What a pleasant experience dealing with Dr. Meleleo and his friendly staff. When my new pet (a rescue dog) choked on something she had picked up in my yard, Dr. Meleleo saw her right away and did the necessary tests. They couldn't have been more compassionate and thankfully everything turned out OK.

I've been taking my cat with cancer to PPAH for the last couple of months, and the staff is just wonderful. Both Dr. Longo and Dr. Meleleo treat him with care and compassion. They are making a very tough time for both me and my cat a little bit easier. Their rates are also fair for both visits and medications. Appointments are easy to get too. I highly recommend PPAH.

The staff is caring, knowledgeable and always pleasant. The office is sparkling clean. The appointments are scheduled so you don't wait long. Dr. Meleleo answers all your questions, either during your appointment or by email. There is no one else who could take such good care of our "little girl."

This outstanding veterinary practice has my highest recommendation!
Our family refers every pet owner we know or meet to Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital, and our referrals are always so happy after their visit.
Through the years, we've had various vets for our pets. However, none can compare to the expertise, service and sincere compassion of Dr. Meleleo and his professional staff. He has been caring for our current 4 pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) since 2009, and we were thrilled when he opened his own practice in July 2011. They sincerely care about your pet and treat every pet as if it was their own! They are attentive to an owner's concerns, patient and spend the time and effort required to analyze the care of each pet member of your family.
Although it is extremely impressive that Dr. Meleleo is one of the only local vets to earn an Ivy League veterinary degree, perhaps more important than a premier education to pet owners is that he is truly a wonderful, kind, generous and gifted professional who will make you and your pet feel very comfortable. I would trust him caring for the HUMAN members of our household--that is how special a person he is!
Even if you think you are satisfied with the veterinary care your pets are already receiving, I suggest you visit Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital with your pet...just to say "Hi!" You'll be glad you did!
The office is beautiful, new, state-of-the-art, FUN and FRIENDLY. The parking lot is large and convenient...mere steps from your car to their front door! The practice is accommodating to your schedule, on-call for emergencies and will offer payment plans upon request. Their focus on what is most important to you--your pet--is absolutely impeccable.

Dr. Meleleo & his staff are kind and helpful. Every time I called his staff answered every question I had. Dr. Meleleo answered all our questions regarding our cat's surgery and when I called after hours - I was connected directly to him. He is very honest and tried to keep our costs down. Dr. Meleleo & his staff really care about the pets they see. I'm recommending everyone I know!!! Thanks again!

My dog was recently very sick and I never thought she would survive. I took her to the Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital and she was actually admitted for a week. In that weeks time I did not know what the outcome would really be, but each day she actually got better and better thanks to the great care she received from Dr. Meleleo and Staff. I am very grateful to everyone there.
Dr. Meleleo and Staff are very compassionate and friendly. The office is immaculate and has such state of the art equipment. It is wonderful to be able to know results within minutes instead of waiting sometimes a day or even an entire weekend.
I am so grateful to have found a very knowledgeable and caring doctor for my pets because they are very special to me and their health is my main priority. I am very impressed with the doctor, staff and facility and I highly recommend them.

Our dog Peanut became a patient at Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital in September 2011, she came in for her annual check-up and I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the office and the state of the art equipment. Dr. Meleleo and the vet tech staff are equally amazing, they are gentle, and patient with nervous owners and most importantly Peanut is always happy to see them.
In late February peanut started acting funny and ended up being diagnosed with diabetes. We could not be happier with the care and attention Dr. Meleleo and his team provide. From one on one education about delivering insulin shots and obtaining blood glucose readings to simple diet advice Dr. Meleleo makes every effort to be available to us, by phone or email. Additionally the online pet portal is great for tracking vaccinations, etc. If you are looking for a fantastic and caring Vet for your pet, you have come to the right place, you will not be disappointed.

My two year old rescued Yorkie/Bichon was back and forth to various Veterinarians for lethargy, lack of appetite and vomiting. My husband and I remembered Dr. Maleleo who worked at Bay Street Animal Hospital. We called there, and it was no surprise to us that they had no idea where he was. We found out that he opened the Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital, and although it is quite a distance from our house, we brought our dog there. Through a simple blood test we found out that Baci's liver was not functioning properly. Dr. Meleleo put him on supplements and vitamin enriched food. Baci was back to his old self almost immediately. I am so thankful that we tracked Dr. Meleleo down because a few years ago, my sisters's rescued Yorkie had to be put down at three years old due to liver failure. Dr. Meleleo explained in detail the illness and the treatment. He even draws diagrams, if need be. In the past, at other Veterinarian offices I felt that I was being charged unnecessarily for tests that were not needed. Do not hesitate to use Dr. Meleleo. He is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and he has an immaculate, state of the art facility, with a friendly caring staff.

I recently changed vet's after using the same office for 25 years. Dr Meleleleo has been very kind and caring. He explains all that is being doen and lays out all options. He also lets you know what something will cost and an alternative. His office is immaculate. He seems to really enjoy being with the animals. Also he seems very knowledgeable and professional. I am very happy with the care we have received thus far.

I recently adopted a 12 week old puppy named Jake from a shelter. A couple of days later, he becam sick. Knowing that I would be adopting, I began interviewing veteranarians to find the right one for our newest family member. I wanted somewhere that had state-of-the-art technology, highly trained doctor and staff, extensive office hours and most improtantly, I needed to feel comfortable with the doctor who would be treating Jake. Well, I found that in Dr. Meleleo and Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital in Tottenville.
Dr. Meleleo, immediately knew what was wrong with Jake and pescribed the necessary medicine. Less than a week later he was his old self, jumping and playing and HEALTHY. We are very grateful to Dr. Meleleo and the staff at PPAH.
Based on our experience, we would happily recommend PPAH to all of our friends who need timely and professional care for that special pet in your life.

Dr. Meleleo and his staff are wonderful. When we first got our little guy at 3 months old, he was loaded with parasites which suppressed his immune system and resulted in him contracting corona virus. With Dr. Meleleo's care and attention for 6 very long months he made a full recovery and has been happy and healthy for almost a year and a half. Dr. Meleleo is not only kind, caring and gentle with my baby, but very personable with us. He takes time to explain treatment options and health issues and welcomes questions you might have. His new facility is up to date with the newest technologies and is spotless! We would recommend his hospital to anyone!
