I had an ER visit in the spring of 08, which led me to see Northland Womens Health Clinic (Dr. Nichols). Her nurse is WONDERFUL; Dr. Nichols is none to be desired. She came to the conclusion after my first visit that I needed surgery, in which would be in about 2 months. \r\nThis was very shocking for me, and never being in the hospital at all, I was hesitant. I asked if in 6 months could we see if there were any changes? I was told yes.\r\nI never had any other problems after that incident, and saw my regular doctor on a regular basis, and was told not to worry if everything seemed to be going fine.\r\nI tried to make an appointment with Dr. Nichols in May 09, now in the right frame of mind to have surgery and deal with my issue. I was told that she released me from her care and I would have to see a specialist in order to see her again. So I called to make an appointment with the specialist that she recommended, and was told that she could not see me until October 09. So I waited, but In August of 09, I was rushed to the hospital again with the same pain as the year before.\r\nThe ER told me to see my regular doctor and to call Dr. Nichols and let them know what was going on. So I called, and was told again that I had been released and I needed to see the specialist first. So I called the specialist and told them and they told me to call Dr. Nichols again. I told them...No, they told me to call you. I then received a message from Dr. Nichols nurse stating that she would not see me and I needed to find a new doctor; the specialist included.\r\nI was never given any reason as to why they would not see me. I have insurance. \r\nI lost my trust with the Northland Womens Health Care. Being a proud Northlander, this disheartens me.

I have had 4 pregnancies and have had NWHC's care during each one. I have had nothing but great care. My last two pregnancies, unfortunately ended in miscarriage, but they made me feel very comforted during those difficult times. My recent miscarriage, from the minute I found out I was pregnant they were on top of things trying to help my pregnancy last. They are a great staff and caring. I have never had a bad experience with any of the doctors there. They were great during my other pregnancies, also. They are always ready to help and listen.

Pros: Caring staff

Let me begin by saying that the nursing staff was friendly and helpful, the wait wasn't too long, although I have been to faster offices, and the Nurse Practicioner I saw was friendly and helpful. However, after that, the story goes down hill! When I made the appointment, I did not know that they did not take my insurance, and even though I paid $200 for the office visit, I kept getting bills for lab work, and each test was billed seperately. So, long story short, I owe more than $600 for services that my insurance would have paid for in full, and was not told that they don't accept my insurance until I was there for my appointment, and, needless to say, I will never go back again. When I called, they told me isn't wasn't their charges, it was labCorp charges... Always the run around! No wonder people who don't have insurance end up losing everything they own because of medical bills!

Pros: Friendly Nursing Staff

Cons: Don't Go Unless You Have Insurance

Bowerslr seems right! My wife's doctor recently retired so we are looking for a new doctor for her. It became very important when my wife started bleeding again two weeks after her cycle and having stomach pains. I called this place first thing they asked for is insurance. I explained that our insurance had lapsed because of a clerical error on my part (review your papers before you mail them) and that it would start again in sept. but I'm a commercial contractor making $120,000 a year and I would pre-pay for her appointment if need be because my wife really needs to see a doctor. She didn't care they are not taking unisured patients and was very rude about it. I asked for a refferal. Nope can't do that either. Thanks northland for your care and concern for women in KC!!!!! I guess you can only join the family if they know they're going to get paid.

I have been a patient at this office for 13 years. I've always had excellent care, and most particularly during my most recent pregnancy eight years back which was high risk for several reasons.\r\n\r\nMy doctor explained things to me in terms I could readily understand without talking down to me. The nursing staff was efficient, kind, and personable. \r\n\r\nIt's never pleasant to go to the gynecologist, but when I return each year for my exam I feel like I'm visiting family friends who happen to be excellent health care professionals.

I have been battling cervical dysplasia since I was 20 years old and after finding out from my general practice doctor that the potentially cancerous cells were back I was terrified. I was referred to Northland Womens Health where I met with a specialist. I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes and in the exam room for almost an hour. When the doctor finally arrived no appologies were given for her delay. She spent about two minutes asking me questions from a list she had, never once making eye contact, never once introducting herself or shaking my hand. After a few minutes of questions she told me that I had nothing to worry about and that she would see me again in 6 months. I was here because I had had two bad pap-smears in the last 6 months and this woman is telling me not to worry. I have had invasive surgries because of this in the past ... and she does not even talk to me about my concerns, what could happen, or what she anticipates will happen.\r\nAfter the visit I walked into the waiting room and cried. I was already scared and overwhelmed and this woman did nothing for me. I called the clinic the next day to tell them that I was disappointed in the care I had recieved, the comment made to me was that this doctors bed-side manners were less than desireable. \r\nI recieved a bill which I refused to pay. I wrote every doctor in the practice a letter describing to them my experience. No one ever contacted me but the bill kept coming. \r\nI would not recommend Northland Womens health to any friend or stranger. As a woman it is my right to recieve great health care ... this doctor was simply awful.

Pros: I cannot think of a single pro that out weighs the con

Cons: The worst health care I have ever recieved, EVER!
