As I was walking along Cedros I passed by a store that begged me to come in. There were bright floral aprons and a warm leather chair; the boutique oozed southern comfort and hospitality. Upon entering, I was not disappointed. A visual feast, The French Cowgirl is a little bit of everything.

The owner, Sunny Elizabeth, is the French Cowgirl, a Scottsdale, AZ, native, she grew up in a culture of Cowboys and Indians. Rows of antlers, and trophy mounts line the walls along with acclaimed wildlife painter, Diane Whitehead. Customized furniture, lighting, and accessories exhibit an eclectic rustic elegance. The only importer of Brazil Baroque hand painted furniture, she takes pride in her eclectic tastes, and I agree. The store is a wonderful celebration of the unconventional.

Sunny also offers a wide mix of personal accessories and clothing from five different designers based out of L.A. The clothing drapes the walls, furniture, and floor space, making the entire boutique seem more like walking into one's own large walk-in closet, rather than a shop. Above Sunny's desk is a large (GIGANTIC) Elk trophy which looms above, watching the boutique. Sunny calls him "lollipop," because he licks her ponytail anytime she stands up. Come by to peruse the endless wonders of The French Cowgirl, or simply to stare in awe of Lollipop.
