Can't believe I passed place for months
Orderd mexican pizza . Yum
And table also got BLT
In a strip mall on the corner, how fitting, you will find CravePizza. Don't expect much when you walk in. If I didn't know you could dine there I would have thought it was takeout only.

The food wasn't spectacular but it was tasty authentic Italian, made fresh, hit the spot and was CHEAP! Like "oh my god it's under $20 bucks don't worry I got this (as in my pal picked up the tab) cheap". Weekday after work date night spot all the way.

Splitting a pizza and appetizer dish is the way to go. Best of both worlds and you will have leftovers for sure with the pizza. Totally the perfect spot to curb your Italian food hanger especially when wanting to do it on a dime.
Salut

This place was recommended to me and I also was intrigued by the great reviews on ip. We ordered our usual -- the large sausage and pepperoni thin crust, well done.

Crust: Had it been a little more crispy, it would have been the best crust I'd ever had. It has potential/

Toppings: Wow, this sounds crazy but there were way too many for my liking. So much so that it was not possible to eat a slice without your hand becoming full of grease. However, that said -- the sausage had a great, fresh flavor. The cheese was really good. But I felt like the pizza sauce was missing some spice.

Atmosphere: It really is a carry out/delivery place so it's not great.

Price: A baby cheese pizza, large sausage and pepperoni pizza, two cans of pop = $26.04. very good!

So yeah, it was "ok". Nothing I'd rave over. but I will probably be back . Maybe the Pan or Deep Dish is better...at least the reviews make it seem that way.

How much better can it get? Lovely pizza cooked in a earthen oven. We had the manaeesh with specialty hawaiian pizza (about as hawaiian as pizza gets) and it was excellent. The made to order cheeseballs was also excellent.

There's just something right about The crust. It just makes these things better.

We watched our pizza and our cheeseballs cook in the oven, and had one of the best modestly priced dinner dates we've had in years.

Peep it yall! This is by far one of the best joints to grab a bite or a drink or hey.....maybe both. (Just a preface to my review ya).

Once you enter this place you auto-magically just know what type of atmosphere your in. Allow Crave to paint the picture. Chill, hard rockin, easy breezin, blast!!! Dont be intimidated by all the awesome business inside and outside this place! This is a place you can take your friends and have a loud drunken stuper on one end, and bring the fam and enjoy a large pie on the other end. So, the versatility of this place is unparalleled.

The service: out-freakin-standing. Hands down some of the most friendliest people! They are all quick, knowledgeable, friendly, and love to exchange some chit chat as they are working. Thats awesome! I love goin here.

The food: ummmmm ya some of the best...no, its definitely the best pizza i have ever had. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. The dough.....ok, dough is the most important part of a pizza...obviously. they NAIL IT. Not sure if they refrigerate the dough, make it same day, use cold water, warm water, take the purist approach not using olive oil, use honey....list goes on! 2 words...crazy train. Best pizza!

These are just a few of the many over there. I STRONGLY recommend this place. Outstanding noms, people, and environment. Giving this place 5 stars is a no brainer. Good prices too.

Crave pizza is by far my favorite Italian restaurant. Their pizza and pasta have a unique taste that I have yet to find anywhere. It has become a tradition in my family to eat here whenever we gather together. I now live outside of des planes, and I love Crave so much that I make sure to go whenever I am in town.

The service is exceptional and the food to die for. The pizza melts in your mouth but has a crispy crust at the same time. The pasta with out pasta sauce (my favorite) has a unique buttery taste. The antipasta and roles are heavenly.

Crave is a must have if you are in the area

dare i say it??? my favorite pizza in nyc... hands down

close to the end of the metra station 2 blocks away, and tucked away in the middle of mt prospect, you're always going to walk outta there satisfied... i don't know what it is about the pizza in there, but it's like no other.... this was the first taste of thin crust pizza i had, and remains the best!

it's a snazzy and squeaky clean place a little bit hot but who cares when there's a party of deliciousness in your mouth!!!

Highly recommend!!

This place is on the same block as my work place. I can't believe it took me so long to go here! I was really skeptical, but after hearing rave reviews decided to try it. I got the Crave burger, which comes with fries (lots of tomatoes and cucumbers!), the meat on that really is 1/2 a lb of meat and u can tell it's been cooked to perfection.. It really is a lot of food for the price. Not only is the food really good and inexpensive, but the owner himself is so kind and welcoming! I will definitely be coming back!

For all those folks who want to whine about the "soot" or "char" on their pizza crusts, go to Italy. Just go. And then come back and eat this pizza again. Italians wouldn't think twice about the soot, because that's how they make pizza.

I have been to Italy, where the pies aren't cut into handheld slices for you, because Italians wouldn't dare eat their pizzas by hand (well, most of them, anyway). They eat them with a knife and fork.

And the Italians make 'em EXACTLY like CravePizza does. Not too much cheese, fresh organic ingredients, baked in an oven until it comes out smoking with beautiful black bubbles on the crust. What you get, then, is a delicate crunchiness, and the sooty black parts melt in your mouth.

It's not supposed to be slathered with cheese and barely baked so that the dough still tastes like dough. That's American "pizza". Whole different animal. REAL AUTHENTIC ITALIAN pizza is rare to find in the United States of Fake Food, which is what makes Craves work so wondrous.

AND. I feel great knowing that every time I step onto the clock tower patio, I will be eating food that was most likely grown here in The region, or at the very least, grown and raised organically and responsibly.

AND they sell ellis products. AND they're friendly and awesome. AND if you didn't feel like you were in Europe yet, you might catch a glimpse of a cabaret performer on his or her way down to Lannie's. AND! It's affordable food, for us poor retail workers. What more could you want?

Eat your blackened pizzas, America, eat them and like them. Provides your bod with extra carbon, it's good for you. And what's good enough for Italy, the cradle of democracy, is surely good enough for us.

I gotta take one star off for the music that they play on the patio. Personally, I'd rather not listen to music while I eat, and I avoid loud restaurants because I can barely concentrate on digesting with all that racket. If there MUST be music, let it be the slight HINT of music, not an overwhelming surround sound for the unlucky soul who decided to sit next to the speakers. please. :)

When you goto a place called "CravePizza" you are going for the pizza. There is not a better place for gourmet pizza than this place. Period. There are plenty of options to personalize your pizza, plus a few chef creations already available. If you are a traditional American pizza lover like me (good 'ol pepperoni and cheese), I suggest swapping out the mozz for pepper. Adds a great new flavor.

For apps, skip them all but the wedge flatbread with balsamic and oil. It's super cheap, $3.95, and showcases how good the pizza dough flavor is. We have tried the other apps and they are not at the same level

Be sure to leave room for the Eli's Cheesecake, it is fantastic. Doubt it is made there, but Eli's is a rare item in Mt prospect it seems, and Crave buys some good stuff.

The location is small, about 10-15 tables and really no comfortable waiting area. When the weather is good, the outside patio and "backyard" area are really cozy and inviting. Outside is a great place for a large get together.

The waiters/waitresses and crowd are mainly the artsy Western Ave. types, but friendly and helpful.

The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the apps that seem to miss the mark. Also, if you go during a busy time, you have to wait awkwardly inches away from someone at the door. One time we were seated in the "waiting area" when it was busy, very weird and uncomfortable.

I've only had pizza delivery and haven't actually been inside this place, so I can't attest to its overall atmosphere though by the sound of the rest of the reviews it sounds like it has a good family-friendly environment.

Because I've been a total hermit lately and not getting out much, I've been eating a lot of pizza. (Not sure how much I want to admit that) I've also just moved into mt prospect to be closer to my job and out of traffic at the worst times possible, so it's been fun seeing what's around town, especially in terms of local business.

One thing I like about this pizza place is their overall friendliness. Every time I call an order (twice now) the voice on the other end of the phone has been positive, friendly, and helpful. The delivery people have been pleasant as well. The pizza however is something to tell your friends about..It reminds me of a certain famous pizzeria in downtown chicago.

(I like to just order cheese with an occasional vegetable). Most people load their pizza up, but my favorite thing about it is the texture between the sauce, cheese, and crust.

Next time, I'll probably go with more toppings if I choose this place again. I think that will make the flavor even better.

crave is a small restaurant with an open kitchen where you can easily see how the pizza is made. I was lucky to sit at the biggest table which was close to said kitchen. Although I was there my entire stay I still cannot tell you what they put in the pizza or how they make it to taste so frikken good. It just... is.

I came on a weeknight when it was freezing out so luckily my friends and I didn't have to wait for a table. enjoyed the warmth of the heater, wine and big huge pizza pies in front of our faces.

I love how people say that this place is "out of the way". Maybe for the true downtonites, it is, but for us of the beaten path whatever it's luckily just around the corner for us. .

Bottom line, this place is awesome. I hope you think it's "too out of the way" for you so I can just sashay in here whenever I please and not wait in line, ever. ;)

Loved it.

I had the 12 Inch Pan Pizza - Whole milk mozzarella, house-made meatballs, margherita pepperoni and mild Italian sausage (large size).

I drove over to pick it up in Mt Prospect and when I saw the box, I was going to say "I ordered the large." Luckily I remembered that I haven't had Chicago style pizza in a while and just took the box... as I hoped... it was HEAVY. Lots of pizza in that box.

It's a beautiful pizza. I love pizza and I can tell this pizza was made with care in this restaurant by someone with a passion for pizza. The crust is amazing - wow. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the meatballs.

I ate the whole thing by myself and it took me three days. It's best fresh but I really enjoyed it cold the second day. The third day, I heated it up and enjoyed it then too.

I ordered a pan pizza delivery from this place..I was surpriced to hear the owner answer the phone..he was friendly and suggested I go online to use one of their coupons to save some $$.

The order arrived on time..and the delivery man was nice enough to not step on my grass (at last one that doesn't kill the garden!)

The pizza was nice and piping hot..everyone in my family enjoyed it..since then we have ordered 2 more times and the quality has been consistent the entire time.

I will say that I wish the cheesecakes where bigger in portion. And that they had online ordering as I like the quickness of it all.

In the future I do not mind ordering from crave instead of dominks or jakes or even tartareces

Came by on a Saturday Night, and they where very very busy. Had longer than expected wait time. But I guess on a saturday night It's bound to happen. The owner greeted me and my family at the door and seemed very pleased to have us. Waitresses were freindly. The thin crust pizza was to die for.

I felt there was not enough ice on the refreshments but overall it was a great experience and will come back again. Not bad for this new Pizza restaurant in mt prospect

Message from CravePizza

Dissatisfied with the slices of pie at fast-food joints, CravePizza owner Rafael tinkered with recipes for savory dough and hearty tomato sauce until he was satisfied. He opened CravePizza to craft pies from the basic foundation of buttery-crust dough, custom-spiced sauce, and a house blend of cheese. Three chefs with 40 years of collective experience toss thin, pan, or stuffed pies and top them with traditional meats and vegetables, as well as unexpected options such as roast beef, shrimp, and cilantro. The family-friendly restaurant welcomes customers dining in to enjoy a drink from the full bar, and delivery and pickup orders receive the same piping-hot fare with a free box.

Hand-tossed thin-, pan-, or stuffed-crust pizzas are smothered in crushed tomatoes, house-blended cheese, and toppings such as sausage, bacon, mushrooms, and artichokes ($8.25+). The remainder of the menu boasts succulent Angus beef burgers ($7.95), a veggie sandwich piled with sautéed peppers and mushrooms beneath melted mozzarella cheese ($7.95), and a pulled pork sandwich crowned with apples, sage, and fennel ($7.95).
