DirecTV's regular scheduled ""updates"" wiped our box clean of our programming and wouldn't let us order a movie on a Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend. Had to talk to 3 IDOTS on the phone !!! The last one was the supervisor who was telling us she can't put a movie on manually (which was a blatant lie) unless we spend our Friday night troubleshooting with her first !?

All we wanted to do was watch a movie on the Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend not spend till 10pm troubleshooting at DirecTV's pleasure.

It seems by their ""regular updates"" they send your box through your phonelines, they purposely mess up your box once in a while to force you to ""upgrade"" to their DVR boxes for another $10/mo in hopes of getting better hasslefree service.

We wrote them a letter telling them we are stopping $90/mo. payment on the account until they get their act straight and provide acceptable service according to their own contract. They can collect their last month's $90 from their supervisor since she was more in control of our TV on a Friday night than we were. A copy of the letter was saved for BBB and FCC if/when necessary.

If DirecTV can't provide service in breach of their own contract and turns off our TV for non-payment, there are at least 3 companies in the area flooding our post-box with their junkmail begging us to provide TV service to us at half DirecTV's price for a year.

All their MARKETING about how their customer service is beating out everybody else's must be BS and their own claim since certainly NONE of their customers see it that way.
