Why would Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital have 4 profiles on Insiderpages, each with lower ratings than the last.

I do not write reviews, but when a five star review was posted on December 24, 2015, I couldn't help but to wonder if it was written by the staff themselves. The review has since been removed. It prompted a search of comments on multiple sites, and what was found is that all the negative reviews had something in common. I've spoken with reviewers whose comments were filtered on Yelp.
Had these reviews not been hidden, there would not be a necessity to write this one.

The staff at Barton Heights are very rude and the night dr (an older woman) has no idea what she is doing. We brought our 10 year old maltese in at around 11pm last week when she was twitching and falling over. They stood over us while we signed the consent paperwork so that they can bill us and the Dr ran an xray and blood panel. The Dr. had difficulty reading the x-ray and she said "I have no clue what is wrong with your dog". She gave me pain killers and gabapentin. I had to take my dog home when she was clearly sick. When I got home I decided to google the symptoms and came up with vestibular disease. I called the vet back to inquire about this and they said that that diagnosis was included in "other". I then asked why they gave me the wrong medication and she said nothing. I called another vet the next day and he told me it could be vestibular disease just by knowing the symptoms. I called Barton Heights back and asked to speak to someone higher up than the vet I saw. Dr. Wentz returned my call and was unknowledgeable and rude. I explained to him everything that transpired and he said that my dog did not have vestibular disease because it does not cause twitching or falling over. When you do a simple google search, this is exactly what it causes. All the stress from getting the wrong diagnosis and medication, caused my fiance to go into preterm labor at 34 weeks. The only thing I asked Dr. Wentz for was a refund of at least the exam fee and medication since they gave us no diagnosis and the wrong medication. He was rude and abrupt and said he would do nothing for me. I do not feel that paying $592 for no diagnosis and getting the wrong medication is right.

In the past month I have been to Barton Heights for the following:
*Had a beloved cat euthanized after a nearly year-long battle with cancer
*Two cats in for their yearly exam & blood work (my request).
*One of the above cats in for a dental and repeat blood glucose
*One kitten in for an ear infection
*One dog in for vomiting

Whether its been for a well or sick visit, every call for an appointment gets me in when I need to, with a specific doctor if I request. The staff is sensational with answering questions and being attentive.

I am offered a choice in diagnostics but never made to feel that I have to act further than I am comfortable (or financially able) to do. Having these options is important to me: I want answers if something is wrong. I appreciate that the doctors examine the pet before surgery while I am there to ask questions, or how the doctor comes back in after testing to explain the results. Ive never been made to feel like Im playing phone tag with a doctor who does not wish to talk with me.

Since Barton Heights is open 24/7, my pets records are available if I ever have an overnight emergency.

I am happy to have found a veterinary hospital that exceeds my expectations. Barton Heights is wonderful.

I wish I could give Barton Height negative stars! After being clients for over 5 years we brought our sick kitten in on Sunday for an emergency visit and cannot believe the horrid, uncompassionate way we were treated! Dr.Franklin was rude, inconsiderate and went even so far as to lie to my husband. My baby needed surgery to save his life. They quoted us $3900 and refused to do the surgery without payment upfront. I don't know about you, but I do not have easy access to nearly $4000 on a Sunday night and my baby ended up losing his life! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! They do not care about the animals, only extorting you for every dime you have!

Barton Heights is a wonderful and caring place, I would never trust my animals with anyone else. I have been coming here for the past 5 years. You get what you pay for in a hospital, I just had 2 of my kittens neutered there on Tuesday and they made sure they gave me collars and pain medication and instructions to go home. I have had other cats done at other places in the area and were not pleased at all by the way they treated my pets. My pets are not angels when away from home but the staff there knows how to handle them and always makes me feel at ease. My first impression of the place was it doesn't have that wet animal smell like most places do and is very clean, it feels
very cozy, and they are all very helpful in answering my questions.
My kittens are fine and playing as usual, life is back to normal again, Thank You Barton Heights for placing your heart and soul in the right place.
