Acting on a recommendation by my corporate attorney, I contacted Ms. Wong to handle my H-1B visa. She counseled me to file an L-1 rather than H-1B as according to her it was more appropriate for my situation, so that is what I did. The initial consultation with her left me full of confidence - she said my case was a simple one, and that there would be absolutely no issues, that she handled cases just like mine "every day." She gave me every impression that what I was doing was an walk in the park for her, and that she would have it completed without problem.

I supplied to her paralegal the information required for the application forms, My first indication of trouble should have been when I was sent the forms to check and sign: there were multiple errors in the information that had been filled out, not to mention multiple spelling mistakes! I could have done a better job myself. I attempted to contact the paralegal, and got no response for several days. I tried contacting Ms. Wong, and my call was not returned. Finally the paralegal responded and I voiced my concerns. She said she would correct it and create new forms, which she did. The new forms also had spelling errors, which I again corrected and sent back. I began to have misgivings about the care and attention being given my case.

Over the next few months after the forms were submitted, I tried contacting the paralegal for an update. No calls were returned. Eventually I was told that the original paralegal had left the firm, and that my case was being handled by a new paralegal. This new person had no clue who I was or anything about my case. Eventually I was told that they had "lost some of my paperwork" but that "everything was still progressing normally."

I was issued an RFE (request for evidence). I called and talked to Ms. Wong, and she blew it off as "standard procedure" and passed me off to the clueless paralegal. I assembled the materials required and forwarded them to the paralegal. These materials again were put together by the paralegal in a sloppy, careless fashion with multiple mistakes, and again I felt I could have done a much better job myself.

A couple of months later, I received a denial from USCIS. They stated that my case was not appropriate for an L-1 visa. I called Ms. Wong, and after a couple of days finally got a call back from her. When I told her what was on the denial, she stated that that I should have filed for an H-1B instead (which is what I originally requested). I asked then why she told me to instead file for an L-1, and she denied ever telling me that. She was very short and brusque on the phone with me. She then actually counseled me to commit immigration fraud, telling me "you should go marry your girlfriend so you can get into the country." When I told her that this was not an option, and asked what other option she could suggest, she said "I think perhaps you would be better off finding a different attorney, you might have better luck with them."

$6,800 in legal and filing fees and five months of my life down the drain, and when things didn't turn out as rosy as Ms. Wong told me they would, she first gave me advice to commit fraud, and then dumped me as a client and told me to go elsewhere.

This is precisely what I did, utilizing a different immigration firm in Cleveland, who successfully (and quickly) submitted my H1-B visa. He looked at the work Ms. Wong did on my case and called it "shoddy." He also told me had I followed her advice and attempted to "marry my girlfriend to get into the country" that I would likely have been charged with fraud.

Ms. Wong has accolades and awards, and lots of positive PR skills which garner her lots of press, but when it comes down to actually practicing the law she advertises, she is a terrible attorney, and in my opinion, one with very poor professional ethics. Her associates are incompetent and uncaring. She is all smiles and sunshine as long as your cash is heading her way, but as soon as things aren't going as smoothly as you expect, everything changes and she doesn't have the time of day for you. I would highly recommend you go elsewhere.

Margaret Wong destroyed my life! She did not care about me, just wanted the money. After paying her more than $15,000 I ended up in deportation. She lied to me about my status, about the law itself. Now she's waiting for me to get deported. Don't make the same mistake I did, go find another attorney, somebody who actually cares about the client!

My case was not a strong case for eb1b green card. My material is messy without focus in the beginning. Margaret Wong & Associate helped me a great deal and my case was approved in 2 month without 'request for evidence'. Four things impressed me most during the filing preparation: 1. my lawyer helped me re-write some of the reference letters which made my contributions much more clear and evident 2. my lawyer organized my material in a way that is beyond beautiful 3. I got many key advices to avoid pitfalls, for example, the number of claims etc. and 4. my specific questions were always answered in a very timely fashion. Overall, I highly recommend this lawyer for anyone seeking employment-based green card.

The customer service is very poor and not professional. I scheduled my first appointment via e-mail. When I called at the appointment time, it's shown that no appointment was made. Then, the admin gave me incorrect legal advice. Finally, I got to talk to Margaret and Lori. Lori seems very knowledge. Margaret made a statement that I thought to be very interesting... "I am always late anyway." I was promised a follow up appointment for clarafication. I scheduled a follow up appointment. The day before the appointment time; I received a reminder call, which is a good sign. At the appointment time when I called, Lori was on the phone and not available to take my appointment. Also, the admin couldn't find the record that I have paid the consultation fee. $150 is over-priced anyway.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. How the office functions is how the lawyers function. Will go get second opinion on my questions...

Margaret Wong is a humongous FRAUD. She is unprofessional, dishonest, unrespectful and non-responsive to her clients, and talks BIG, knows little about the immigration law. For this particular case, she claimed that she is an expert in CSPA, but it turned out she is a complete scam even the US Consulate indicated that. She rips off her clients financially and causes tremendous emotional damages. She does little work herself and her associates are incompetent! She is 2-2.5 hrs late for her appointment with her clients every SINGLE time. I can??t believe she is even allowed to practice law! Unbelievable!!!
