From start to finish I had a wonderful experience with this practice. When I called for an appointment (I was a new patient) I was given an appointment within a couple of days. I was very pleased with how quickly I was able to get in! When I arrived I was greeted with smiling faces. I brought in my completed paperwork so didn't have much of a wait time at all. The doctor I saw was knowledgeable and caring. Her nurse spent a lot of time going over information with me at the end of my visit. The entire experience made me feel like I was in good hands. This is my kind of practice and I will definitely be going back!

i had a bump come up on my head near where i had a previous skin cancer. i was able to be seen within days and had a biopsy done by dr. lokitz. she did a great job. unfortunately, it was a skin cancer, but they directed me to mohs surgery. it was all taken care of within a month, and i don't have to worry about it anymore. the staff was very friendly and very efficient.

The care I received at Blue Ridge Dermatology was outstanding. Dr. Ghate is a wonderfully caring and competent doctor who guided me through the difficult process of treating a new skin cancer. I recommend her highly.

After my first appointment at Blue Ridge Dermatology there was a problem with my insurance, the billing department was very helpful and we worked it out. I really appreciated all they did to get the matter taken care of. Wonderful Staff and great service.

I saw Dr. Lokitz and the visit was quick and I was able to go over my concerns and each was addressed very well.

The wifi in the waiting room and exam was a nice add for my iPhone while I had to wait.

Nice Practice. I would recommend Dr. Lokitz and Blue Ridge.

I just had my first appointment at Blue Ridge Dermatology and it was a very pleasant experience. The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and I only had about a 15 minute wait.....most of that was filling out my initial paperwork since I was a new patient.

The doctor and assistant were very personable and gave me exact instructions on what I needed to do after they took a biopsy. The ladies at checkout/billing were also pleasant and made the checkout/payment very easy.

Blue Ridge Dermatology was very efficient and customer friendly and I would recommend them to anyone needing a great dermatologist.

My experience at Blue Ridge was great. I needed to be seen for a rash that had showed up suddenly and the ladies over the phone were very polite and were able to work me the very next morning. I saw Dr. Ghate and she was very sweet, and knowledgable. Her nurses were very thorough and helpful also. Ladies at check-in and check-out were very nice.
I've had a few friends recommend this practice and I was very pleased with my experience. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

As a newcomer to the triangle area, I went to Blue Ridge Drematology for a issue that I have had for some time. I called and was offered an appointment for that same day. I came in and saw Dr. Kendall Hash. What a great doctor. She explained exactly what she was doing and even called me to "check up" on me after I got home. The office staff from check in to check out was nothing but pleasant. If you are in need of a great doctor....this is the place that i would recommend

I dont know how they can call themselves a medical practice. From the office manager to the doctors this crowd sucks. I'm suprise the medical board hasnt shut them down and dont dare try to question anything or anyone there. Then you will have the pleasure of meeting Kristy or Kathy neither who know what the hell the other is doing. Kristy must have degrees on top of degrees cause she has absolutely no people skills what so ever. Her idea of how to talk to people and customer service is nonexsistent. Kathy who on the other hand tries sees to be a puppet on a string doing the evil works of Kristy the pupppet master. I came in for a suture removal where the MA left half the sutures in my arm and cover with what she called steristrips but was nothing more than some dirty (NOT STERILE) medical tape. This place is a breading ground for infections!

It seemed to take forever to get in to see a doctor in this office. It is a very difficult process. The check in and check out leave a person wondering where the service part of this office is. The doctor I did see was wonderful and I felt like my needs were met. After that appointment I made another appointment ( there is an appointment for everything) with the skin care person Carol Tippett. I was expecting it to be another hard sell for skin products but it was refreshingly different. I felt like she really listened and cared about my skin problems. We have started a program and I am very excited about it. She works hand in had with the doctor so that made me feel very confident in her choices. So if you can get in it is worth the wait.

Carol, the Medical Aesthetician is very, very good at what she does! I've been to several aestheticians in the area and she is the most knowledgeable. The skincare lines that she's chosen to carry work very well with my sensitive skin. We've developed an anti-aging routine that sure is doing its job! Thank you for all of your help, Carol!

I made an appointment 6 months out for a week that I would be home from college to get moles checked out. I needed to have the appointment early in the week in case of complications, like I had last time. I made the appointment for a Monday, and about 2 weeks before my appointment, I got a call telling me my appointment had been rescheduled for a month after that. I explained I was a college student and only going to be in town for a short time. Didn't matter. So I canceled my appointment and will find a new dermatologist.

When I went in for a follow up for a medication that didn't seem to be working, the doctor told me that *I* needed to ask my neurologist for possible drug interactions before she would prescribe me something new. Isn't that what a doctor is trained to do: to know, or at least look up drug interactions on an office computer instead of passing it on to the patient to find out?

I left the office with ANOTHER follow up appointment made.

A couple weeks later, I got a certified letter in the mail telling me that they canceled my follow-up appointment and that I was "to no longer be seen at Blue Ridge Dermatology and that I needed to transfer my medical records and find a new doctor!"

I really like my doctor, but this company makes a practice of making automatic appointments for you and not letting you know. My doctor never told me when to come back. Most doctors will tell you they want to see you in a certain amount of time...not this one. They made an appointment for me anyway. The receptionist took my money, but never asked when I would like to come back. Isn't this part of a doctor visit? When I asked them over the phone, they basically called me a liar and that they never make auto appointments. Well this is not what I have read in other reviews. As soon as my ailment is cleared up, I will be looking for a staff that actually cares when I walk through the door.

Pros: Good Doctor

Cons: Rude employees

.

I think this is actually their staff that made this review. It kinda goes with their whole attitude there that the patients are "lucky" to be seen there.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be seen within A YEAR when you have a history of skin cancer. However, if you say that you have some zits...well then, you are in a week! I asked if I could be seen before a year bc some moles were giving me concern. I was told that she would transfer me to medical records to find a new doctor! They are awful, awful, awful here.

They arm twisted me to see their chick that does facials, and I had to pay $50 bucks b/c the dr popped her head. I had some questions, and she literaaly had no time for me. They treat you like a bother here!

I needed to see Dr. O'Rourke and I know she has a really busy schedule and it is hard to get in, but the appointment scheduler worked with me and found an appointment that worked. She was very professional and friendly and went above and beyond to accomodate my situation. Other reviewers say they are rude, but I think that is because they have unreasonable demands and want special treatment at the rest of the patient's expense. After all it is the age of entitlement.

I called to get an appointment for a full skin check in Feb of 2009. I was told that I couldn't get in until July of 2009, and I would have to be seen for some other skin issue before setting up a skin exam. They assured me then that once you were an established patient, you could get right in. Not the case, the appointment women rudely told me my doctor was booking out to 2010!! I said there was no way I would wait that long, she then offered me a different practitioner in Sept...8 months after my initial phone call! I asked to speak to the Practice Manager....Kristy Kearns...she was VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. They don't care about you as a patient, you are just another number and insurance claim to them. They should be ashamed of themselves. The fact that my mom has melanoma meant nothing to them either...you'll just have to wait...

Great doctors but the office staff doesn't respond to inquires left on voice mail regarding biopsy results, prescription refills or asking a simple question until you have left numerous messages or sent several faxes. In the meantime, it appears that it is easier for the staff to ignore your request until you have hounded them to death in the course of a week or more! The bottom line is they have too many patients and therefore are unable to give good care.

I've been a patient of Dr. Aarons for several years & I just called to schedule my yearly body scan & was told that she is booking appointments for those in FEBRUARY 2010!!! You've got to be kidding me!! How in the world am I suppose to know what I'll be doing in February next year?! I'm bewildered as to why it should take 10 months to get in for a full body scan when I've had pre-cancerous moles removed before. I'll be looking for a new dermatologist - one that doesn't make patients wait almost a year before spending 10 mintues with them.

I just read the previous reveiw and find this hard to believe. This practice from staff, to nurses to doctors have always been friendly and helpful evertime I've been there. When you arrive late why would you think you should bump people who come on time or that you should still be seen. People who are late and demanding create problems for the rest of us and expect the office to act like nothing happened, at the rest of the patient's expense. Grow up! You want to be treated like an adult then take ownership when you are late. I will go back to this practice and highly recommend it to my friends, even if it I have to wait several weeks for an appointment. The best are worth waiting for.

I arrived late for my appt. But had spoken with someone on the phone, who said I was fine. Their "missed appt." time is 15 min late. I literally spoke with some one at 8:57 and when I arrived at 9 the receptionist Loudly announced "audible to the entire waiting room" that my appt had been cancled. I explains that I had just spoken with one of them and they looked at me like I had two heads. Both chiper woman gave off an air of abnoxiousness. I was told that they could rework me in (even though I was there exactly 15min late) one woman said that she hadn't marked me a a no show yet, so I could keep my original time slot... That quickly changed when another woman walked in for her appt and said she was in a hurry... She went right in to see the same doctor that I had been waiting for, I ask the receptionist what happened and she acted confused then said, oh well we cancelled your appt, you are now a work in. Overall I felt disrespectd, I would not recomeened this dermatologist if you are under the age of 30, they will treat you like you're 15. One positive is that the nurses and doctors are great, very personable and knowledgable, but the uncomfortable wait is not worth the visit!

Blue Ridge Dermatology is hands-down the best dermie practice I've been to. A neighbor in the health care industry recommended them. I'm baffled by the negative comments in previous posts. I found the office staff to be friendly and professional. The nurses and doctor who treated me were great! They listened, answered my questions, and they did not make me feel rushed at all. As a new patient I had to wait for two months for my appointment, but I expected to wait since that seems to be the norm with dermatology specialists. I am delighted to have found my dermatologist.

Pros: Friendly, knowledgable staff and physicians; location

I went to BlueRidge Dermatology yesterday as a new patient, even after reading the reviews.
I almost canceled, but a friend of mine convinced me to make my own opinion,so I went.
I went to the blueridge road location.
I called a few times for directions and to let them know I was running a few minutes late, and was treated in a friendly and helpful manner.
Their office was crowded and I thought I would have a long wait-but it only took 5-10 minutes before my name was called.
The young lady who called me in was very nice and pleasant, making sure to introduce herself and let me know she was going to be assisting Dr. Nagaraj, with whom my appt was with.
After about 15-20 minutes, they both came in.The Doctor introduced herself with a smile, and shook my hand and asked me about my problem in a calm, professional manner.
She wasted no time in looking at me,and immediately suggested what she thought it might be.
She explained what the next procedures would be,asked about allegies, and did what she needed to do.
During this time, all 3 of us engaged in a bit of friendly chit chat.
When finished,I got my paperwork and further instructions, and both let me know at separate times that my results would be given to me in 2 weeks at my follow-up appt. The Doctor shook my hand again on the way out, very nice.
At check-out,the ladies were smiling and having fun,and the Doctors assistant came after me to give me some more info about my condition.
Over all,it was a very pleasant visit and I am glad I went.

I went as a first time client for a skin check-up and some diagnostic tests. The front office staff were very nice and polite - the wait wasn't too long. The assistant, however, was very rude and impatient. I saw Dr. Nagaraj and she didn't seem very concerned with me or my questions - she seemed about as knowledgeable as a Clinique sales clerk at Belks and didn't really answer my questions. They rushed me out of there and sent me to the labcorp for the tests. They sent me a card stating the test results were back - no one called me to discuss them and they didn't make an appointment for me to review them with Nagaraj. I called and asked for them to send them to me and they made me send in a disclaimer but 5 weeks later I never received them. They finally faxed them to me when I called again. Was a total waste of my health insurance company's money - regret ever going there. Not a caring clinic.

I've been a patient with Blue Ridge Dermatology for years. The receptionist at the Cary office left this spring. I don't know if that has helped matters or made things worse. They have a main switchboard that makes appointments for both locations. I called last week for an appointment and gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes. I hate their canned message too. Today I called again and after 10 minutes actually got a live person on the other end. I can't get in for another 2 months. I'm not waiting that long.

Today I called again and after 10 minutes actually got a live person on the other end. I can't get in for another 2 months. I'm not waiting that long.

Pros: Doctor and nurse are nice.

Cons: Long waits get a human on the phone, long waits for appointments.

.

I felt quite rushed during my appt and I was also given poor advice to get a skin biopsy as the doctor said "you might as well since insurance covers it". Well, the skin biopsy was much more intrusive than was explained to me, I didn't really need it, and then I got a very large bill for it. They said it was a case of "he said she said" and ignored me. I think it is highly unethical to give such poor advice and not stand behind one's word and I really question if this wasn't some scam to make more money.

Pros: Good location

Cons: rushed, lied to, waited long time

the physician and the nurse I had contact with were excellent. The office staff at my first appointment were not friendly. When I called for a follow-up which they had said was to be in 3-4 months the office staff held very firm stating there was no way possible an appointment could be made in less than 6 months out. They were also very, very rude. There are plenty of dermatologists in the area. Pick somewhere that you will be able to interact with good nurses and doctors and pleasant office staff. This will not be your spot for both.

Pros: very good nurse and physician

Cons: office staff take this dermatology office out of the options, so rude

Blue Ridge called me to reschedule an appointment due to a conflict on their side. That was fine, except for the fact that the earliest appointment they had was over 6 months later! I really liked the doctor and the medical staff, so I hated to leave for another practice, but I was very disatisified with the long waits for appointments and the attitude of the office staff. I was a patient there for over 3 years and they treated me like I was not at all important to them.

I am really confused. I have had nothing but good experiances with Blue Ridge Dermatology's staff. Everyone from the people on the phone to the medical personal and the ladies at check-out have always been friendly. People are complaining about how long it takes to get an appointment if you're a new patient. WELL, YEAH!!! This is a specialist not your family doctor. How unfair for some people to say that the staff is rude and uncaring. The people I have had dealings with have always be helpful and caring. Sure, everyone has their bad days even us. If you want to see a wonder doctor with a lot of knowledge this is the place to go!

Pros: GREAT STAFF AND THE BEST DOCTORS

Cons: THE WAIT FOR NEW PATIENTS

We I called and appreantly this is true...No appts until April.Staff very rude, seems like they are upset and bewildred you would even dare to call and interupt their day with bothersome issues like " new patient"
I called another Dermatologist very nice and helpful and got an appt in 2 weeks!

I just called today (September 25, 2007) to make an appointment. Initially, the first lady who answered the phone was very short and a bit rude. When I told her I needed to make a new patient appointment she replied that they weren't taking new patients until April, but I said I'd go ahead and make an appointment anyways. She then transfered me to another line and the lady who I spoke to at that point was very helpful and gave me and appointment for December 3rd NOT April. So I would go ahead and call and get past the initial reception desk because I don't think they know what the hell they're talking about.

I have been going to Blue Ridge Dermatology for years. When I had a conflict with my son's school I needed to change my appointment to at least a 1/2 hour earlier. The appointment secretary sounded as if she were asleep or hung over. She was rude and curt. I was told to keep my appointment or else reschedule for April. When I said I couldn't wait she responded that I had no choice. When I called back to see if someone else could help, the woman that answered the phone was defensive and fresh. She even went as far as to yell at me. While the Dr's are very good, it isn't worth the frustration of the staff. I don't know where these people come from, but a manners class would be in order. My suggestion is that some of the Blue Ridge Dr's should call their own line to see how their phones are being answered. I assure you the Dr's woulnd't want to be treated like that by other offices.

Today it's Sept 14th, 2007. When I called to try to make an appointment, I was told the next available appointment for new patients wasn't until March or April of 2008! I find this ridiculous.

I really enjoyed Blue ridge the doctor's and the nursing staff are so friendly. They were very helpful to me and answered any question or concern I had. The doctor did a follow up call the next day which I wasn't expecting. That really made me feel good about my decision to go there. I can't imagine someone having a bad experience there. I was really pleased!!!!!!!

Don't waist your time. The Dr.'s may be fantastic but why go through the experience of meeting the front office staff. No customer service or compassion for trying to make an appointment.

Forget about seeing anyone in the practice if you have any kind of allergic reactions, or emergencies. You have to wait for weeks to get an appointment. The appointment staff isn't easy to talk to either - they make you feel like the last thing they want to do is make an appointment for you, and there's a whole litany of things they'll tell you that insurance doesn't cover even before you tell them what you are calling about. I like the doctor we've seen, and it seems like the office/appointment situation is beyond her control, but it's easier just going to the pediatrician, or urgent care.

Pros: physician is above average

Cons: Too many patients ??

Like other patients I was made to wait beyond my scheduled apppointment and then again inside the examining room. It appears this practice has no respect for the patients time. Patients have appointments and schedules and committments of tiem as well.

The front desk ladies when asked why it takes so long to be consulted say that they are not responsible for schedules but I suppose to collect money.

I wasted a week worth of tests with no results and diagnosis not to mention my valuable time.
Keep away from this place.

I live north of Raleigh and I travel 40 miles for my daughters to be treated at this practice. The doctor that sees my girls is absolutely WONDERFUL! When I say daughters I don't mean teenagers I mean kids. They are wonderful with kids! My kids are 8 and 11 now, but they started seeing the doctor several years ago. Like any other mother I am very hesitant on who treats my kids. Now that I found a great doctor I won't leave unless the doctor does. I have never had any problems with the practice in Raleigh. The check in staff, nurses, and even the check out staff have always been great to me and my family. I can't for the life of me understand the other reviews. I guess there are just some people you can't make happy no matter what you do. Everyone has bad days and no one is perfect. To bad all the people that love it at Blue Ridge (and yes they are busy which means there are a lot of happy patients who go there) don't give good reviews on this site. It's a shame we only write the bad and not the good, but I'm saying how great they are now!

If you are looking for a new Dermatologist this is a great practice to begin treating you and your family.

Pros: Wonderful Physicians

.

I have never had anything but positive experiences with this practice. I've never had to wait long at either the Raleigh or Cary locations and they physicians I have seen have all been wonderful. They really take the time to listen to your concerns, discuss all treatment options and answer any questions you may have. The check-out ladies at the Raleigh office do not have the most bubbly of personalities, but they are able, quick and thorough.

Nothing excuses sitting on a malignant melanoma biopsy results for 4 days.

The staff appeared to be very uncaring. I did not receive a thorough explanation of what to expect and one would think a phone call to be sure that the patient had taken care of the malenoma would be in order. None of that. I was told to see them again in 6 months, but after working with Cary Skin I was told that I needed to see a dermatologist every 3 months for the next couple of years.

I did get a followup call when I called the office to have my records and my son's records transferred to a fantastic dermatologist!

Very compassionate and competent group of female physicians and a top notch staff. Would refer anyone to any of these fine physicians. If you wait a little for your appointment, rest assured that you will find that the thorough care you receive is well worth the wait. If you ever have a concern, share it with the doctor or a staff member and it will be received as constructive criticism and action will be taken! I love this practice and take issue with the less the less-than complimentary comments made on Citisearch previously. Too bad the many very pleased patients can't spend their valued and precious time writing accurate comments to balance those of a few disgruntled, unhappy individuals which really misrepresent this quality practice.

Dr. Alspaugh is both compassionate and thorough. She always is professional. I visit her yearly, and both of my children have seen her. She treats all of us , but especially my teenage daughter, with gentle confidence that our 'problems' were managable.

I wouldn't say that this practice is bad, they are just too busy. You do wait at least a half hour in the waiting room and another half hour once you are in a room. You do feel like a number. The doctor I saw was nice/friendly and sincere in wanting to help with my problem. So far, I've been twice and I am still having the same issue. So don't expect a quick cure. At check out, I also had a rude experience. BOTH times, the lady was on a personal call and seems very bothered that I was interrupting her to pay. I thought that was unnecessary. If you are looking for a practice where you feel like a patient and not part of a cow herd, this is not for you.

After waiting 1 hour+ in the waiting room, I was sent to a room where I was treated by an overzealous doctor. She examined me but after determining that a few of my moles were "questionable", she was quick to offer to cut them out for an exorbitant per mole fee. After talking to others, it seems they are a little scalpel happy and enjoy cutting every little thing out of people. In summary, unless you enjoy letting a doctor take advantage of you and the health care system by cutting away unnecessarily, I would find another dermatologist. To add insult to injury, the staff person I paid when I left was quite rude when I asked if I could ask the doctor one more question that I forgot to ask. She insisted the doctor had already left when I could see her straight down the hall!

Doctors and Medical Assistants are pleasant. The office clerk, however, is very rude when accepting your payment for the visit.
