Starting out, my dogs were already extremely well-behaved. I have always done treat-training, and had always been adverse to any form of "collar training". It became very clear to me, however, after working 9 years with my Spaniel/Collie

Wonderful experience for me and my 9 month old maltipoo. He was destructive, obnoxious and always finding trouble. After an extensive search for a qualified trainer, I ended up with Immersion Board and Train with Troy and Shelly from Sit

Great experience at Sit Means Sit, Austin, TX. I'm currently working with Danielle to train my one year old German Shepherd. I am amazed at how fast she is learning and progressing after just four lessons. It's been a fun experience for my dog and I and it's so rewarding when people tell me how well behaved she is.

Yes, If you are enjoying pulling your owner along by the leash, then he needs to let you drag him in the direction of Sit Means Sit! You will be surprised at how quickly your life will change and how calm and enjoyable a walk can really be. Who knows, there may be treats included! Seriously, these guys know what they are doing and do it so well. Don't waste your time and money any place else!

I had a barking lab (Calcite) and a bolting beagle (Zoe). We have never been able to take them anywhere because of the barking and running away. Now I'm the one in control. Shelly taught us how to get our dogs attention and to keep it.

I also love the different intensities on the collar. Calcite works at a 5 or 6, Zoe trains at a one. In fact, Zoe use to shake when we put her collar on. Shelly taught us how to get her over that and now she wags her tail when the collar comes out. There is nothing hot dogs won't fix!

Zoe comes the first time you call her and Calcite is much better about barking. At least now I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel. Each time she barks, we have a system in place to distract her from that behavior. It is taking practice but I see improvement with each session, both during training and at home during our practice sessions.

These folks love the dogs they work with and are fantastic problem solvers. All dogs are different and they have a plan to fix whatever is going on with your canine(s).

Client support is fantastic. They want you happy and will do whatever it takes to make sure you get what you asked for. You tell them what your needs are and they will meet them.

My 9 month old Boxer puppy and I were really butting heads, I wanted him to listen and he didn't want to. He was really pushing the bounderies with me and I didn't know how to control it. We signed up with Sit means Sit about 2 months ago and I could tell a difference after the first lesson. My puppy is still a goofy fun puppy but with manners! He is better trained than all of my friends older dogs that should know better by now. Life is easier and more peaceful with a well trained dog. Every penny spent was well worth it and I'll do it again if I get another dog. Thanks so much Sit Means Sit for helping me "like" my dog even more!

I decided to try Sit Means Sit when I bought my first dog. My husband and I initially tried PetSmart puppy classes, but decided that it wasn't as effective as we wanted. We wanted to be able to take Lexi anywhere with us and have her not be a nuisance around other people or dogs. Before Sit Means Sit, I would literally have to drag Lexi on walks. She didn't listen very well, and obeyed when and if she wanted to! After Sit Means Sit, Lexi is a great listener. She is such a pleasure and great on walks. At only 7 months old, she is so much more well behaved than any of my friends' dogs who are much older! Thank you, Troy and Shelly!!!!

Sadie is a typically stubborn Great Pyrenees. She used to jump up to greet people she likes, pull me on leash and determine where we would go on walks and bark incessantly whenever she would hear an odd sound.

Now she is highly cooperative dog who does not jump up, 'heels' on command and barks once only to let me know she has heard something unusual, then stops. That's after less than 3 weeks of training.

Life is much more pleasant for both of us now. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit!

I have a 1 year old lab that is now behaving like a pro. I am able to take my dog anywhere and I am sure she do what I need her to do. Lola is a happy dog and I am a happier dog owner. I recommend Sit means Sit!

As a life long dog lover and owner, I've trained many dogs over the years. As an animal shelter volunteer trainer, I've come to realize that the key to having a strong life-long bond with your dog is dependent upon there being a high level of communication. In short, the dog needs to understand what you want him to do and then do it, despite any outside distractions.

I met Troy at the Pecan Festival in Austin, and I was impressed by the level of attention that he was able to maintain in his dogs. (Even off lead). After meeting with Troy and introducing our German Shepherd "Kobe" to him, it was a "no brainer" to decide to put Kobe into the program. I should say that I'd been training kobe from the time he was 10 weeks old. He was solid in basic obedience, and also knew more than a few tricks. We really had no complaints... My goal was to take a good dog, and make him great!

Kobe is now about 11 months old, and we have been using Sit Means Sit's program for about 2 months. I can take kobe into a crowded park off lead, work him around kids and other dogs with absolutely no concern for his safety or the safety of others. It's uncanny, it's like he is an extension of my arm, from across a ball park! I could not be more happy with his progress, and I fully expect that he will continue to advance in terms of what he's able to do and understand. And the best part is that he's happy, and can't wait for our training sessions. I would recommend Troy and his company without reservation to anyone looking to improve the human-canine bond!

Troy- From one dog person to another, thanks for your support and guidance in taking Kobe to the next level!

Sit Means Sit is amazing! The work they've done with my pit bull, Bandit, has been miraculous. Before Bandit started training with Troy, he was shy and fearful of other dogs. He also had anxiety problems when I would leave the room and would start chewing into anything, including the dry wall. His anxiety didn't stop there. We couldn't even take him outside without him being anxious and fearful of leaving his "home".

With the four training sessions that Bandit has undergone, he's had a complete 180 turn around. He's able to go on the balcony without going crazy; barking, trying to jump over the balcony or trying to attack dogs that walk too close to the balcony.

His anxiety is still present, but we're all able to leave the house without worrying about anything being chewed up. It's a work in progress with him, but we are happy with his progress because we can take him on walks with leashes, we can let him roam on our balcony and we can let him be around other dogs.

Buddy my 6 year old great white pyrenees, had issues, if he got the oportunity to get out he was gone, and he didn't come back until he was good and ready. if you could find him he would run from you. and his favorite thing to do was stand in the middle of the street, just to see that terified look on your face when a car came by. and his other issue- don't touch my feet or i will bite you, and don't even think about trimming my nails. he need traiing on lots more. when you're 150lbs of dog its easy to get to be the one in charge. after trying all kinds of things from invisible fencing, installing gates, reading books, and a couple of surgeries to remove du claws. adn going through 10 groomers who all now refused to shave or trim his nails. i finally refered to dog training and this one seemed the most humane, friendly and offered up exactly what i needed. i must say i was surprised- on my first raining when buddy placed on top of a picnic table. i was impressed. buddy was a fast learner and has done amazingly well. and he is happy to boot. he has only gotten out once, he now understands to stay in the yard, and when he did get out i found him next door, told him to stay, walked up and walked him home, it's only been a short time and we are still working on the feet issue but have come allong way. we now make regular trips to lowes to walk around and he goes almost every whee with me i can take him. Troy has been wonderful., his follow up and compation for his training is amazing. he truly knows what customer service is and is there for you 100%. due to the extreme heat we have ot attended as many park lessons as i have wanted but we will be there in the fall and will continue our training with Troy for life. he has made buddy and i both safer and happier.

We have a very stubborn and naughty 18 month old Ridgeback . She wouldn't listen, wouldn't learn new commands, and was all around pretty naughty. We met Troy and his wife of Sit Means Sit at the Pecan Street Festival in May and saw their display of perfectly trained dogs. Troy offered a consultation and said he could show us how he could get our puppy to behave. I am not gonna lie, I thought- Yeah right she won't listen to anyone!!
1 month later- I can take her for walks, she listens, she sits, lays, heels, goes to her designated "places" when told, and has done an amazing 180 degree transformation! Sit Means Sit does follow up lessons and group classes after a board and train so we humans can keep on track with our pups!
I absolutely recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone with a new or old dog! Whether you don't know how to train (that was me) or your pup isn't grasping the concepts of good animal behavior (me again) this program is amazing and will help you and your pet feel happy and comfortable!!
I am so very very very happy with the program and follow ups! I love taking the puppy for walks and it is nice to finally ENJOY her! I can't thank Sit Means Sit enough for the amazing job they have done!! Thank You Thank You Thank You!!

Sit Means Sit has done wonders for Gerty (6 yrd old Boxer mix) since starting a few weeks ago. In 3 private, 1 hour sessions Gerty is actually listening to me when I give a command and doing what she's told. Imagine that! Last weekend she even walked off leash around Town Lake and at the dog park. She didn't run off. She didn't attack another dog. Crazy! Who is this dog!?!? She seems very happy and Troy and Shelly are great to work with. I can't thank them enough and look forward to starting our group classes this week.

I am so excited to have found Sit Means Sit Austin! Troy and Shelly are AWESOME and they have helped make a huge difference in the behavior of our crazy dog! Let me tell you about it...

Crazy Dog - Before
Eva, our 1 1/2 year old, 85 lb princess is part lab, boxer and pit. She's super friendly and hyper, jumping all over people and p...laying very aggressively with dogs. When on a leash, she will drag me along for miles pulling my shoulder right out of the socket. She scares other walkers and dogs as she pulls me toward them ferociously barking.

Sweet Dog - After
We're two weeks into the program. On walks she stays at my side, sits before crossings roads, and totally ignores other dogs that are barking at her! She'll even sit as other dogs come near her, waiting for my command. We introduced her to Troy's dogs at the park yesterday and played very friendly and appropriately with both dogs - which was amazing to watch with Troy's puppy.

We still have more work to do, but the progress we've made in two weeks has been amazing! If Sit Means Sit Austin can work for Eva, it'll work for any dog! Watch some of Troy's videos and give him a call. It'll make a huge difference in very little time!

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Not me! Our dog is almost 8 years old and until his Sit Means Sit training, we could not take him off leash ANYWHERE. He's a healer, and likes to run. Now that he's had training, we are able to take him on walks on the greenbelt (anywhere acutally) OFF LEASH and not only is he much more well behaved, he enjoys his time out a lot more. Thank you Sit Means Sit for helping us find a training program that is not only effective, but that my dog enjoys and is beneficial to our entire family.

Sit Means Sit is the only way to train your dog. They were able to take my dog from a crazy pound puppy to the best behaved dog at the park, in only a month. Cam was the kind of hyper dog who would jump on everyone and lunge at the sight of another dog. Now I can take her anywhere without a leash in full confidence. I recommend this training to everyone with a dog, whether its young or old.

My beautiful big Tank is a pretty well behaved dog already, having gotten his Good Citizen's Certification and a few other beginner training courses. I still wanted to get him obedient enough that I could have him off leash at dog parks or in any situation and still have a happy and safe dog. Not even 5 minutes after we began training with Troy of Sit Means Sit, my dog was acting more excited and listening more intently. It was instant gratification.

This program, as with any dog training, takes a lot of focus and commitment from the owner, not just the dog. But after just a few sessions, I can already tell is is worth it.
