I can echo many of the reviews you've read here and more. We picked this place because it was the largest 2 bedroom we could find. If we could move tomorrow we would, no matter the cost.

The place is filled with self-centered

I could overlook the 1AM fire alarms, dog poop, and locking the trash chutes so you can't throw out garbage (???), and I now sleep with earplugs for the noise that I hear from three neighboring apartments and the street.
BUT
I had to write a review today b/c they basically insulted me with corporate threats. Got back from vacation this morning, July 6, had forgotten to pay the rent due by the 3rd. There was a legal notice letter (not a reminder or a "whoops" note or something), a notice letter saying they would keep my security deposit and start legal proceedings in three days. Three days more would put my RENT LATE BY 6 DAYS TOTAL --THEY WILL KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT AND SUE YOU?? This letter is their FIRST STEP when you are a few days late. I went to the office and told them how insulted I was, and she says "sorry, but that's our policy". Everything the letter threatens to do is also illegal (I Am a lawyer).

I was really excited about getting to finally have my own place that was close to school and the downtown area. From the outside the complex seems well kept, modern, and friendly. But after having lived there for 6 months, I can honestly say I will never do business with these people again.
Within one week of living there the fire alarms began going off at all hours of the day and night, supposedly set off by residents or guests throwing cigarette butts down the trash shoot. This continued for the entire six months I was a resident here and instead of installing surveillance cameras, they just locked the trash shoots to residents, inconveniencing the people paying big bucks to live there. The entire structure is concrete so when the alarms do go off, the sound is literally ear-piercing and sometimes lasted for hours while security personnel stood around twiddling their thumbs and fire fighters were annoyed at having to come out at least once a week.
Other general complaints include the fact that people with pets never picked up after themselves, leaving the grounds constantly wreaking of dog pooh. Empty threats were made in an attempt to encourage residents to be more responsible but nothing was ever done to back them up. The parking garage is a death trap in which residents and guests drive around blind corners at high speeds.
My complaints about the management staff could fill a book. When I went to talk to management and other leasing staff for various payments and questions, I never knew what I would be getting. Sometimes they were accommodating and other times they were outright rude and condescending. When my final billing statement came in I was appalled at the charges. They are trying to charge me to replace the carpet that the previous tenant ruined! And they tried to charge me twice for my last water bill.
When I first moved in we asked about painting an accent wall of our color choice. We were told that we could do whatever we liked with the walls as long as we painted them back when we moved out. This ended up being a lie and I was charged a ridiculous amount for them to paint over it because they wouldn't allow me to do it myself. However, considering that there was already an accent wall when we moved in, I wouldn't be surprised if they charged me to re-paint but actually left the wall as is.
Overall, this complex broke my bank account and my trust. I would never recommend this complex to anyone!
