Cons: none

I greatly enjoyed my experience at Peep, The food was fantastic, the service was very good, and the atmosphere was cool. I started my evening with the best mojito in NYC (and only $6 during happy hour)... I also had the cherry marguarita (not so great). Next, I had the vegetable dumplings (only so so) and chicken satee (fair) but when the main entree came Dear Lord... I had the lemongrass rib eye (my mouth just watered thinking about it) one friend had the pinapple aged pork chop (mind blowingly great) and the other had a shrimp dish of which I did not try. We shared an order of Pad Thai which was terrific. We ended our meal with three desserts the chocolate mousse, coconut icecream and vanilla creme brulee. Each were more delicious than the next.
The one thing about peep I did NOT like was the bathroom with the one way mirrored walls. It's just WRONG watching someone eat while you're doing your "business" I'm glad I went to the bathroom after dinner was over.

OK, I have been to Peep several times and have always enjoyed the food and drink...

Last night I went there with a friend who endured a long (crazy long) travel day. We arrived on a Thursday night at 10:15 and were quickly told the kitchen is closing soon and we had about an hour.. No problem, Thai is quick.

As soon as we sat down we were asked several times if we knew what we wanted.. We kept asking for a minute as we didnt even get to open the menu. We order drinks. Julies drink seemed perfect (looked fruity), my drink came wrong... No damage so we moved on..

We order. Appetizer comes in like four minutes.. Uhg.. We eat. Entree comes literally 3 minutes once we finish appetizer. Total time in place was like 25 mins at this point.

So.... We start eating and we are told the bartender wants to go home... OK, I am seeing this movie and already know the ending. We order another round. For the SECOND time I tell them "No Lime". Julie's drink came correct but she even told me (almost bet me) that they would mess it up.. Well... THERE WAS A DAMN LIME.. Dude, I hate lime. No, I detest lime. As soon as the drink was on the table I removed the lime from the tainted drink and plunked it in the water glass. I wish the splash landed on the waiter.....

OK so we are finishing our drink and than the waiter tells us we have to leave as they want to close.... I was like what???? We were 86thd. Anyhow I couldn't believe it. I mean we were like rushed in and out...

Sadly the food was good but I cant get past the crappy service.... If I were with one of my usual suspects I wouldn't have left but I was cool about it. Sadly I gave a 20% tip (looked at receipt this am). Why??

Anyway, good food and sh&#ty service results in the famous.... "Lifetime Ban"

Peep has one of the best lunch specials I've found in the city. For $7 you can get an appetizer of dumplings, or salad, or one of their other many yummy bites, and then an entree of curry or noodles with your choice of protein. You may laugh at the name, but try the face towel noodle. It is addictive. It is delicious. I miss it enormously now that I work in midtown! Seriously, I don't know how they make the face towel noodle sauce but I have to eat it with chopsticks just to make it last longer. The face towel noodle is also available for dinner, when it is served with shellfish. They are very flexible to dietary needs though -- just tell them if you only want chicken, or tofu, or don't want egg.

Peep also has good if slightly expensive cocktails -- like a strawberry mojito-type drink.

Went last night for dinner and I love this place! The food was delcicious and the atmosphere is so fun! And the prices are very reasonable. But the bathrooms take the cake! I thought the service was great as well. I will definitely be back.

I thought the food was about as good as the any thai take out in the city. The pink theme does not equal chic, sorry. It looks just plain tacky to me. Finally, the tables are way too crowded. (a woman almost sat on my dinner as she was leaving) and the staff was expedient only when collecting our check and kicking us out.

I actually had the pleasure of dining at Peep. It's an interesting atmosphere to say the least. Being a fellow Thai-American myself, I have to say the food is not exactly "Thai" since it is catered more towards Americans. Although, they still maintain some of the "Flavor Authenticity". Nice place to visit for dinner but lunch... FUHHGETABBOUTIT!!!! It's a maddhouse. Can't reccommend delivery either, unless you order ahead 2 hours, you just might get it by lunch time.

Peep is a great place for lunch in the SoHo area. You get a lot for less than $10, especially in a group. And since it's one of the hottest spots in SoHo it also means it usually crowded. It's very hard to get a lunch reservation for a large party after 1pm and expect to be rushed out of the restaurant once the crowds get busy in the evenings. Service can be good, but for the most part I'd strongly suggest going for their lunch specials.

The food is very good, just enough to fill you up if you get an appetizer as well. The decor is very trendy and most people don't leave without using the bathroom at least once. If you have a phobia about possibly being watched than I wouldn't suggest going here.

I went there couple times for dinner and lunch specials... Food was good, not too impressive, but it was good enough. The atmosphere is cool. I wasn't impressed with their bathroom. Bar 89's bathroom is more cool. Since this place is not too crowded, I was able to enjoy the food and have some conversation with my friends.

You know when a place is named after its restrooms it can't have much else going for it. The food is okay, but the portions are small and overpriced. Seating is very uncomfortable. Once we were seated at a long, bar-like table with seats that were little more than rubber bands stretched over metal...strange and painful! Bright, loud, and obnoxious. If you really must see the bathrooms with the transparent (from the inside) doors, go on ahead.

I've been to Peep twice and both were great experiences. Its trendy, upbeat atmosphere creates a vibe that enhances the dining experience in such a way that everything you talk about at dinner seems that much more interesting. The appetizers are awesome and the fish entrees are always fresh and have a unique flare. The best part is that everything is priced very reasonably; therefore, you get a trendy NYC experience without paying typical prices. Also the service was great and the hostess was very friendly. Great Mojitos too!

Good thai food at reasonable prices. Freakishly fun bathrooms to check out. Their cocktails are good, but pricey.

Peep is fun and chic - the drinks have a one-word name and both sound and taste good. The bartender is also very generous with the alcohol. My friend and I shared 2 appetizers - the calamari salad was great, with a trio of amazing sauces. I was a little disappointed with the "black pasta" which was supposed to have black squid ink. It reminded me of the typical flat fried noodles that you can get in Chinatown ... for 1/3 of the price. All in all, Peep had tasty food and a friendly staff. Check it out.

Peep is a fun and affordable place to grab lunch. The service isn't great but the food makes up for it. Look for the utlra-cheap lunch menu that offers 7-8 dollars/plate and comes with a complimentary appetizer. I would recommend just about everything on the menu. The salmon dish is a personal favorite and the face towel noodles with tofu is a close second. The service could be much better. The waiters try to push you out of your seat when it's busy and completely forget about you when it slows down. Definitely check out the bathrooms when you go here. You're sure to catch some existential French film playing above the toilet and the one-sided mirrors are a bit of a headtrip. It's always fun to stand outside and point at patrons as soon as they enter the restrooms. I kid, of course.

...Now I love it. It was a mix between modern and asian food. Just delicious. The hostess was very nice. We were promptly seated, the server was really smiling, nice, helpful concerning what to eat. Stupid thing but you have to see that, thought. The rest room was... I've never seen that before. A new experience. Love the place the people, the ambience. Go there once in your life!

After reading some reviews below, I went to dinner not expecting Thai cuisine and I'm glad I did. The food was delicious and generous and well priced, especially for Soho. It was definately fusion, not Thai. Maybe the pad thai, massaman and green curry are traditional but my friends and I were more adventurous inspired by the spirit of the menu. The scallop "ceviche" was flavorful and light, yellowfin tuna special was mouthwateringly good, nice and rare inside. They love ginger, luckily I do too. The drinks really were interesting and well done, the champagne, vodka, peach schnapps concoction made me feel bubbly. And apparently Peep used to be much more infused with neon pink, I only noticed one splash of color over the bar.

I went to Peep with a group of 5 people on a Thursday night without reservations and even though we were seated promptly, we were seated at the bar seats where everyone was passing back and forth every two seconds. However, when we requested the next available real table, the staff was happy to comply. The food is not as good as at SEA, but there were some notable dishes like the calamari or the dumplings...the pad thai was a bit blah...however the decor is pretty funky and the bathroom kept my friends and I entertained for a good 20 minutes hah...

I am a die hard peep lover. I have taken practically every guest that has come to visit me in NY and hooked a few New Yorkers onto Peep as well. Great food (spinach and corn dumplings and massamman curry), very friendly and no nonsense service and a clean and funky bathroom. The secret is the lunch menu which offers a complimentary appetizer with every entree ordered. The bill is approximately $25 for 2 at lunch without drinks. This is the best thing in Soho. Not pretentious and very economical.

I had the Pad Thai and the noodles were sticky. The Waitstaff were very nice and suggested swordfish for my husband he enjoyed his meal. We had the pot-stickers which were great and a tempura dish that was great. The prices were fantastic. The seating was if they were trying to get the maximum amount of people into the restaurant, so be nice to your neighbor when you dine here. My husband said the portions were very small, but if my main course was good to eat the portion would've been fine for me.

I love the atmorphere @ peep! The staff is very kind and well trained, they're fast, they are always prompt to jump behind the bar and fix drinks, they know details of every item in the menu and make excelent recomendations. My first time there I happened not to like the Crab Croquette apt that i ordered and they were happy to change it for me without making no big deal. And the staff is also young, energeic and hot!!!! It's the perfect restaurant for NY life style, it got cool design, awsome drinks and food and lot's of good looking people eating and hanging at the pink bar... I got enough reasons to keep coming back!!!

Last week I went to Peep with a couple of friends again and was totally dissapointed about what's happening with the place that I thought it would be my favorite if I lived in this town. We were completely ignored. Although they might say that they were busy but what we saw was a group of waiters talking to each other while 2 boys, I guessed they were busboy, were running back and forth like crazy. We tried to get the attention from our waitress ( the chinese-like with weird-eye girl) but nothing happened, she totally avoided to talke to us. Fortunately, we got the busboy, this busboy was so nice to us, although he was so busy. Last but not least, don't expect anything from the Brazilian manager, he's useless!!! no service mind!!!...he might have thought that he was hired to be a model!!! ...eellll

I went to this Thai place because of the glowing reviews on citysearch, but I must admit I left dissapointed. Sure the restaurant location and decor are trendy but the miniscule menu of this place offers little variety and choices. The menu was so small I thought I was handed the wine list. I could tell it's one of these untraditional "hip" Thai places that they call "fusion" when I ate the much hyped beef ragout. The sauce tasted like italian marinara mixed with soy sauce! I guess the fusion there was Thai fused with Olive Garden. Believe me, I'm not one of these Thai rookies who base all Thai places by the Pad Thai because it's the only dish they recognize on the menu. You know it's bad when the only thing they boast about is the cool bathroom! Trust me, after this place, you will deffinitely need one.

I just happened to stumble on to this gem. A good value with a incredible vibe, in addition the wait and bar staff were friendly, welcoming and fun.

Peep is good for out of towners, defintely not locals. The food is good, very good, but very little portions. Don't think of sharing, if you are share a few plates. The pad-thai serving was a handful sized. The dumplings are fantastic. Tried it, but don't think I'd go back unless I had guests in town - who don't eat a lot.

I've been to Peep many times before and had a great experience every time...until today. When my group complained to our waiter about a cake cutting fee that involved no cutting, the manager came over to the table and basically told us that it was our fault for not knowing that their policy was just to serve the plates, not to cut. Although we did not mind $2/ person cutting fee, we certainly mind the way the manager treated us. Just because an 18% gratuity (which was taxed) is included in the bill does not mean that you don't have to pay attention to the service, let alone be outright rude to the customers. Despite the good food, good atmosphere, and cheap price, I will not return to the restaurant with that kind of service.

I've been to Peep several times and the food has always been good. The restaurant has a variety of menu selections and for the price you pay, it's worth it. However, on my last visit the service was so bad I'll never return. The host sat us at the table next to the bathroom. We had a party of five and he stuck a chair on the end of the table so that anyone who wanted to go to the bathroom kept bumping into the person in the chair. We asked to move several times and although other tables were available the host would not change our seats. He was so rude, we just took up another table. Plus, the restaurant charged us tax on the food we ate AND the 18% gratuity charged on groups of five or more, a no no.

Peep is such a "trendy trap". Like a tourist trap, this place attracts people who are looking to check out the fun and voyeuriustic bathrooms! The food was okay in my book - but the drinks are fun, flavorful and inventive! There are so many of these thai places popping up, that I am quite honestly getting a little sick of thai! So - the fact that this spot has great bathrooms and drinks definitely keeps it on the top of my thai list. You MUST visit this place once. And if you're looking to try thai again - go somewhere else - (perhaps SEA in Williamsburg or ISLE on Bleeker)

great place to take nyc newbies/visitors...brought couple of old college friends here and they were impressed with the trendy style and atmosphere. definitely try as many appetizers as you can...pad thai, and most other entrees i tried were just good as well...i like this place more for the experience than for the food, but the food ranks up there as well. don't forget to wash your hands before your meal.

Peep is my favorite Thai resaurant in the City. The Calimari app is some of the best I've ever had. You'll get high quality food for reasonable prices! Everyone I have ever taken there said the food was great!

I've been to PEEP several times and it's a great place for out-of-towner, make sure they visit the bathroom. Fun for small crowds, but not a romantic place. Food is great, with some classic Thai dishes and a few surprisingly creative plates. My favorite is the seared snapper.

My best friend brought me here for the first time for some lunch and a drink. She couldn't stop raving about Peep b/c of the overall quality and low price. Wow she was right. The service so pleasant and accomodating, the FOOOd is wonderful, and the minimal cost is always a bonus. I continue to come back to Peep and tell everyone I can about it. I reccomend the Pad Thai, which I can't say I have had any better...and the Faint cosmo is $10, but DELecious! Go to Peep you won't regret it!

With 10 people on a Friday night at 10pm, we arrived promptly and with confirmed reservations, it took them about 30 minutes to seat us. Then we found out we were sitting at the bar and on stools! It wasn't too comfortable. The wait staff's service was quick and attentive. The food was the most unique dishes I've ever had and fantastic! For appetizers, we had seared scallops and calamari. The duck is similar to the roast duck you get in Chinatown. The Black Noodles - chow fun noodles with squid ink was great! It was a little spicy, but the best chow fun I've ever had! For dessert, we had fried ice cream, mini toasts with green tea ice cream & this condensed milk dip. It's a small-ish place, not good for groups.

Peep is a great restaurant to know - great food, never had a problem getting a table, trendy, but not painfully so and tremendous value. A must for taking unpretentious guests from out of town - just make sure they visit the restrooms.

Pros: Value, Food, Ambience

I love Peep! I can't believe that a place like this, with the cool bathrooms, inviting bar, wonderful Thai food, AND is in SOHO could be so cheap. Dinner for four with drinks was a little less than $100. Amazing. Try the ginger calamari and all of the saute dishes were good. I've had better Pad Thai but it was still good for people who don't eat Thai too much. Go immediately.

First you must use the restroom. The food was delicious. There were so many different flavors combined into one, the taste was unique. Decor was enjoyable as well.

This place was wonderful!! My friends and I hold a monthly dinner party and one of the girls picked this place. I was a little nervous after reading a few of the reviews listed here but we didn't experience any problems. The wait staff was friendly, our waiter gave us great recommendations, and we were seated right away (party of eight). The food was amazing! We had a bunch of apps and then entrees - not one person in the group complained and everyone's plates were clean at the end! The drinks were also incredible!!!

The bathroom is definitely worth a visit, even though it's fun the first time only. What motivates me to go back is its food. The green curry is very good, the duck is superb and the dumpling appetizer is tasty. I find the ambience a little too "pink" but it's what separates itself from other Thai restaurants in town.

With all the glitz and glam that Lower Manahattan has to offer us in culinary and visual delights .. Pepp has found a way to stand alone .. where most restraunts in the city offer an elegantly overpriced menu with mediocore food and zazzed up drinks wih a fizzel effect in our tatse buds ... Peep offers fantastic drink , the triple berry cozmo is by far the best I have ever had , and all the food from the calamari to the strawberry shortcake is unbelievably affordable and melts in your mouth - and beyond the late hours , great food and service , fab drinks , and hot waiters ... is the HOT HOT bathroom ... Ill let you go and see it for yourself .. but be sure to wear your best tighty whities.. ;)

I took my very dear friend to this place and it was a nightmare. When we arrived we were never greeted, and walked in on our own to find a seat. then they yelled at us and told us to go back to the bar and wait to be seated. the dizzy hostess told us 5 minutes for a table and yet there were 3 tables avaialbale in the back. Once we were seated by the door way it was cold and it took 15 minutes before we ordered and an hour later our food never showed up. The waitress naver cam back and I had to search for the manager who was very nasty and expected me to pay for food I never ate. We walked out and were very disgusted with the place. its Higly over rated

Nouveau Thai food and a long neon-lit bar in a futurama setting make Peep a primo spot for the Soho set.
