A few weeks ago I found a groupon ad for this company and thought the 59.00 + tip round trip from home to the airport was a good deal so I booked through groupon. That was the end of anything pleasant with this experience. I was 5 days out from my trip and I called the customer service number and they kind of helped. The wouldn't take a reservation over the phone they said it had to be online at their website. I went to their website and made the reservation and upon completion the website said that someone would call me to confirm the trip within 24-48 hours. After 48 hours I called them and not only did they tell me they had no reservation for me they told me they were too busy to take an order over the phone. At this point I wanted reassurance that the ride would show up as advertised. They wouldn't give me any sort of confirmation, even though the customer service person said that they would want that if they were taking a trip. After accomplishing nothing I asked for a refund- which I have to contact groupon for. After that, I contacted Discount Cab. I was greeted by a very pleasant person who promptly scheduled pick up and verified all the information was accurate on their end. They even went on to wish safe travels. This shows a person who is happy to be of service and won a customer for life. This is how Lajolla should have responded. If anyone from Lajolla reads this please call Discount Cab and schedule a pick up and incorporate that into your business.

Our experience with this company was awful. On the first leg the lady driver was close to 30 minutes late - called about 5 minutes before our scheduled pick up to say traffic on the 10 was really bad and she would be 15 minutes late. 20 minutes later I called her and she was "15" minutes away. Then she called - lost in our neighborhood; when I asked if she had a gps she said yes but our address wasn't there ( however no other cab, friend, etc has ever had a problem finding it with a gps). During our drive she stated that traffic was bad yesterday and she was late for that pickup as well We finally got to the airport - stressed as we were 30 minutes late into our travel plans.
When she dropped us off she said to expect a message on our phone where to meet the driver picking us up. Our flight was early, and no message was on the phone. When I called their number Everett said wow you are early - I asked if they had not been tracking the flight - he said no they never do - just show up when the initial order says to. I was shocked to hear a company that works solely on airport shuttles hasn't downloaded an app or set an airline tracker up for their flight pick-ups - which to me would be a common sense business idea - not to mention a wonderful customer service touch.
We finally get in the car and he doesn't have a gps either. He asked the quickest way to our home then took a different route anyway. When I asked him where he was going and noted we had never gone this way he stated after 27 years in Phoenix he knew the quickest way in a very condescending and rude way.

It was an awful experience and we will definitely never use them again nor would we recommend anyone else use them either.

Consequently we bought 2 Groupons, one for myself and one for my wife. We scheduled the company for a first pick-up, Everette arrived on time, was professional and everything worked out well. We did not use a Groupon at that stage and paid in full. When returning to Phoenix we used our first Groupon and were very surprised when Everette told us that he will not honor this Groupon for a round trip as he did not consider this '1 visit'. I was pretty perplex, as a so called snow bird who comes to Phoenix (first leg of visit) and leaves again (second leg of visit) I must admit that I did not understand that at all.
When we left Phoenix again a couple of weeks afterwards we scheduled Everette again, this time using our second Groupon. Everette arrived late; he had forgotten his mobile and got stuck at the gate of our housing area which was not manned yet at that time of the day. We actually borrowed him our mobile so that he could call another customer. Despite the initial delay everything worked out, we got to the right terminal one time. On our return flight we were held up by bad weather conditions, we informed Everette early on so that we would not need to come to the airport at 7pm, the originally scheduled pick-up time. He came back to us via text message and stated that he would not pick us up later! This put us into a difficult spot, when we finally arrived we struggled to find other means of transportation as we are living way north of the city, rather than 35 minutes it took us over 2h to finally get home. Interestingly enough we saw other passengers from our flight that had no difficulties with their scheduled pick-ups.
When we contacted Everette the next day to see whether he would honor the unused part of our Groupon for a later trip his short answer was simply 'no'.

This was now the 2nd time where Lajolla Express would deliver only 50% of the purchased service. Combined with the hassle of having no pick-up the previous evening we were very upset. We consequently informed Everette that we consider this behavior fraudulent and would leave negative feedback for him. He called us more or less right away to tell us that we had committed fraud as we had bought two Groupons and that we also did not tip him enough.

I couldn't be more upset with the way this Company handled my reservation. I made the reservation 1 month ago. I received a generalized Email 2 days ago stating the Co was taking no rsvtns prior to 9/16. My reservation was for 9/15. I called La Jolla back and spoke with the manager Everette. He first told me he would not honor my rsvtn at all regardless of how long its been becasue they were inundated with Groupons and lost an employee. After telling him how disppointed I was because it was my wedding and honeymoon trip, he reluctantly agreed to do it, but told me he had to pick me up 3 1/2 hrs before my flight. I told him that would not do. He then asked for at least a 30 minute window on either side of my reserved time. I advised I could call a cab quicker. He was then going to smash us in with other people (which is also not what I paid for). I advised him the reason we needed a van to ourselves was because we had 3 ppl and 6 large suitcases. He said he was doing the best he could to make me happy and I was giving him a hard time. Hard time? I was only reminding him of the resevation I made a month ago, which he repeatedly told me he didn't have anymore because they were all discarded! Great way of doing business when you get "too busy", just ignore promises and throw reservations in the garbage. He told me to contact Groupon to get my money back since he couldn't make me happy no matter what he did, and that 5 days was plenty of time for me to make other arrangements and he didn't feel bad at all. I reminded him that he was really trying to make himself happy because he over booked, and was in no way making any concessions for me as his customer. What a complete jerk! This Co clearly does not care about their custimers. I would never rely on them for a round trip ride, that's for darn sure. You'd be stranded at the airport!
