Contacting Your Doctor
Medical care is a complex process and is safest when done in a face-to-face visit with your doctor. If you have a question for your doctor, the receptionist or nurse will take the message and relay it to him or her. Your doctor or a nurse will call you back with the answer or advice you need, or recommend scheduling an appointment to address the issue.
If you are taking a prescription medication, you likely have a condition that needs to be monitored periodically. We will make every effort prescribe enough refills to last until your next required visit. So that you do not run out of medication, please be sure to schedule a follow-up appointment for prescription refills and to review your medical condition and treatment plan.
Paying for Your Visit
We participate with most insurance companies, and bill them for you. We will be happy to discuss our billing procedures with you. Co-pays and your share of deductible amounts are due at time of service, even if you have an HSA. There is a $10 charge for late payment of co-pays.
Common insurances accepted are: Cigna, Blue Cross, MVP, VMC, Medicaire and Medicaid.
If you have health insurance we dont accept, or you have no insurance, we welcome you to use our services and ask that you pay at the time of your visit. We offer a 20% discount if you are self pay and pay in full at the time of services. Accepted payment forms include: Debit cards, HSA cards, Mastercard, Visa, personal checks and cash. Please ask if you have special circumstances that could qualify you for a payment plan arrangement.

Care of Chronic Medical Conditions
As Family Physicians, we are trained to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of chronic conditions, including, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart disease, asthma, and emphysema. We work with patients to optimize their health through appropriate testing, treatment and referral. We help to coordinate care for patients with complicated illnesses, and provide continuity and support for them and their families. Routine chronic care visits with the primary physician are scheduled at intervals that are determined by individual patient need and disease guidelines.
Health Maintenance Exams
A Health Maintenance Exam, (also called a physical or annual exam) is an important opportunity to screen for and prevent illness. It is an extended visit with your primary doctor that includes an interview, a full physical examination, and counseling regarding diet and exercise, and other lifestyle choices that affect your health. It may include laboratory testing, administration of appropriate immunizations, and referrals for recommended tests. If the health maintenance exam reveals other medical conditions, a follow up visit may be required to more thoroughly evaluate and plan treatment for those conditions.
Well Woman and Maternity Care
We offer routine gynecological examination in the context of a health maintenance visit. We provide family planning and contraceptive counseling, as well as education on sexual health and testing for sexually transmitted infections. Dr. Christine Mahoney offers prenatal care and performs low risk obstetrical deliveries.
Your childs health is best maintained through regular check-ups. During a Well-Child visit, we evaluate growth and development and screen for illness. We also discuss nutrition, healthy habits and accident prevention. We may discuss the childs social setting and behavior. We make recommendations for appropriate immunizations and screening tests. Well-child visits are usually scheduled at the age of three days, two weeks and at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months. Beyond the age of two, we schedule yearly physicals. School, Sports and Camp Physicals can be part of a Well Child Visit.

We screen for and treat common conditions, such as depression and anxiety, as well as substance abuse.
