I had an excellent experience with A1 Classic Limousine Service. I had literally flown around the world stopping in three different time zones in a week and my memory was failing me. Sam picked me up at my hotel with a destination to Ohare Airport. Well, I needed to make an unscheduled stop to pick up my wallet which I left in my office building. To make matters worse, I then realized I forgot to check out of the hotel. Sam, my driver took all of this in stride and I made it to Ohare Airport with plenty of time to spare.

Sam was a very personable guy and seems to read the mood of his passenger well. A1 Classic Limousine is my go-to pick for car service in the Chicago Area.

I had the worst experience imaginable. I hired A1 for an 8-person limo to take me, my friend, and our mothers to a nice night on the town. We could have of course taken a taxi, but decided to go for the ""experience"".\r

First, the driver showed up over 15 minutes LATE. We ran downstairs with a bottle of sparkling apple juice, got in the car, and drove to pick up my friend.\r

I had thought I ordered an 8 person limo (which i DID DO). However, they showed up with a 6 person limo. Considering the driver was so late I didn't have time to get my receipt to confirm this error. No problem though- I wasn't goign to let it ruin my night.\r

Once in the car, I opened the bottle of of juice, poured it in the cups, and we had a toast. Well, it turned out THE CUPS WERE FILTHY. Once I turned the light on I realized there was woman's lipstick on my cup. DISGUSTING! I told the driver at our next stop. He apologized profusely, said someone must have used the car and forgot to wash the cups. I told him it is what it is, but that he needs to talk to the owner to make sure we are compensated for this. He said this would be no problem. Again, we went on with our night hoping we could make the best of it. Sure, we missed our reservation and had to wait another half hour because of the driver being so late, but again, we were optimistic to have a fun night.\r

After our concert, we find the limo, get in, drive 5 minutes, only for the driver to pull over and apologize to us as the limo has overheated. This was the straw that broke the camels back. We got out, told the driver thanks for the attempt, and he insured us he'd talk to the owner about getting compensated for this. The night was such a disaster we couldn't take it anymore. We all took taxis home. \r

The following day, I called the office and was offered a 50% refund and apologized for the cups, the driver being late, and the limo breaking down (which I was told from the oil not being changed; very professional, huh!). I said that with everything that went wrong this wasn't nearly enough. I was told the owner would call me back shortly. \r

Hours later, after not hearing back from him, I called again and got ahold of the owner, who told me ""this happens in the limo business all the time"" and that he'd refund me $100. Keep in mind this is off of a roughly $650 bill! Are you kidding me? The driver was over 15 minutes late, leading to us missing our reservation, the cups were filthy, and the limo broke down.\r

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Pending a response, I'm looking to pursue legal action. I believe A1 Limo should be put out of business. The owner is trying to steal from me, and based on other reports on the BBB website & other reviews I've read, it certainly doesn't seem like I'm the first.\r
