Where to begin...this dealership sold me a vehicle in 2008. Less than a month later I had to pay for $650 in service. At the time of sale they persuaded me to purchase an extended warranty that would cover any problems with the vehicle once the manufacturer warranty expired. The 7 year/100,000 mile extended warranty they sold me for $2,000 was through a company that is now bankrupt. I had to find this out the hard way in 2012 when I needed to replace an expensive part that was a covered component per the warranty agreement. The warranty company and Freeman Motor are both flagged now by the Better Business Bureau for their fraudulent business practices. Please don't give them your business. There is a reason that they are able to offer luxury vehicles at a lower price than what you would find at a manufacturer dealership; the vehicles have problems that are expensive to fix regardless of how timely your routine maintenance schedule and checks are. I made my best attempt to work with Freeman Motor to rectify the situation going into their showroom and speaking with them, but they have no interest in resolving the matter or following through on their guarantees.

I have purchased 3 cars here over the last few years from Freeman Motors: an E430 Mercedes, an E500 Sport Mercedes and a Porsche Carrera. I have had nothing but great experiences with this car company, their cars and it's employees and have sent many friends to purchase cars here - which everyone has done. The selection and prices are unbeatable, as is the no pressure environment. Just sent my friend Timm in and he bought a nice Range Rover. I will be back

LEMONS! Was told car passed their multi-point inspection only to find out 2 weeks later car needed new tires, alignment, brakes, and blower motor. Tried contacting Freeman about it and they just hung up the phone on me. WORST DEALER EVER!

I traded in two cars for two new cars at the beginning of 2011. My experience was the best auto buying situation I have ever encountered in my 36 years of buying vehicles. Eric Freeman and his staff were professional, efficient, honest, and they had excellent upscale inventory. I would highly recommend Freeman Motor Company. They make sure you are satisfied and made things right for me, even after the sale. It's smart business to have this approach, creating long term customers like myself. I would highly recommend them.

We've recently bought a 2009 Mercedes from Freeman Motors and would like to share our experience. We are seniors so between us have lots of car buying experience. Usually it has been less than great fun what with the games dealers play, etc...

I had heard from a close friend about a dealer on Macadam Ave. that had a somewhat different business model and who specialized in German autos so decided to check him out.

The first visit was with my friend last Spring and I was surprised that most of the inventory, about 60 cars, was inside under cover and very well lighted.

Second surprise was that no one followed us around asking "are you ready to buy?" Instead, we were simply greeted and told if we had any questions, to please ask.

I was impressed with the cleanliness and overall quality, not to mention what seemed like good pricing. A very good selection of Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW and a few others.

Not having an immediate need for a car at that time , we left.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when it became time to replace my wife's Honda CR-V, so we started looking for a new one, having had mostly Hondas for the past 20 years. I contacted a few dealers, got a lot of runaround, especially from Wilsonville Honda, so as I was wandering around town one day decided to swing by Freeman's to see if they had anything interesting. Sure enough, I found a 2009 Mercedes C300 at a very affordable price that looked new.

Never imagining Susan would every consider anything besides Honda I asked her to go to Freeman and check this nice little sedan out. She did and right after, called me and said she was "head over heels" with the car. I went down the next day, contacted Bill Michener and after a brief negotiation purchased the car. Bill never put any pressure on, just gave me the keys and let me take it for a test drive.

I also had called Dennis at Freeman's service facility to find out about their capabilities just to make sure our car would have a "home". He represented Freeman very well and I will use this facility as needed. They have 6 technicians and go thru each car before it's put on the display floor.

If our experience so far is any indication, we are looking forward to a great relationship with Eric Freeman and his crew.

This dealership sold us a car that should have been donated to someone for free. It was breaking down within months of our purchase and they did nothing but rack up Service Department revenue as a result. The owner, Eric, is great at making his crappy broke down car inventory feel like your bad luck. Do yourself a favor: if you are looking for a luxury German car, don't go to Freeman. We just traded in our car from their dealership for another from a huge Portland dealership and are already excited for the day when we can look back and laugh at our horrific experience at Freeman Motor Company.

I had a terrible experience with Freeman and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. The owner, Eric, is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.

Pros: Good car selection and no pressure browsing

Cons: Unprofessional and disorganized staff

Bottom line: I would never recommended this dealership to anyone. There are plenty of other places in Portland and I wish I had gone elsewhere.

We bought our Mercedes S430 1 year ago. We love it & have had no problems. It only had 52K miles & still drives like new. We nearly bought the same model, year & color with 153K miles from another dealer for the same price! Marshall was great to work with & we will definitely be back. I recommend Freeman to all my friends & relatives.

Pros: Indoor showroom & wide selection of Euro Cars

Cons: Their cars can sell fast, you snooze, you lose

Bought my last 4 cars here, all late model Mercedes; S500, AMG CLK, E430, 450SL. I have never had an issue with taking the cars to a shop for checks. I now have over 25K on the S500 with only oil and tires. Test drove a half dozen other BMW, MB and Audi while deciding and Freeman never pushed for closure. Every buying experience was a pleasure from walking in the door to driving off the lot. Freeman Motors is THE place to go to check out used but good quality European vehicles.

What a pleasure to buy a car from them! The staff is incredibly courteous and professional! Once we selected our Mercedes SLK from their indoor showroom, the paperwork was ready immediately. No waiting, no hassles, no pressure! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great car and a buying experience that is unsurpassed!

I would highly recommend Freeman Motor Company. I am from out of state and took the train to pick up my car - Eric Freeman picked me up from the train station on a day when the dealership was closed to pick up my car! Great customer service as well as a nice car at a fair price. I will definitely recommend Freeman Motor Company and will come back as a repeat customer.

My husband and I have purchased our last three cars from Freeman Motors. They have the best values in Portland: great cars and low prices. The sales people are helpful, patient and relaxed because the cars sell themselves. We've always had a truly no pressure, fun experience. Dustin is awesome!

I purchased a 2003 Mini Cooper S from Freeman Motor Co., and it was the best buying experience ever. They gave me and my two friends Starbucks cards, and when we returned, all the paperwork was ready to go. We had a flat tire on the way home, and Eric Freeman paid for the repairs. I'd recommend them to everyone! It was a great experience, and the indoor showroom just made it even better!

I purchased a Porsche 911 Cabriolet from Freeman about a month ago. I have to say, it was one of the best experiences buying a car I've ever had. I hate shopping for cars and the pressure from sales people. Freeman didn't have any of that. A big plus was the huge indoor showroom. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

It's hard to find a car dealer that says what he means and means what he says. Eric Freeman and his staff and Freeman Motor are the real thing - a throwback to the days when you could go on a guy's handshake and his word. I had a complicated transaction which included shipping a car, sight unseen, to the east coast. Eric gave me his word on a few things and when I needed to ask him to step in and make something right, he did so without hesitation. The car was, and is, fantastic. I'd buy another from these guys in a heartbeat.

Pros: Honest guys, genuinely want customers to be happy

Cons: 3,000 miles away from me here in New York

The guys at Freeman motors were so helpful and they were able to answer all my questions, and I had a lot! I've had so many unsatisfying experiences with other car dealerships and Freeman motors were able to change that with their prompt courtesy, being friendly, and being so informative. They are the best!

I bought a gently used car with low miles from Freeman recently. I had shopped around a lot both at other dealerships (where a lot of my time was wasted) and online, and knew exactly what I needed to pay for this car. My experience couldn't have been easier and more low-key. I found it online listed at Freeman and went over to test drive it. I really only made a half-hearted attempt to bargain the price down, as the first price given was an awesome deal and I knew it. I dealt with one person only--Marshall--and was so happy to see that we didn't have to play the usual dealer games of back and forth, talking to three managers, wearing the customer down, etc. My husband and I would go back in a heartbeat to shop again, but we have such a great car, it'll be awhile!

I needed a car fast but I didn't want the hassle that goes with the typical process. I stopped into Freeman on recommendation from a friend and felt immediately at ease. There was a nice selection but not so many I felt overwhlemed. The prices were so good it was actually FUN to shop! The salesman was chill and let me take my time. I didn't know much about Saabs but he provided good information -- to my surprise I was more pleased in the following days--the car drives like a DREAM!! Now I love SAABS!! :)

"When I first decided to purchase a Mercedes SL500, I made a careful study of all cars in the Oregon/Washington areas reviewing Craig's List, local newspapers and dealer websites. By far Freeman Motor Company had the best value for my money. All comparable SL500s for sale in the area were $3000 more than the price I paid and had at least 30,000 more miles on the odometer. The car I purhcased from Freeman Motors is a low mileage, well cared for Mercedes and I don't think I could have found a nicer one, particularly for the price I paid." - Jesse B.

Cons: Was willing to make the drive to SW Portland for the deal!

Purchased a Jaguar on June 10, 2008 via EBay from Freeman Motors. Clean deal and honest salesman, Marshall, did a walk around on the phone regarding condition of car prior to purchase. Gave an accurate description of all issues. Bought our first car this way and very pleased with the deal, salesman and the car. We love our Jaguar.

I have visited both Freeman locations several times over the past couple of years. I do appreciate that Freeman lets you shop without high pressure salesman bugging you while your looking but I have also come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for and Freeman is not in the market of selling top quality cars. I test drove several cars for sale at Freeman that needed significant work to be up to what I consider to be acceptable quality. Sure they have good prices but do you really want to skimp when buying a high priced luxury car? Do yourself a favor and have a professional inspection done prior to buying your car if you're considering Freeman...it's just common sense in my book. I have called several mechanics around town and the going rate for a decent inspection seems to be about $150. Seems like cheap insurance to me!! Make sure to hire an inspector that checks the cars mechanics and the cars frame to make sure the car was not involved in a prior accident. I have been warned that you can't trust Carfax reports to be 100% accurate so it's best to have the frame inspected in addition to the mechanics. Just my two cents....

I recently purchased a 2000 Volvo V70SE from Freeman Motors and had another great experience. This is the second car I have purchased from them. They sell high quality European cars at wholesale prices. The entire experience is very informal and relaxed and I was very satisfied with the car and the deal. Well worth my 4 hour round trip to find a great car!! Keep up the great work!

I purchased an Audi A4 from Freeman Motor Company in March 2007 from the Bend location. My car is beautiful and I got an excellent deal on it. I love this car. It is in excellent condition and has low miles. I had the car checked out pre-sale by an Audi mechanic who gave the car rave reviews. I could not have gotten a better deal anywhere else. Even private owners were asking higher prices for the same car. The staff were very professional, friendly, and honest. They did not pressure me in any way, and were patient with me throughout the entire loan process. I would recommend Freeman Motor company to any of my family or friends.

I had never purchased from Freeman Motor Company before but found the exact vehicle (2003 BMW 325iT) I wanted with low miles on their website. The whole experience was low key, easy and straightforward. Pricing was excellent, advice on mechanics and pre-purchase inspection was helpful, and the salesperson was simply a nice young guy who loved cars.

I've had the car for about 2 months and couldn't be more pleased.

The next time I'm in the market for a gently used luxury car, I'll go right back to Freeman. And I'll refer friends and colleagues to them as well. I think the comments of buyers who keep coming back to Freeman speak volumes.

I had never purchased from Freeman Motor Company before but found the exact vehicle (2003 BMW 325iT) I wanted with low miles on their website. The whole experience was low key, easy and straightforward. When purchasing a car you look for 3 things: the right car, at the right price, from the right dealer. Freeman Motors earns 5 stars in each of these categories. I was quite impressed by their selection and prices on used European luxury vehicles. Eric and Marshall are champs. In the short time since purchasing my car from them, I have referred several people and they too were impressed. Honestly, if you are in the market for a European vehicle, see for yourself, you will be impressed.

I'm a college student just starting out pre-med and needed a reliable car. I just happened to be driving by Freeman Motors and stopped in. Everyone was so willing to help me find not only a good car, but were interested in trying to find a good price. I had no credit due to young age and they worked for a long time trying to find a bank for me to get a loan from. The salesmen are very knowledgeable and friendly. I have recommended many people to go here, including my brother and his wife who recently had a baby. The next time I need a car I will be going there!

Pros: The service was excellent

My husband and I were so impressed by the selection and service at Freeman Motor Co. We are from eastern Oregon, saw a car that we liked online, we were only in town for one day and they happened to be closed. We called their service department and they accomadated us, the owner even came in to do our paper work! I have read other reviews about not being able to take the car to a mechanic, I am not sure if that is true, but for us it was not needed! Their mechanic inspected the car with my husband, put it up in the air and checked everything. The mechanic found a small leak (due to basic wear and tear), he pointed it out to us and said they would fix it! I am so thankful, my car was a great deal! We will definitely go back to Freeman Motor Co. to purchase our next car!

I had a great car-buying experience and would highly recommend Freeman Motor Company to friends and family. No-pressure sales, great selection of cars and fairly priced! I also found their web-site to be very helpful. I was able to view their selection and see the details about each car before ever stepping foot on the lot. It was an enjoyable experience!

My son found this car on the internet. The deal seemed too good to be true. It seemed like a great deal and the car looked to be in great condition but really, without your mechanic there-how do you know? Well, our mechanic was totally jealous that we found such a great car for such a low price! It checked out with nothing wrong but 1 bulb needed replacing. There was no pressure, no going back and forth. We will absolutely go to their website first if we are ever in need of another car. Highly recommended from this family!

I came in on a thursday when they were ready to close, they stayed late even though I told them I wasn't ready to buy. I brought my wife back the following Saturday and bought a Saab that I have never been happier with. I have had only two problems with the car, and both have been resolved by Freeman. Great Customer service and a great Staff.

I've never had a car-buying experience like this! I didn't receive ANY pressure from the salesman to purchase a car. I was able to browse their selection on-line before ever setting foot on their lot. There website is so complete, you are able to get a good feel for the vehicles before you ever visit their showroom. The prices are fabulous and they are posted on the vehicles! It was the easiest car-buying experience ever and I would highly recommend Freeman Motor Company to my friends and family!

I've purchased two fine vehicles from Freeman in the past two years and I will continue to be a repeat customer. I also highly recommend Freeman to anyone I've run into that is looking to purchase a fine automobile. Their staff is consistent, I've witnessed very low, if any turnover whatsoever. Their finance department has done an excellent job of delivering on what they've promised every time. The Freeman website is also outstanding. I can get a good feel for a vehicle due to the number of photos they provide and I'm able to narrow my search down considerably when I decide to go in for a test drive. Finally, I want to comment that their prices are absolutely rock bottom for the quality that is offered there.

We bought a car from David and the owner of Freeman Motors over in Bend Oregon and they where great to work with. They kept their word and went the extra mile to make me a happy customer. Would I go back? YES!

I highly recommend Freeman Motor company. We have had 5 transactions with them so far, and we're looking forward to doing more business with them in the future. With the amount of miles I drive each year, it just doesn't make sense to purchase a new luxury vehicle when I can get the same quality and style for much less in a gently used luxury vehicle from Freeman. Whenever I'm asked for a referral, I always send my friends, family & even clients to Freeman BEFORE they go to the dealership for a new luxury vehicle, and I'm always being thanked for passing along the recommendation. Buying from Eric Freeman and his staff is like doing business with a family friend. You can count on the straight scoop from them. They are honest, upfront and best of all...NO PRESSURE!

We bought our 2003 Audi A4 from Freeman Motors last July and could not be happier with our purchase. My husband had researched for months and hadn't found a car with lower miles, in such good condition, as well as being priced so competitively! Every vehicle on their lot was impressive, all used European imports in great condition and great prices. We love the no pressure philosophy and I have already decided that when I'm ready for another car, I will go right back. We have spread the word!

I recently bought my first car from Eric in Bend Oregon. We were very happy with all aspects of the experience. No hard core sales, which would have been a big turn off. We just told them what we wanted to test drive and away we went. I would highly recommend Freeman Motors to anyone looking to buy a European car. I love my new car. Cmart

Just purchased a 2004 Jag from Freeman's new Bend Store. The staff went out of their to be accommodating including putting the car on the lift so I could check every inch of the undercarriage. When it was time to test drive-no pushy salesman in the seat next to me. My wife and took it for a real test drive.
A great experience and a great price. Next time I need a car, it's Freemans.

Went down to Freeman after looking at their inventory. I was impressed with the selection as well as the prices. Typically car buying is horrendous due to the games as well as the pressure of someone breathing down your neck so I wasn't overly thrilled about having to go buy a car but since my old one was totaled I was stuck. My husband and I were shocked that no one bothered us. We were able to walk around the lot and look at all of the cars without a sales person yakking in our ears. Once we decided on one to test drive we got the keys and were able to go without the sales person. We loved the car, struck a deal and were gone twenty minutes later! We were so impressed that we sent my mother down and she also bought a car from Freeman. A week after that my husband also purchased a car from them and couldn?t be happier. We are all thrilled. Thanks!!!

I've bought my third car from Les at Freeman Motors. These guys are true car people and seem to be able to buy nice cars to sell to the public at very reasonable prices. No pressure or hovering which is important to me as I take my time looking over a used car before purchase, especially as much as late model Mercedes and BMWs cost, even at the good deals Freeman sells them for. All three have checked out mechanically. I took each one I bought to the appropriate new car dealer and had the next major service performed as I always do after I purchase a used car. The cars passed with flying colors. I've had my SL from them for over a year now and it has been a very low cost maintenance vehicle and I got it for a LOT less than the new car Mercedes dealers were selling the same year SL for. You may not get a "Certified" car but you save multiple $1,000s over what the new car dealers sell the same used car for. Great people to buy from.

We purchased a 1998 E320 MB wagon which had only 48k miles but did have a few minor mechanical problems. The salesman lowered the price according to the estimated repair costs and a few dollars more to be sure. The repair did cost more than the estimate, but we still got a very good deal on a car that now looks, feels, and drives like a new car. However, be aware that a good used-car purchase requires doing your own homework prior to agreeing to a price and signing that check. This includes a mechanical inspection, KBB and NADA valuation comparison, and carfax history report. The salesman did not mention the problems with our car; I found the problems myself because I am a mechanic and I inspected the car prior to negotiations. Freeman Motor Company performed the carfax right in front of us in the sales office, and we brought a price/valuation spreadsheet that we prepared from NADA, KBB and price data from print and internet ads. That's how I KNOW I got a fair deal. A high mileage older car has many more parts approaching the end of their life cycle. Exposed to the elements vs. garage kept; regularly maintened vs. neglected and abused; college kids partying out the sunroof, or grandma picking up groceries; when buying a used car, it is as much about the previous owner(s) as it is about the miles and age. After all, all cars run on used parts; over 30,000 moving parts that all wear out over time. Even new cars break - thats why they have warranties. So something is always aproaching the end of its designed life cycle; tires, brakes, belts, hoses, fluids, bushings, bearings, and even the loose nut behind the steering wheel eventually wears out. Our family greatly appreciates the work Freeman Motor puts into finding high quality used cars and making them available at fair prices in a pleasant, professional environment. If you need a high-quality, used european luxury car or other specailty auto at a reasonable price, we recommend trying Freeman Motor Company.

I saw an ad for the car I was looking for, on Craigslist. It was a car being advertised by Freeman (FMC). I called ahead to make the sure the car was still available. I went there, and signed a form, and FMC (Brandon) gave me the key. I took off in it for 30 minutes. I came back, asked questions, and through no pressure at all, I decided to buy the car. FMC put $40 worth of gas in it and I was on my way. The car had some known, pre-advertised issues. I made a deal to purchase the car at a certain price with the known issues to be repaired as part of the deal. After a couple of SNAFUs, my new car's issues got repaired by the friendly, helpful repair staff (Sterling). AND, they gave me a loaner car to use while the known issues were being fixed/repaired.

Bottom line: I got a good, solid deal on my new-used car. The deal was so good that even though I will have a small bumper dent and some scratches repaired, I can still easily make $3,000 or $4,000 on the car should I desire to sell it rather than drive it. FMC has good deals (check KBB or Edmunds before you buy in order to check your prices and you will see just what I'm talking about). They are obviously a low-overhead, high volume pre-owned European car dealer. I would be willing to -- and likely will do business with them again! I hope they keep up the good work!
