overs and no external analog crossovers

It looked to my that all they know is 4 channel amp with analog crossover for component speakers and a subwoofer

My unit is AVH-P7800 DVD Pioneer

I have built my company on customer service. So, I'm a stickler for it. I'm almost never satisfied with the customer service that I receive from other businesses. Im always disappointed. Back in July, I had Elie completely go over my red Tesla Roadster. I have never been MORE satisfied with the quality of the product, the service and the attentive customer service that I received. I really cant say enough about Elie and the service I received. Everything about the whole experience was superb.

The items I had put in were the stereo package, amplified antenna, audiophile system, bespoke black and saddle leather interior with tan stitching, black perforated leather with black Alcantara put on the steering wheel, floor mats with the Tesla logo, the carbon fiber door sills, ceramic tint to the windows, 2 glove box doors, the rear tail light surrounds painted the body color, an iPod cover and finally, the inside of the hardtop covered in Alcantara.

The leather included the dashboard, complete coverage of the doors, the rear wall, and the seats. All of it was beautifully, perfectly done. The sound system and it's reception is incredible. I drove the car up to the Menlo Park Tesla dealer and had a crowd of Tesla employees listening, dumbstruck, to the sound system. Its that good. And I hardly ever plug the sound system in to be charged.

The navigation system is better and easier to use than any OEM system in any car that I have ever owned. And that goes back to my first navigation system in a BMW 7 series back in 1997.

If you are unhappy with the interior of your Tesla or the sound or navigation system, I urge you to speak with Elie. He really, really knows what hes doing. Ive never been happier with any companys product or service and Im sure you will be too.

Thanks Elie,
Ron Elliott

Pros: Very complex installation was beautifully done

Cons: Can't think of any.

On the second day I owned my car I took it to Al & Ed's in West Hollywood to have a new stereo installed. They did a great job on an install in my Smart and after Eli Rothstein, the franchise owner, walked me through the shop and showed me the custom work being done on a Rolls Royce, I was comfortable with my choice. I could not have been more wrong.

When I went to pick up the car the first thing I noticed was the installation looked marginally better than if it was taped in with duct tape. Gaps could be seen around the plastic fascia, which not only did not match the leather and wood of the dashboard, but was not glued in place. The unit itself was sold an installed without any thought given to the angel of the dashboard, and accordingly, looked out of place. I was also told for the first time that the 6 disk changer they left in the car was now inoperable. This was troubling, but not half as troubling as finding out the sound for the navigation system was no longer integrated with the stereo system and the dashboard was not properly reassembled.

As Elie sat in the car showing me how to operate the poorly installed system, I asked him whether he would believed the work to be representative of the shop. Whether he would be proud to show it. He would not answer the question. Instead, he kept saying I must be happy.

I had to be at a meeting, so I got in my sawdust covered car (the dust from fabrication settled on my car throughout the day) and took off. Elie offered to repair the job, but with dissatisfaction growing every time I looked at the dashboard, I could not bring myself to return.

They did great work for me before and I've seen evidence of other good work, but after this experience, I have to say engaging them for work is a gamble.

Pros: great service if they like your car

Cons: uncertain quality in installations, very expensive

They tried to charge me $2000 for an install that I got somewhere else for $750. They charge way too much because they are close to Beverly Hills and can get away with it. Luckily I did a little bit of research and found they are really overcharging people.

Clerk was helping a guy that probably looked like he had money to spend. I don't dress like money, but I was looking to spend quite a bit. (Not that that should matter.) It's a small store - I was standing four feet from the clerk and he just outright ignored me, looked me over and pretended like I hadn't walked in. I waited five minutes thinking he must not be the clerk at all - then finally walked out. \r

Their loss!
