First appointment, requested specific doctor, they call to confirm but have given me a different doctor, saying the doctor I was scheduled for did not work that day. They should have never scheduled me for that day then! I cancelled.

Had a great experience with Dr Allison fitting our daughter with contacts for the first time and Rachel being patient with her in learning how to put them in. The entire staff was so pleasant even though the office was in back to school

Loved the attention to all of my problems by Dr Allison. I had been having trouble with my contact lenses working right and feeling comfortable and she was able to start me on some treatment for dry eye that has made me able to wear my contacts all day again. I will definitely be back!! They also have the friendliest staff I have ever seen at any doctor's office I have ever been to. Keep it up!

I woke up on a Sunday morning with a very red eye and very sore. I had just moved to the Stone Oak area and found Stone Oak Vision Source listed in my medical directory. When I called Stone Oak Vision Source's phone #, the answering machine gave me Dr. Allison's cell phone # and I gave her a call. She had me come and meet her at the office immediately and was able to get a prescription for some medicine that helped my eye get better right away.\n\nI am thankful for the prompt service and not having to wait until Monday to get relief or go to the ER- which I was about to do! I didn't even know they were providers on my medical plan and they were able to send the visit into my insurance. Definitely better than an ER co-pay and a 15 minute in and out. \n\nI also learned not to overwear my contact lenses as that is what started my whole problem. I am thankful for the education and concern Dr. Allison shared with me. I will definitely be trusting my eyes to Stone Oak Vision Source from now on.

I went to Stone Oak Vision Source curious about what some friends told me about contacts that you wear only at night to make you see. Because I have always been active in sports and a swimmer and hate swimming blindly, I had previously tried to get LASIK surgery and get out of contacts but I was told I was not a candidate because I had thin corneas. \n\nAfter my exam with Dr. Allison, she told me I was a candidate for the special contacts and explained the procedure to me. Dr Allison told me if i slept in these lenses, I could see during the day without the other contacts. They would change the shape of my eyes without surgery.\n\nI am writing to report that after just a few nights wear, the contacts worked!!! I am now seeing clearly all day long, and I only use the contacts at night- while I sleep. \n\nI don't know why more eye doctors don't use these lenses called ortho-k, but I am so happy to have my vision clear for my sports and swimming and I will never go anywhere else for my eyes.

I took my 3 kids in today for their first eye exams and we had an absolute great experience. In order to accommodate my schedule, they split the kids between the 2 doctors and both Dr. Guzman and Dr. Allison were so patient with my kids. I was able to spend time with the doctors while the assistants completed things on the other children in order to get me out on time.\n\nWe were able to get in and out of the office AND select glasses for my daughter who needed them and still get to dance practice on time. The glasses she chose were absolutely adorable and she can't wait until they come in.\n\nThis office is hi-tech! They didn't have the air-puffer test and were able to take that measurement some other easier way that wasn't traumatizing for my kids. I highly recommend this office. From the front desk person who checked me in, to the assistants who helped get my kids ready, to the doctors- we had a great experience. Couldn't have been better!!!

The overall experience from the first time I walked in and by the time I left was excellent. The most thorough and comprehensive eye exam I have ever had! The entire staff from being greeted, the frame presentation, the appointment setting, followup call and Dr. Allison made my search for vision provider well worth my time.I visited several other vision providers and I was not impressed with their lack of overall attention and customer service. I work for a major corporation and I know the best customer service experience will always retain loyal customers and create referrals. Thanks for super experience!

activemommy: I have to totally disagree. I went to get my vision checked at Vision Source Stone Oak today with my young child and they were completely accommodating! After I got my vision checked and fitted for a great set of glasses they were nice enough to squeeze my son in for a check up as well. Also, my son had a GREAT time playing on the toy train setup while we were waiting. All of the staff were nothing short of stellar! I also want to mention that their selection of designer frames were great! They also offered to special order frames that they didn't carry. \nIf I could give them SIX stars I would. I'm sorry your visit did not seem as great as mine.

If you have a very mild prescription or you know your vision is 20/20 and you just need a fast check-up, this place would be ""OK"". \r\n\r\nDon't go here if your own vision is in any way complex or you feel it might be, and do yourself a favor and do not take children here at all, despite the train table and small display of kid frames they are not well suited to examine kids in terms of types of equipment and staff understanding of small kids (including and especially the OD).\r\n\r\nThe office staff all seems very nice, so if you just need a fast place to do something really simple it isn't bad, though I don't know about their quality or cost for glasses or contacts.\r\n\r\nI felt I was getting some rash answers and vague threats about my childs vision, as well as having the OD fail to listen to my requests NOT to scare my child nor talk about conditions except with me alone.\r\n\r\nI instead went to a Pediatric Ophthalmologist. They were totally set up for kids, no fumbling trying to figure out how to make the machines fit a child or what exams to do when and mine didn't cry or get nervous once there (unlike the other experience) and I got a TOTALLY different diagnosis.\r\n\r\nIf you are unaware of the difference, an OD is NOT a medical Dr. and frankly the fact that they sell glasses as part of their income is somewhat of a conflict of interest in my opinion (at least they do at this place) They do not attend medical school and when it comes to a child's developing eyesight are generally not as well versed or skilled at making an accurate diagnosis. Or for adults with complicated vision either - and if you get an unexpected diagnosis from an OD you should probably consider seeing an Ophthalmologist yourself as an adult too.\r\n\r\nMost Ophthalmologists don't sell glasses - find one that doesn't. It makes you a lot more confident that there is no conflict. And an Ophthalmologist attends medical school and is an MD, and to be a pediatric Ophthalmologist you have to go even longer.\r\n\r\nJust for the record, I'm just a mom, not a Dr. of any kind. I just know if I'd stayed and followed what Dr. Monica Allison was saying, I shudder at the kind of damage it might have done to my child's eyes. She had me scared and upset. \r\n\r\nBut after leaving the Ophthalmologist, we only need mild glasses that my child can choose to wear sometimes when needed for distance work (like a blackboard) but aren't required all the time, a huge difference from what I was hearing from Dr. Allison as well as a huge difference in the actual diagnosis, numbers and prescription. \r\n\r\nJust my experience.\r\n\r\n
