Decide how the solar panels will be mounted. There are 3 main methods to choose from. You can use a flush mount, ground to roof mount (universal), or a freestanding pole mount.
If you are placing the panels on a building or roof a stud finder should be used to find the rafters. The mounts should be placed 48 inches apart and secured to these rafters. The panel needs to be 3-6 inches from the roof.
To be most efficient the panels should be facing to the south and tilted properly towards the sun. It is best to have a system where the tilt can be rotated with the sun.
Steel lag bolts are best for the installation process.
To prevent leakage it is best to use roof flushing wherever the mounts are placed on the roof.
Once all the panels are mounted; then run conduit from the system to the power inverter.
Wait, you're the expert.
