BEWARE BEWARE
Hands don't the worst thing you could ever do to your pet or your pocket. My Girl Friend and I had our can on a wellness plan for the past five months. The only time that she was seen, was the day we signed up. The can was recently eaten by a coyote so there is no need for the service, but they want us to either pay their inflated prices (which are (10 time what any other place charges) or pay for the next five months for an animal that does not exist. Our dog is also on the plan and every time we go in, it is like having a group of gypsies trying to swindle you. For example, they told me the only way to get a true urine sample was to stick a needle into my puppies bladder. That service was going to cost over $100.00. I also had to pick up some medicine for my dog. One Banfield told me I would need 50ml of ivermectin witch would be about $45.00, and that would last 2 weeks. Another Banfield tried to sell it to me for $160.00 and said my dog would need 60ml. I found the right drug online for $30.00 and it has lasted a whole month. Every time it is a new sales cycle for them. They will tell you your dog will die without this. Lies Lies Lies Lies Lies. BEWARE

Sad when a business puts the almighty dollar ahead of morals. Took my 2 cats and 1 dog in for what I thought was annual shots and advice for my cats behavior problems and they wanted to charge me $900! The vet also told me, "just so you know we don't euthanize for that". AS IF I would even do that!! I've spent years trying to get her to poop in her litter box, she's 10 now and if I wanted to just kill her I would've done it years ago! When I did agree to do an ear swab test I was handed 2 swabs and asked to swab her ears myself. Hope I did it right!! I just wanted advice and was treated like was a horrible pet mommy.

I only went to Banfield instead of my regular vet because it was after 5:30pm. The Banfield Vet did not come back and explain the results after they completed the expensive tests. Instead he sent the nurse who could not answer all of my questions and then seemed afraid to go back and ask the doctor for the ones he could not answer.
I did have a coupon which saved about $100. Some of the receptionist staff are really friendly but the overall flow of care did not seem coordinated. I will not follow up with them and will instead stick to my regular vet.

Ok, we have been going here for the last 9 months and they have done nothing for our dog, other than attempting to charge us with all kinds of tests. We know after taking some medication they prescribed that our dog has an allergy (either to fleas or our rabbit or both), however, they want to charge us $800 to peform an allergy test and bloodwork, instead of just prescribing the medicine because they must diagnose for certain. They want to do a liver test in order to also prescribe medicine that our friends dog is on for his allergies and his vet said nothing about doing any of these tests, yet Banfield refuses unless you pay. They are only there to make money. They don't seem to really care about the welfare of the dog, so my dog is going to suffer for a few days more until I can see a real vet. I just thought that Banfield would be lower in costs, but I was very wrong...they will get you with their push on flea meds and other diagnostics, when sometimes it is very obvious what is wrong and that stuff just isn't needed.

I have had my dog on a Banfield Wellness Plan for about two years now. I have lived in three different cities and used Banfield in all of them. This isn't the worst I've seen, but it's definitely not the best. They are always very busy and the desk staff seem to get flustered pretty easily. They are not the best at taking time with you and explaining things. No one has ever been rude, but they don't go above and beyond to be nice. Luckily my dog is generally healthy so we're not in there much except for routine vaccinations. I'm considering switching to La Jolla.

Don't fall for Banfield's "free" pet exam to introduce you to their staff and services. We were solicited for this free exam inside a Petsmart store, where the Banfield was located. The Three Stooges could have performed a better exam. The doctor was clearly not interested in performing even a cursory examination of my pet, who could have had ear, heart, eye, or dental issues which would not been discovered. Instead, we received a printed list recommending hundreds of dollars worth of blood tests and procedures, even though our pet was young and healthy. I am sure Banfield can justify their gimmicks, but they are rapidly getting a bad reputation for marketing tactics grossly contrary to the care and concern advertised on their brochures. HHhhaaachh--Ptu!

This is such a bad corporation that it seemed like the doctors and the hospital itself does NOT care anything about the animals.
They tried to run blood test after blood tests to determine what's wrong with my dog. The thing I'm most upset about is that they had to run the same blood test twice to double check!!! This doesn't make sense except to make more money! The doctor spent 5 minutes with me not explaining anything and had a nurse come back with the bill and how much everything is going to cost!

We have a siberian husky and she can be very shy and antsy around new people but they were very friendly with her here and tried very hard to make her feel comfortable with them before they took her away from us to be taken care of. The prices are reasonable and they do their best to get things done quickly. I would take my pet back here if needed.

PROS: Caring staff
CONS: Can be busy

The Banfield Pet Hospital is inside of Petsmart stores. I have a cat who hates to have her nails trimmed. I travel to this PetSmart location and they get the job done in just about under a minute. And they only charge $5. The staff is all very friendly. I have also had her get some vaccines from here as well. They are all very comfortable around animals and explain everything to you before they do it. You will know all costs up front which is nice. Recommened. And if you have to wait since you are in Petsmart it's easy and convienent to look around the store and pick up those much needed pet items.

This hospital is the best. When my housemates have dogs and they got sick, they brought their dogs to this hospital and the people took care the dog like their own. They are able to calm the dog down when the doctor were going to give a shot. I totally recommend this place if your pet is sick.
