Social..Social..Social! Where to begin? This has to be one of my favorite spots on the west side. My favorite is their Roof Deck, I get my workout hiking up those stairs but it is totally worth it. The drinks just keep on comin! Their happy hour is ridiculous, there are a TON of different options for practically $5. Lets just say..vodka tonics are my best friend. Last time I was there it was a month or two ago, so def not roof deck weather, our bartender Louise had us trapped-- I came in for 1 drink left one too many later! Seriously cannot wait to come back! Great GREAT times here!
I love the open bar deal they have here. You can pay at the door and then have "all you can drink" and we even had our own bartender on the 2nd floor. And the bartenders know how to make a great Mojito! I love this place for private events.
Pros: open bar
What a horrible, horrible person that man must be who hurt that poor woman at Social. I hope to god the find him and he gets his ass kicked in jail.
came in this past monday for their trivia night. had a great time. wish it was a bit busier but the trivia host made it a ton of fun! ordered the sliiders...supper yummy! the happy hour drinks were perfect for a monday night..can't beat 3.50 coors light bottles.
I am extremely picky when it comes to hamburgers. Someone told me that Social's were the best. And I have to agree. They are amazing...and also come with a plentiful serving of fries. I don't drink but my boyfriend said they made a great Manhattan. The waitress we had was also very friendly and kept my soda glass filled. I will definitely be back soon to try other food.
Pros: great bar food
I was invited to a birthday party last Friday night and had a blast. They had a private room on the 3rd floor and open bar. The music and drinks were awesome. I thought it was cool that they had coat racks on our floor so I didn't have to walk all the the way downstairs if I needed to smoke. I could just grab my coat and walk outside on the patio. This was a plus! I will definitely be back here!
Pros: Music, 3rd Floor Patio
Cons: They ID you at door even if you look way over 21
I like Social because it's a good mix of both a pub/lounge and also plays good music that you may hear at a more upscale place. The food is really good and I love coming for Monday Night Trivia. Oh and I love how the staff always remembers me when I come in.
Pros: Staff and Trivia
I frequent this bar often, either with friends on the weekends or with co-workers (I work 3 blocks away), and everytime I'm here, I have a really nice time. This place is lovely, and the staff is really friendly, not to mention the food --- oh, the sliders (yummy!) and the burgers (my favorite is the cajun). What I like about it is that they make you feel right at home, maybe that is why I keep coming back:). Whether I come in during lunch or happy hour, this bar is always rockin'...thanks for the good times!
Pros: Friendly, Neighborhood Bar, Reasonably Priced
I recently had a private party again at Social, and we had a wonderful evening. For the second straight year our event was a success. Social once again went above and beyond and we greatly appreciate everything the staff did for us. I lost count of how many times the manager came upstairs to check in and make sure things were going well. Our bartender was just amazing and I would certainly ask for her again next year.
We will definitely be planning another party at Social.
I came with some out of town friends and they couldn't stop talking about how fun this place was! We came for dinner and a few cocktails and ended up coming back the next night. Our waitress was really sweet and recommended some great food! When we moved to the bar our bartender was a lot of fun. He was making jokes and doing goofy dance moves behind the bar. We had a great time! I will definitely be back with more friends!
One of the best run bars in the city, went w/ a large group of friends unplanned and couldn't have been better taken care of. We were orginally only going for a couple of drinks to pre-game before hitting a club but ended up staying the night. Can't say enough of what a good time we had!!!
social is great. bartenders are funny polite and friendly.the floors are different throughout and great for meeting people. table service and food great. i seriously cant fault this bar.
Pros: service food drinks atmosphere
I frequent social often, and whenever I'm there, whether it be with some friends or co-workers, we are always treated with such politeness. I've noticed some new staff working there, and they're very personable and attentive. I always have a great time when I visit -- the food is tasty, the drinks are priced just right (especially since everything else seems to be costly), and the overall atmosphere is very laid-back and casual. There's none of this pretentiousness, as is the case in other places. And the music is great, too -- a mix of all sorts of stuff, which is nice. If you're looking for something different, and want to feel at home, then this is your place -- one will not be disappointed.
Pros: Attentiveness, Drinks, Food, Location
Great scene to meet people. I danced my a s s off, loved the scene and would totally do it again. Super close to our hotel which made it even better.
Pros: Great music, fun crowd, easy going all around
Cons: Busy, Loud (?)
Your Bouncer/Doorman is the best! He knows everyone and makes you feel safe while you are there, but is sooo entertaining. You need to give him a raise and adversite him! Our server was wonderful, beautiful woman with dark hair, and really long eyelashes. We were a party of about 20 and she didn't miss a beat! The service and staff were wonderful! We will be back next time we are in NYC!
Pros: Great location & atmosphere
Cons: tiny bathroom :)
This place rocks! Stopped in w/ some college buddies for March madness, and this place was packed! What a crowd! Everyone was screaming and cheering! The bartenders were great, too, and the food was awesome. I'll be in every day until the finals:) See ya around Social.
Pros: Sports Bar
I had a great time, the people and the staffs are very friendly. I like the concept of a bar in every floor. Worth the trip
would recoment this place to anyone heading down that way. funniest irish girl behind the bar . great service with a smile when we did sit to eat and good food and specials!!
Pros: service, beer prices, food
Went in Monday night and they had a pretty good crowd. The upstairs was closed, but that's alright, because the main bar was enough. Couple colleagues joined me later on. They come here often, so I went off of their recommendation. I never knew, but they did Trivia Night mondays. This was the 1st time I heard or saw anything like this before, but I will admit it was interesting. The guy who was running this, was nice and had a good crowd contributing. I'll come back just for that! What I liked about this place was how laid-back it is, and the service is really good. Loved the sliders and the wings! The waitress working that night said there's an outdoor patio....definitely coming back to check that out when it warms up!
Pros: Nice bar, great service, great affordable food
I was dragged to this bar on Saturday night and I couldn't believe how horrible it was. The bouncers are on a power trip and they prefer a female crowd. My guy friends were told the bar was packed when that was far from true. The drinks are weak and the crowd was very odd. I recommend you go elsewhere
Pros: Large Space and Location
Cons: Bouncers, Bartenders and Crowd on Weekends
Came in over the weekend with some out-of-town friends. We were somewhat on the early side (9p), so the bar wasn't as packed, and we were able to get a seat right away. The waitress was so polite and very attentive. Not once did we need to ask for more drinks, or extra napkins - she was right there every time. My friends and I had such a great time, that by the time we had to leave, we wanted to stay longer. We would have it they didn't have an early morning flight to catch the next day. We left around midnight, and the place was packed. Thanks Social for leaving a lasting impression on my friends' last night in the Big Apple.
Pros: Location, Service, Food
I have been to Social for office Happy Hours, Thursday/Friday night drinks with old friends and, recently, a b-day celebration for my husband. Each time, I enjoyed great, friendly service from their bartenders and staff, consistently tasty food and drinks, as well as clean bathrooms (which is sooo important to me!)
In terms of appetizers, the Mini Deep Dish Pizzas had a delicate, flaky crust that went great with the marinara dipping sauce! The Hibachi Beef Skewers were really juicy and flavorful, with a slight crunch as you took at bite. And, the chicken fingers were surprisingly savory, not cliche at all! You also got the most for your buck, since the serving sizes are generous.
In terms of planning an event at Social, it worked out SO well for me! Maggie, the Special Events Coordinator, was very helpful in letting me know my options. We decided to reserve the 3rd floor loft. It had a wonderful view overlooking the illuminated bar. There was plenty of standing and seating room, with plush, stylish couches, upholstered bar stools and hard wood floors. The windows were adorned with flowing drapes and the motif was just overall warm and inviting, with series of red, orange and cream colors. Since it was a cold winter night and I expected 40 guests, it was also very nice that we had our own expansive coatrack! It was just a BLAST! Every guest left with big smiles and only the highest compliments about my location choice!!
Thanks, again, to the wonderful staff at Social - I highly recommend!!
I visited this place with friends just before the holidays and had a nice time. It was packed during happy hour, full of guys (ladies). Good service and bar menu. This is a comfy place to socialize and be social :D
If you get there around 6P you can snag a table. There's an upstairs, but I didn't see it (private party).
Pros: Good to socialize and meet people
I've been coming to Social for over 2 years now, and just wanted to let you guys know that I really enjoy coming here....you always are on top of your game - the staff is pleasant and very accommodating, as is the manager. I love the bar food - totally reasonable for what you get and how much of it. My office is located around the corner, and I've recommended this place to them several times, and each time they've 'thanked' me for suggesting you guys, and what great time they've had there. Just wanted to write you guys a review, since I truly enjoy coming to your bar...thanks for the great time!
Pros: Highly Recommended
I attended a going-away party for a friend of mine last weekend, and what a great place they chose to have it at. I've walked past this spot plenty of times, and even thought I've seen people go-in and come-out, I never actually went in, until now. Geez, what have I been missing?! Our party was on the 3rd floor (note to self to not pretend to be in shape when climing all those stairs) which just walking by, I would have never figured this place was this huge. AND, they have an outdoor patio, which was still open - how awesome is that?! The staff there is so nice, and polite, which is rare to find in the city, and even in Times Square. I love everything about this place - the decor, the music, the location, the service....way to go Social. You've made my list of places to be at on a weekly basis - I'll make sure to check out the other levels next time I'm there:)
Pros: Location, Service, Decor
gave the waiter a 20..she claimed i gave her a 10
gave the bartender a 50 and needed 40 back for change..she took my 50, ignored me, and served someone else. i had to ask for my own change back.
just bring exact cash there.
Pros: none if the bartender tries to cheat you out of your money
Cons: they don't know how to return change
I've frequented this hot spot for a few years now and everytime I go there, it's the jump off. It's an amazing place for a crew of friends to stop at after work and on the weekend. Food there is better than most bars and the outside rooftop bar is amazing during the summer. Whether you are a sports guy, a club girl or anything in between, this bar has it all for everyone. Check it out the next time you are in the area.
Pros: plenty of bars to get drinks
This is a true New York bar! Great people, great atmosphere. Prices are average, but happy hour is fun. I've been to two parties here- one for a TV wrap party which was GREAT, and one that my friends threw me for my 23rd birthday. A great mix of people- not too elitist and not too casual either- although you can fit in if you're either or. Recommended if you live in NY or if you're visiting.
Pros: Atmosphere, Happy Hour, Drinks
Cons: If you want to bar hop, there's not a lot else around- Times Square isn't too far though.
I really enjoyed myself their with friends while have some drinks. The service is exceptional and the food was great. This spot I would highly reccomend to anyone to check out
I had a great time here. I was alone on business and came here for the first time. The place was packed and the yankees/Mets were on every tv. They did not bat an eye when I asked them to put on the Red Sox; very friendly staff. The barmaid was the most efficient I ever saw. The place very crowded and I think only two bartenders but she was filling my glass as soon as it was empty. It was a friendly crowd and I hung out there for several hours
I held a prive party at Social last weekend and it was AMAZING. The staff was extremely nice and upfront by answering any questions I had about pricing and booking. From the moment we entered the bar up until the very last minute of exiting, everyone was just super nice. Once my guests and I arrived, we were all very impressed with the room issued. Our bartender was ridiculously nice and it felt like she was apart of the party! I can't express enough how amazing the staff was. I will definitely hold another function at Social as we all enjoyed our drama free night! You SERIOUSLY need to have your next party here!
Pros: was abble to book the open bar and private room worry free
II'm in my 20's, so as you can imagine, I do a whole lot of bar and club-hopping, and this is definitely my favorite place to go out for drinks. In a city full of high-strung and rude people, Social is the place to get away from it all. Hands down the BEST bar crowd in the city. Everyone there is always so friendly and fun and don't be surprised if the person standing next to you strikes up a conversation with you.
And the staff? Amazing! Incredibly friendly and attentive. After a few times there, I am friendw with most of them now.
The food is excellent, as are the drinks. And cheap, too!
All in all, this place is a sure thing for a great time. My favorite bar in the city!
Pros: Drinks, price, crowd, staff
Cons: Honestly, none!
And Social it is. It started with the bouncer, a big tattooed bruiser of a guy who immediately got on my good side when he asked me for ID. I'm 57! I cudda kissed him! Throughout the night he was on the lookout for members of our group, shepharding them around, making sure that they found us in the huge place. Definitely one of New York's best bouncers. Then the folks inside. For some reason, the top floor was all khaki fratboys. Loud, obnoxious alpha males drowning out the TVs, gaffawing at the largely endowed female table mates. The middle floor was private parties, The first floor, where we wound up, was YO BUDDY! Heaven. Everybody was our friend. Just folks from nowhere started to talk to us, join us. Have their picture taken with us (photography by THE BOUNCER!). It was more fun than a fistful of Latinas (almost). The ONLY negative was the promised OUTSIDE space on the third floor. It was small, crowded and stand-up only. Definitely NOT the place to relax and have a brew. Avoid it, and stick to the ground floor. You'll be happy. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers
Pros: great bouncer, friendly atmosphere, tolerant of large groups
Cons: outside space is less than advertised
I organized a small grouping and had such a wonderful time! It was perfect! The food was great, the bartendars were terrfic and basically the entire vibe was really fun. Also, the manager and the staff kept checking in to make sure eveything was going as it should.
I'm going to highly recommend Social to my friends and will probably be stopping in again for a drink, or two, or three :)
I had my going away party from my job at Social and it was fantastic. The staff was great, the drinks were good, it was an all-around great celebration. I would recommend that you book your next event at Social. you will not be disappointed.
Pros: Service, drinks, staff
great food - great staff - loved it and can't wait to come back. St. Patrick's day was such a blast. highly reccommended.
Pros: food, happy hour
I recently hosted a party at Social and we couldn't have had a better time. The staff was very helpful and responsive to emails as our date drew nearer, and once we were there we had excellent service. The bartenders, bouncers, and night managers all did whatever they could to make our night run smoothly. The music was great, the drinks were fabulous, and we all had a great time! I would highly reccomend Social for anyone looking for a fun night out!
This is a great place to meet with friends after work. The staff is friendly and the food was awesome. I will definetly be back and recommend it to friends.
Pros: friendly staff, great food
What an awesome place to relax! Great, affordable food! Friendly staff...reasonably priced drinks....and the locals - gotta love a place that is filled w/ them! I've found my new 'local' pub. Thanks for making me feel welcome!
Pros: Cheap Beer, Good Food, Locals, Friendly
Good place to meet people after work. Good music, Resonable prices, and friendly staff. Good for singles annd sport lovers.
Pros: social scene
Cons: crowded downstairs but not upstairs
Great pub to unwind at after work. Casual, pub atmosphere. If you like to have beer and some good bar food, this is your place.
If this place is having a bachelor party---the guys tend to be gorgeous. PACKED around Halloween-time. Lots of tourists/theatre-goers, but they're usually gone after 11:30.
Went to Social last week with a bunch of friends and had a great time! The second floor was closed for private parties, but the third floor was open....what a great space! The outdoor patio is the best! It was a bit busy up there, but we didn't mind. We had a great time overall! Brendon the bartender is such a sweetie:) We'll definitely be back....
Pros: Outdoor space, happy hour
Social always has a really great crowd. Friendly people, fun staff, and great drink specials. I recommend this place highly to anyone looking to have a good time after work.
Pros: drinks, friendly people, music
Fun place to go after work, alot of people afterwork.
This is a great place to go after work! The happy hour, food, and staff are all great. I love the Pub feel on the first floor and the outside deck on the 3rd.
Social is my favorite after work bar. Me and my friends meet there every week and we always have a great time. Drink specials are affordable and food is awesome. The staff is really nice, we especially like the 2nd floor pub room.
Pros: staff, great food, music
THE FOOD was good
but the workers were so rude they kept askin me out
it was like so sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: food , dinks, me
Cons: workers, workers, horney
My girlfriend threw me a surprise party here. We had a room on the second floor all to ourselves. The staff was very courteous and removed any unwanted guests. Everyone at the party had a phenomenal time. This is a great place to throw a party.
Pros: Courteous Bouncers, Drink Prices, Atmosphere
I recently met friends at Social after work and I had such a great time. They have a large selection of beer tap and bottle and the service was awesome. The dj played great music and the food was terrefic. I highly recomend Social as great place to meet with friends or make new one's.
Pros: great HH specials, 3 floors, great dj
