By far my favorite place for coffee in NYC! I love the CR's cappuccino's better than Starbucks, Hands down. My friend recommended this place to me when I moved into the neighborhood for the Cannoli's, it was the best I've ever had, EVER. When I need to get out of my Apt I go to Caffe Roma for an Iced Cappuccino and the Free Wifi (wifi is better on the weekdays, it gets very busy on the weekends).

I've found the service to be exceptional. The staff is very friendly, and a pleasure to deal with, they make me feel at home when ever I'm there.

Overall, the best Caffe in Little Italy, not a tourist trap like most places in the area. Considering their location, and quality of the desserts and drinks, I think it is a great value.

They have been there for over 120 years, they must be doing something right!

I have never tasted more AMAZING pignoli cookies than the ones they make, and the almond cappuccino that I ordered was perfect. The atmosphere, which is charming and reminiscent of a European cafe, provided a perfect setting to escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan.

This is and will always be my go-to place in Little Italy.

OMG!! the chocholate cannoli was the best.
My friend had the regular also really good.
We went in after looking at some other places down the block. (one of the locals told us to go to the Caffe Roma)These cannoli's were large, filled to the brim, the best price and tasted awesome.
We will be back.

I stumbled up this charming cafe about two months after I moved into the Little Italy neighborhood. I have been a regular since.
The cakes are made everyday and the pignoli cookies are the best I have ever had. On one recent visit I was having my morning coffe when tray after tray of freshly baked goodies started rolling out of the bakery.
The atmosphere is fabulous and relaxed. You feel like you have stepped into a a real espresso bar in Rome. I often spend an hour or so in the morning sipping fresh brewed coffe while using the Free wifi.
I love to come with my friends and often have coffe after class with my study group. I never feel rushed in fact the regular waitress
has gotten to know me and ofter offers us our favorite window table.
Great place for NYU students! I brought my parents here after dinner in Chinatown and they loved it. The place was packed.
check it out! a real find.

I'm not surprised to see that this place has gotten bad reviews. As visitors in town, our experience there yesterday was terrible. As we were walking around, trying to find a place that served gelato, we came upon their outdoor station in front of the restaurant. Tired and ready to relax with with some gelato, we accepted the high $4 price for a single scoop sugar cone after the server warned us of the price and made sure we wanted one. Obviously, I wasn't even entertaining the idea of tipping anything for two overpriced $4 gelato cones, so maybe they didn't like that. Anyway, I proceeded to sit down at one of the 4-5 empty outside tables. A waitress came up and told us we could not sit there. Granted, there was a sign on the table stating "Only Table Service, no outside food or drink." Ok, I can understand if the place was packed and patrons were waiting for tables, but come on, no one was there except for a couple of people inside! If anything, we would be doing them a favor to sit outside, maybe they would get some business. I tried to tell her we were only staying to finish our gelato, but she insisted we had to leave. Imagine, we just bought THEIR gelato, and wanted to take a break in THEIR chairs, but that was not allowed. As we were quite insulted, we didn't back off. We proceeded inside hoping to find management to speak to. The poor guy behind the counter began to hear our story when a quite aggravated lady comes storming in saying, "What seems to be the problem?" My girlfriend proceeded to calmly explain their policy didn't make any sense. The "manager", who was rude from the onset, stated she had trained the guy outside to let people know they would not be able to sit there if they were only getting a gelato and she knew he told us (which he had not). After much back and forth between us and the "manager", we knew it was going no where. Out of frustration, my girlfriend smashed her gelato cone on the counter and stormed out while the "manager" yelled she was calling the police. I was a bit shocked that she did that, especially since she is the more calm of the two...anyway, I walked out after her and did finish my melting gelato haha.
Sorry for the long review, we were so frustrated with their reaction that we might have stooped down to their level, but it's nice to know they had somebody that gave them a little attitude back (and a mess to clean up).
Walk a block or two, I'm sure you may find better service if you want gelato in Little Italy. This business gives Little Italy a bad name and enforces the "cold and rude" New York stereotype that outsiders have heard (we had a great experience at our hotel and other restaurants so I know it's not completely true).
All in all, two thumbs WAY down for Caffe Roma!

I thought the place was fanatastic. But most importnatly was the beautiful Domenican girl who served us. She was on point and knew how to treat her customers right. And then the hot latino who makes the cappucino. Ai Papi, break me off a piece of dat!! I've been back for more and more.

The waitress was horribly rude when right after she brought us our tea we asked for milk for our tea, she actually huffed and puffed and said, "Is that all because I'd like to be able to get everything in one shot and not have to run around the whole time for you." And to top it off, the strawberry ice cream was artificial and the eclair was stale. We were initially relieved to have found a cafe with available tables but after that experience we quickly realized why nobody bothers to go there. So don't bother with this place and go somewhere else.

Pros: none

Cons: poor service, poor pastries

.

I recently visited this cafe with a party of four. We were very glad to get out of the cold and be seated immediately for dessert. The trouble began when I noticed that the assortment of pastries on display seemed kind of plain. The waitress sneered that they did not have American coffee when a member of our party asked for one. It was shocking to see that the barista was not making proper cappuccinos. He would half fill a cup with milk; froth up the milk, add espresso, and then froth it again to mix it up. The raspberry chocolate cake served was slightly stale and chocolate cannoli shell appeared to be armor plated. We were glad to leave.
