Impressive doesn't cut it! We grabbed a dozen fresh out of the oven meat lamajuns, labne and tabbouleh. While waiting for the lahmajuns to bake, we grabbed a couple of spinach & feta boregs accompanied by fresh brewed coffee and sat in the cafe. The place is brand spanking new and if they keep up this pace, this will be THE place to stop in summer time when they open the front of the store with outdoor tables & music.

There's a new International Foods market in Watertown which just made finding the best in Middle Eastern cuisine and grocery items even more convenient because of its location!Armenian Market & Bakery opened this week on the corner of Elm and Arsenal Streets directly next door to Watertown Mall and across the street from Arsenal Mall. But there's something different about Armenian Market & Bakery which make sit a cut above the more traditional International food markets ?? the atmosphere and the commitment of the team to make a customer's experience most satisfying!

Upon walking in the door, the first thing which strikes you is the cornucopia of aromas in the air. Armenian Market is committed to fresh cooked traditional foods made the way you would find them in ??Mama's kitchen? from their home countries. While it's just opening, it is apparent to this user that Armenian Market has it right and has no where to go but up as the owners add to their repertoire of selections. The signature fare from their kitchen has to be their fresh baked to order Lahmajun ?? the famous Armenian pizza. Few bakeries in this area offer Lahmajun fresh out of the oven and as a connoisseur of this delight let me say these are among the best ever tasted! If you love Shawarma, look no further - fresh, traditional, layered (not pressed) meats and guaranteed to satisfy the most selective palate. The market also features an Olive Bar with a variety of olives from Alfonsos to Kalamatas to the traditional Moroccan cured black olives.

Among their growing grocery selections, shoppers will find those hard to find items in American supermarkets such as Greek pastas, Piyale products (popular in Turkey) and for the traditional baker there's nothing better than baking ammonia and the prepackaged envelopes of baking powders key in creating the most splendid Middle Eastern dessert recipes. Armenian Market also carries a variety of the best olive oils; jams and preserves; grains including bulghur, semolina and wheat. There is something for everyone at Armenian Market.

Making the shopping experience even better is the small cafe included in the shop itself. You can order your favorite Shawarma or Lahmajun, have a piece of fresh baklava or any other items offered from the kitchen including sandwiches, dinners, fresh baked pastries, Boregs and plenty more. So pop in, order a Lahmajun or a spinach & feta choreag, have a cup of fresh brewed coffee and sit at a table to experience what Armenian Market & Bakery has to offer! The experience is the closest thing you'll find to sitting in a cafe in Yerevan or Marrakesh! We're excited to see what these folks add to their fare over the next few weeks as customers come to know the friendly folks at Armenian Market & Bakery. The location is convenient to the malls, Brighton and Cambridge. If you're new to Middle Eastern cuisine and Armenian foods ?? this is a great place to start!
