WELCOME. You have just entered the ultimate jump zone. Established in 1999, we are the ORIGINAL and only cliff jumping site to give you directions to over 400-WorldWide cliff jumping sites! "Somewhere in Kentucky" just doesn't do it for us!
THE IDEA. To make it easy for cliff jumpers to find jump sites. And to offer cliff jumpers the opportunity to show the world what they are made of by posting their jumps and directions to them for all to see and enjoy(ORIGINAL IDEA).
CLIFF JUMPING is a very dangerous sport, so if you are not a cliff jumper please enjoy this site but don't go out and start jumping. People have seriously and even fatally injured themselves, so please be safe. Always swim down and check the water, always wear shoes (yes shoes, unless you are a pro with the toe pointing) Shoes also help with walking around the cliffs and surrounding terrain (broken glass, jagged rocks) , and never jump because your buddy is callin' you a wimp. Cliff jumping takes practice and even then might not be for you. Take a look at Illinois to see what happens when you don't have a clue what you're doing. If you need help getting started in this sport check out the F A Q page. Please also know that the height of the cliffs on our site could be off as much as 15-20ft. This is because some jumpers can eyeball a cliff and tell you how high. The others, who need to break out the measuring line... don't. We apologize for this but until we can hop on a plane and check each one personally, the numbers we get will have to do.

When i first discovered Airabovewater and scoped out the page i was disappointed to find out that you needed to pay to become a member. After a few short words with Joe Sellars, founder of AAW my perspective changed instantly. He told me to submit a couple of my own unique jump spots (he will pay $5 per jump spot members submit) and that allowed me to buy a 1 year membership. Once i got on the site i realized that it's worth so much more than the $24.99 he charges for a LIFETIME membership. Each site submitted has pictures & often video of what your experience there will be like as well as in depth directions to the cliffs. Joe & AAW are visionaries to the sport of cliff jumping and i know that this site will continue to expand and prosper. Truly a must visit website for anybody passionate about bridge and cliff jumping!

So many jump spots all over the world. Especially if you're moving all over and still want to keep jumping, the website makes finding new spots super super easy. Joe, the owner, is a really cool dude too. Very helpful with everybody who joins his cite, whether with finding jump sites or meeting other jumpers in your area. Definitely worth joining!!

AIRABOVEWATER.COM is the most complete, comprehensive and informative web site I have found on-line regarding the sport of cliff diving/cliff jumping. I have had the good fortune to be a member of Airabovewater.com for several years now and it has proved to be an extremely valuable resource for locating places to dive/jump all over the country - and now, all over the world! Whenever I plan on traveling to a new area I check airabovewater.com for locations that I might be able to enjoy while Im on my travels. With directions and specific information provided by other members the information provided is trustworthy and the reviews of the different cliff/bridge jumping spots are accurate and often times humorously described. Airabovewater.com has everything a good web site should have: helpful information about the subject matter, links to other web sites that would be of interest to any visitor and encouragement to help you learn more and stay safe in your pursuit of the thrills of launching yourself off of a cliff or bridge into the air above the water! The site creator - Joe Sellars has done a fantastic job and the site continues to grow and now includes video content in addition to the pictures and directions that have been provided for quite a while. Click on over and spend a few minutes checking the site out and if you have any interest in cliff diving at all youll probably find that the minutes turn into hours looking at all of the various content available to you at airabovewater.com!

i think AAW is an amazing site! with a hole lot of jumping resources, without it i wouldnt of found out about jumping as much as i have up until now. jumping is amazing and makes you feel free. i love the site. and thats basiclly all :))
