I couldn't find ANY plumbing license for this so called "plumbing contractor" anywhere. I looked online at www.myfloridalicense.com where all contractor's & contractor owned companies in Florida are licensed & regulated by the State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. "True Plumbers" is NOT listed there anywhere, meaning they truly do NOT have a plumbing license at all & they probably have no business performing any kind of plumbing work.

No license usually = sub standard work.

I also looked on www.sunbiz.org to see if "True Plumbers" was even a real company. It does appear to be a real company as of about 3 months ago (late October 2011). One that just doesn't have any kind of license to do plumbing work of any kind whatsoever.

Neither of the two owner's names listed for this company on www.sunbiz.org "Robin Mark Lever II" & "Issac J. Turpin" are licensed as "plumbing contractor's" with the DBPR (Department of Business & Professional Regulation). The DBPR REQUIRES the licensee to be an owner.

It's a good thing that I didn't hire "True Plumbers". If I had hired "True Plumbers", I would be doing something quite illegal, I could be facing harsh Civil penalties of $5,000+ by the circuit courts, pay more than double for any work they performed, to have a real licensed plumbing contractor to fix the work they probably don't know how to do, plus the possibility of having my property foreclosed on by material suppliers &/or sub contractors, and the possibility of being liable for countless more tens of thousands of dollars, and possibly serving jail time for hiring them.

LESSON HERE: Check the license with the licensing governing body to verify that they are licensed at all, in this case the DBPR @ www.myfloridalicence.com. Check if the if the company itself is even legit @ www.sunbiz.org. It appears that "True Plumbers" will & intends to put their consumers in "True Harms Way" by their deceptive business practices. In my opinion True Plumbers = True Scam.

BUYER BEWARE !!! Ask for their license number CFC (followed by numeric digits indicates a Certified Plumbing Contractor), General Liability insurance documents with "True Plumbers" as the insured, worker's compensation insurance, a county tax reciept that says "True Plumbers" on it & check it with the state & county. Almost all plumbing alterations or replacement of fixtures, requires a permit at the county level. MAKE SURE THEY OBTAIN A PLUMBING PERMIT. It is there to protect you, the owner from these unlicensed plumbing contractors. If they ask you to get the plumbing permit or tell you "you don't need one", it is because they have NO PLUMBING LICENSE & are FORBIDDEN to get any plumbing permit.
