.

I have been an avid Walgreens customer of this location for about a year now. Situated close to my home in Greenwich, CT, I found it an easy commute.\r\n\r\nDuring the various times I have frequented this locale, I was greeted by its customer service and I readily found most of the items I was looking for.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, I began to use their pharmacy for my monthly contraceptive refills. However, I had the most unfortunate of experiences with this company today. I had refilled a script for Lutera, 28 tablets on the 29th of September. As my script refill would expire on the 1st of October, and I knew I would not be able to see my doctor until later in the month, these refills were of high regard. I placed the pick-up date of Tuesday, October 5th, but was not able to make it to the store due to sickness. On Monday, October 11th, I placed a call to this pharmacy to confirm that I was indeed going to pick up my script. The person I spoke to said all was well and that I could pick-up my pills the following day. Today, I called the store to confirm that they had my insurance card on file. This was truly important as my employer had changed insurance companies in Sept. To my surprise, Victor, the pharmacy rep reported that they had processed my request devoid of my insurance card, which they had on record since early Sept., and that I would have to pay full retail price. At this point, I was annoyed with the situation and told Victor that I was not responsible for paying a higher cost due to their ineptitude. \r\n\r\nA few minutes into our conversation, an actual pharmacist came onto the phone to pretty much explain that the pills had not been processed under my insurance, and now that the script had expired, she would not be able to process these pills under the insurance company for they would deny the claim.\r\n\r\nExpressing my frustration once more, I was told by this fill-in pharmacist that Mimi, the regular pharmacist, would be informed of the events, but that I could come pick-up this script today. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, even Cigna tried to intervene by calling Walgreens Pharmacy directly, but were given the same storyline. \r\n\r\nThis evening, after a long day of work, I went to Walgreens not too pleased with paying them additional monies for THEIR error and found out that someone called my doctor to get a revised script and since they were not able to get in touch with anyone at the office, wrote a note in their computer system, which stated that they would need me to come back the following day after they spoke to my doctor for a current script order. At this point, I was angry and could not understand why my script could not be furnished to me. Apparently, that ""helpful"" pharmacist's phone call placed the refill that I had placed in late Sept. and which they had on-site, as null and void.\r\n\r\nI am overly disappointed and disgusted with this store. Their ineptness has caused me an unwarranted headache. And, overall, it is clear that charging their customers extra monies is their true intent. \r\n\r\nI certainly will not remain a patron of this establishment.\r\n
