Keith M. We also had an awful experience with them and the same trainer. She was very nice one visit the next condescending and cursed at my dog, "You piece of Shi#., you Bithc#", and my dog was a puppy, A very barky fearful puppy that she called a red zone case. We never got our money back and our new trainer said she was dead wrong and worked soo much better with her.

MY BARKBUSTERS experience was TERRIBLE!

I was INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED with the training I (didn't) receive for my dog Ruby from Sheila Alvord. Ruby was a puppy we brought home from the Atlanta Humane Society. She was a beautiful Rottweiler/Labrador mix. The first visit (aka "the sale pitch"). She said that the dog needed a lot of work (which is to be expected of a puppy). She promised us this and that for "the life of the dog". We signed up.

After that, she only gave us TWO sessions. She had the first session which of course is rough, considering the dog is a puppy. Every time I called to make an appointment, it was some explanation (i.e. excuse) of having a booked calendar to the next 2 to 3 weeks. When she did come back, I was not able to attend that session, so my wife did by herself.

Apparently, Sheila didn't want to be bothered training a tough dog. My wife told me that Sheila was very condescending by saying that "you aren't spending enough time on your own training this dog" and offending us with a question "is this dog being hit?" Needless to say, when I heard that I was ticked off.

She left my wife know "if you don't do your part, I had the right to cancel the contract". After that, we could NEVER get a hold of her right away and when we did, it was the same old excuse of being booked for 3 to 4 weeks.

Figuring we couldn't wait for Sheila to finally bring her behind around, we tried to train the dog ourselves in the meantime. That, of course, was not effective and the dog was never properly trained. Oh, and Sheila, we never saw her butt again!

I sent a fax to "corporate" trying to explain how I felt abandoned by my trainer and wanted a refund. No response of course.

I did call my Vet's office and complain. The one redeeming part of this story is that the Vet said that others had complained as well, so they were no longer referring BarkBusters.

I was about to go crazy with Sebastian the little White Terrier we rescued; that soon became known to us as the ??The Great White-Terror?. He had eaten the last piece of my kitchen tile and his days were numbered! I was trying to think of a way to tell my daughter so I called my sister for some much needed advice. My sister was the 1st one to introduce me to Bark Busters; and when Sheila came to our home her confidence and the way the dog responded to her was amazing! She trained us to train the dog. She saw something in Sebastian that none of the others (including us) ever saw, An extremely fearful dog with separation anxiety disorder. After the 1st visit things were actually looking hopeful and by the 4th visit I honestly couldn't think of any behavioral issues to address that Sheila hadn't already addressed. I can't believe I am saying this but the training was actually fun! Is Sebastian the dog of our dreams now??? Not Even Close? He is so much Better!

Sheila Alvord really helped mw ith my dog. He had too many issues to count. I had rescued him and was about to give up, but Sheila turned us both around. She is great with dogs and people too ... a real pro
