I just love this Doctor. He knows how to fix the body, not just the spine. I've been going to Chiropractors since I was a child (yes, really - one hip 1" higher than the other), he gets it. And after getting into an accident, he knows

So, most people when they think of chiropractors, get this vision of the spanish inquistion, this sense of dread and excruciating pain. Truth is a chiropractic check up and adjustment should probably be part of your maintenance routine, same as your dental cleaning, annual physical, haircut...but you're so scared you can't bring yourself to do it, right? IF THAT'S YOU THEN DR. FRED IS YOUR GUY. I feel like I've just had a spa day when I leave his office. No kidding. He is not a snap, crackle, pop, and C-ya chiropractor. He takes the time to ensure that everything is working in harmony for you. This is very important to me and I'll tell you why.

Maybe I'm clumsy, accident prone, or just too flexible for my own good but let's just say I've had some mishaps. Between yard sales on the slopes and car accidents (lost count) my spine's had more than its fair share of abuse. That's what initially got me to a chiropractor. I tore my ACL a couple of years ago (in one of those yard sales), had surgery and rehab to correct it. Dr. Fred took special care during that time to make sure that my knee healed well but also that added pressure on my other leg, hips, etc from overcompensating while recovering was kept in check. I went in for my usual adjustment a few months ago and Dr. Fred told me my rotator cuff was torn (who knew?) and advised me to have it checked by an orthopedist. Of course he was right. Last week he fixed my tennis elbow! I spazzed out picking something up, hurting my thumb in the process, and he caught that too.

Everytime I fall apart, he sets me right again to pursue mischief and mayhem once more! Everybody needs someone like Dr. Fred in their corner!

I've been seeing chiropractors for about 8 years. I've visited male and female practitioners in Boston, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Long Island and others in New York City. Dr. Fredman's practice (Kuru Chiropractic) is by far the best I've ever experienced. Dr. Fredman genuinely cares about his patients and their overall well-being and he provides thoughtful, specific and individual care each time you visit. His attention to detail sometimes astounds me, especially in comparison to some practices which feel like cookie-cutter assembly lines.

There may be other chiropractors out there who are similarly talented (I've experienced other good ones), but this office's whole package is noteworthy. The office displays a keen attention to detail and takes your care seriously...all with a good sense of humor and pleasant attitude. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, you are well-taken care of. Everyone is friendly and works diligently to provide the best service--from the adjustment, to the massage (free massage included!), to handling logistics such as scheduling and insurance/payment.

Dr. Doug has, on numerous occasions, bent over backwards (ha-ha, no pun intended) to accommodate me and to make sure I am getting the care I need.

I can not sing enough praise for this office. Plus, they're right next door to Century 21 (and numerous train lines), so you can easily combine it with your next discount shopping expedition!
