Been Emerald Club or higher for many years. Rented a van in Detroit that was not cleaned due to cold weather so inside and out were dirty. When returned, they did not show it as rented so agent had to hand write a form to document the rental. He was very nice but it was ridiculous that the paperwork was messed up.

Ridiculously terrible customer service. National used to be my preferred rental company, but the last couple visits to this location have caused me to switch companies. I am executive emerald club which allows one to choose any vehicle in the designated parking area, which I love. However, upon exiting, the "service" rep was aggressively argumentative with every response to his questions. I have never experienced such terrible service. The gentlemen just kept arguing with me up until I asked if I was free to leave now because never closed the transaction. No clue what his deal was, but he was seeking to fight someone that night.

I've been an Emerald Club member for roughly 5 years, and enjoy the service. My last two visits to this location have been problematic, and very unprofessional. During my last (and likely final) visit, I had to tell the customer service rep repeatedly not to become confrontational, these things aren't personal. She was very argumentative and aggressive. Totally unprofessional. As was the shift manager. Very disappointed in the service, may switch accounts to another provider.

I am a longtime Emerald Club member and normally love the National experience. My trip here was a disaster. I was rushing for a flight and accidently left my notebook computer on the front seat of the rental. I did not notice until I got to hotel that night in different city. The office was closed. I called the next day and they did not have it. I submitted a lost and found report and 3 weeks later still no computer. The only explanation is the cleaner stole it, or did not clean it at all and left it in for the next rental and that customer did not turn it in. Either way, that is terrible service and cost me a great deal of time, money and heartache.

This is a painless rental experience. The shuttle bus drivers are great, the facility is super easy to find with gas stations feet away and clear signage and the choice of cars is HUGE. All the employees in Detroit are wonderful and they'll always be helpful.

Rented a car from DTW to ORD. Nice car. Pick up and drop off were quick and easy.

The only thing not so perfect was some sticky residue left by the previous renter, probably from spilled soft drink.

Was surprised by the slim selection on Emerald Aisle. There were no GM cars on the Aisle. As a GM employee I can only drive GM vehicles. I finally did find an Impala tucked away to the side. I took it even though it was dirty and not cleaned on the outside. When I drove the vehicle I was reminded every time I got into the vehicle that the car was in demonstration mode because someone forgot to activate the Onstar on the vehicle. It became annoying after the first day. The drivers to and from the airport were very friendly and helpful with my bags. Just wish the car was clean and they fixed the Onstar issue. Where are the cars with XM activated????

Because this site does a high level of volume, you need to make sure to prepare before leaving.
Doesn't matter what rental company.
1. After selecting your car and placing your bags in the trunk, walk around the entire car to complete a visual inspection.
2. Make sure the gas tank is full and you have a scraper during the winter.
3. Find the rental agreement papers and your ready to go.

Car windows were very streaked on inside. Made it difficult to see in sun. They realy needed take more time in cleaning the windows due to safety.

I love the Emerald Aisle and the ability to choose my car. My last rental here the license plate was not secured with the proper screws so it rattled the whole week. Other than being anoying the rental was fine. I chose the Jeep Patriot since I was going to Chrysler - don't think I'll choose that vehicle again - seemed very cheap.
