I had a yummy salad for dinner and really enjoyed it, and we shared some cheese (which was amusing because the guy complained about all of them and how small it was I on the other hand loved them). The server was really sweet and gave us

Ayza is a great cozy place to enjoy a glass of wine or two. I enjoyed a wine flight set of three and liked that they had a great selection of wines. You can order by the glass,\r
by three flights of wines, or by the bottle.\r

Went here on a Wednesday night and it was off and on crowded. To be quick and simple, good wine, good cheese, possibly the best flatbread pizzetta type thing I've ever\r
had. The chocolates are also great\r

This is a great spot for a casual date or evening out with the girls. The food is amazing, simple, and delicious... and they have just about anything you would want to drink, so it's pretty great.\r

The service was friendly, but at times unattentive. Other tables were receiving quicker service than we were for no apparent reason.Anyway, with drinks our dinner bill was $85. I'd go again, but I am not eager to do so.\r

My good friend brought me to this location and I now plan to be a\r
regular. Amazing concept for wine tasting (try their flights) and the\r
best small plates ever. No question, service was stellar. Met the\r
owner and chatted a bit

The food was a good (I had goat cheese and beet salad and asparagus soup) - even though the menu could use some refining. I especially enjoyed the presentation of the food.\r

Ayza is great because it's a wine bar without having the stuck up feeling that wine bars sometimes have. It's definitely somewhat upscale, but it's still comfortable, and ladies love the whole wine and chocolate thing.

I took my girlfriend here on a date. The hostess was kind of rude to her as she took her coat to be checked, almost like she was judging my girl??s outfit. Then we sat at a table near the back, in a secluded area, which seems like it would be romantic, but it also made it easy for the server to forget about our existence, which she did. We didn??t get served for about a half hour, and then when we asked for bread, they charged us for it.

Nice venue, good for lounging. Impressive wine presentation but I wouldn't come back, the place is too dead and the menu offers minimal variety.

I appreciated the complimentary wine shot that was given to us at the top of the meal, but everything else after was anticlimactic. I enjoyed the white truffle pizza, but my friend ordered the same thing without meat, and both pizzas had meat. The server also gave us crap for it, as if we didn??t clarify that one needed to be meatless.

Great selection of wine tasting, delicious food especially the braised beef and the scallops. Excellent service and very friendly staff, overall a fun place to have a nice glass of wine with friends and family. Definitely going back!

Yuck. Something fell off the ceiling and into my glass, and the servers didn??t do anything about it. She just looked at me and apologized for that, and just walked away. WTF?

This place has a great ambiance, laid back and approachable staff, and a really cool, eclectic choice of wines by the glass or bottle. There are some obscure varietals, but the owner was really helpful in educating us and offering tastes until our table agreed on a delicious
Nebbiolo. The cheese plate was incredible.

I love wine, and my girlfriend loves chocolate. This place seemed like it would be a slam dunk for us, but was more like we were rebounding off the free throw line. Their wine selection only takes up one column of the menu, and other than about 5 or 6 wines, it was mostly stuff that you??ll end up seeing at any average restaurant. If I??m going to go to a wine bar, I want to be wowed by a wine selection that only a Tier 3 sommelier has ever heard of. I wound up getting a Negroamaro,

As for chocolates, we were both more than a little disappointed to find that they don??t make their own chocolates, and that the chocolates they did came from down the street at Jacques Torres. They were very good, but that is to be expected--Jacques Torres is a master chocolatier!

The overall experience was great. We had a really nice, attentive server, and the cheese platter she picked for us was great. However, this place failed to live up to our expectations of a wine and chocolate bar. 3 out of 5 stars.

I have to give this place a 10 out of 10. We started out the night with a complimentary shot of their spiced wine, which was delicious. The appetizer platter was almost too good to be true! Everything from hummus to pizza to duck confit! The braised beef was made with a dark chocolate sauce, which was pretty unreal. And the belgian chocolate fondue was so heavenly. The service was great and everyone who worked here seemed to be really happy to be working here. I??m looking forward to coming back.

I grew up in NYC, so its hard for a restaurant to impress me. Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar doesn??t quite hit the mark, but it??s getting there. A lot of the dishes seem to incorporate chocolate as an ingredient, even if its something that you wouldn??t necessarily associate with chocolate. They have an appetizer that is a white chocolate celery mouse...I don??t think I??ve ever seen those two things on the same page of the menu, let alone on the same plate. Same goes for the white chocolate foie gras.

There??s a lot of room for improvement at Ayza, but this place is very new. Given some time, I think this concept could really take off.

I??ve previously visited Ayza??s 31st Street location, and my biggest complaint with them was their small, cramped space and lack of hot chocolate, which is weird for a chocolate bar. I called to make a reservation for the Midtown location, and the hostess suggested that I try out their new location in the West Village. I was pleasantly surprised to find that both of my complaints were addressed at the new bar. This place is about five times the size of the original. They??ve now got a few large tables explicitly set up for groups, though you could also use the big tables as a communal table when there are no large groups in the restaurant. They also make hot chocolate, and they do it straight from the chocolate fountain! Yes folks, they have a chocolate fountain! The West Village location also has a lot more menu options than the Midtown location. If you liked the 31st St. restaurant, you will love the one in the West Village!

I have been to both locations and I absolutely love coming to Ayza's wine bar in the west village because their menu is fantastic, the service is always solid and their chocolate is unbelievable. Whether you come here for a romantic time or to hang out with your girlfriends, I wholeheartedly recommend AYZA!!!

I??d definitely recommend doing all their sampler platters. There is an appetizer platter, a cheese platter, a chocolate platter, and a wine flight. It??s the best way to take advantage of all Ayza??s delicious options.
