Iv never written a review before but since this has to do with the health of my children I felt it was very important to let other parents know what they are getting into if they choose to go to Dr Mark Urbachs office. My first experience was not very pleasant due to the old office and crowd of people there. I let that. Go because for te five minutes te doctor saw us, I felt he was ok.\nI rook my daughter for her treatment a bit later and again not the beat service but I dealt and understood that they get busy and these things happen. First, we were there 15 \nmin before our 9am appt and didn't get seen till 10:30, my \ndaughter had to go fasting ao she hadn't eaten since early\n evening the night before. They totally changed the\ntreatment plan, instead of fillings they did caps. while my \ndaughter was in getting treatment done, she got sick and \nthrew up and no one informed me. She was in ther for 4 \nand a half hours! They explained the change in treatment \nplan an agin I understood. I go in for the rest of her \ntreatment to be done, a month later. This time I get there \n30 min before my appt and again I'm left tere to wait with my daughter this time in tears and starving...we were told again she had to go on an empty stomach. I kept asking the lady in the front, Trish, and she kept blowing\nme off, saying she is next! I was the first one there and it wasn't till after over an hour they finally only call her back. As they are doing her vital signs the machine battery dies. They then leave us there to wait longer. I finally can't take it and ask for my refund.\nThank God I did, because again this time they had the wrong treatment plan. Who knows what they would have \ndone to her.\nBut most importantly, the second visit I experienced \nsomething like never before. They office is always packed \nand over booked. Aparently Doc Urbach's wife works \nthere. While I'm standing there with my daughter and other children around. Doctor Mark Urbach comes out and yells \nat his wife and pushes her with his chest asking her why a\n certain patient hadent been seen. We were so scared and the lady At the counter, Dixie I think is her name, was really embarassed and tried explaining to me that, that is \nhis wife and they go through this!!! I couldn't beieve what I \nwas seeing and hearing! I should have known from\nthen and I should have complained from then. My advice \nwould be to stay far away from this place. The service is \nhorriable and they are very unorganized. They are dealing\n with children, and instead of caring for them they are \nliterally hurting them. \n

There is a train at the top of the ceiling that travels through tunnels to connect the waiting room and other rooms. Many staff have been there for decades! I can say this b/c I was a patient there and I'm still cavity free at 32 Yrs.! Dr. Urbach had a positive influence on my dental habits. He's not big on pushing services that are cosmetic (most teeth are baby teeth anyway!) but he's honest and gives you all your options if there is an issue. \n\nYou can walk back with your child, there are lots of toys to play with and movies to watch in order for them to get comfortable with this environment. Of my 3 children, I have 1 screamer. My other 2 joyfully anticipate going here and ask me when we are going back. My son, the screamer (2 yr), has always reacted the same with doctors and dentists and even teachers. They are patient with him and me and are efficient in their evaluation as to not drag out the melt down. \n\nOn an unrelated review, my out of town friend (who's on medicaid) had to have an emergency extraction and Dr. Urbach and his staff stayed late to help them when other practices turned them away. She later found out that it was also Dr. Urbach's birthday. That's how you know that pediatric dentistry is Dr. Urbach's passion. He stayed late on his birthday to help a child all while knowing that he's probably not going to get much money for his time. \n\nI took off a star b/c the offices are dated & it is rather like an assembly line. I've been to 3 other pediadontist's offices and they were horrible, even with their nice furniture. Unless our insurance changes, we will be with him forever.

Neg 5 STAR\r\n\r\nIf you love your children and care for them DO NOT take your children to this dentist. I speak from first hand experience and as a mother. I had been taking my children their and everytime I walked out I would be mad at myself for allowing them to treat me and my kids the way they did. First visit its all rosy you are allowed to walk back with your child but expect that to be your last time. Not only is Dr. Urbach the WORST bed side and unchild friendly dentist I have ever met his wife is also allowed and unlicensed to work on children. She is the billing, cleaner and she will also perform the teeth cleaning on your child when they are backed up. Dont let his website fool you! Please note there is not a single comment left nor are you allowed to leave comments on the website. The front desk is also VERY unprofessional! I hope this makes a difference in your choice of selecting a dentist! \r\n\r\nRespectfully \r\nA caring mother

Dr. Urbach has been in practice for over 20 years, and it makes me angry every time I drive by his office and see his name still posted. My sister and I were taken there as children for approximately 5 years and were traumatized by the experience. Don't let his website fool you. Urbach used an assembly line method of seeing his patients. No specific appointments were scheduled. You showed up with a roomful of people all set to arrive at the same time, and they called the kids to the back (no parents were allowed). From there it took hours just to get teeth cleaned and see the dentist. Imagine how scary that was for kids to be taken to the back - kids crying on the floor - I remember throwing up because I was so scared, and they didn't tell me not to swollow the fluoride. \n\nAlso - just saw online that he was reprimanded by the State Board of Dental Examiners in 2003.

Dentist is great with children. Most of the staff is child friendly. Most are not when it coming to taking the x-rays. The ofc is run down. Not much to look at when you go in. Not much for the price.

Pros: Dentist is great calls phone to ck on kids

Cons: Ofc very run down, some staff is not that child-friendly. I saw a lady yell at a child who was scared of taking an x-ray. I wait a while & I saw her do that to a few children.
