First of all, I want to say, I think that everyone should try yoga, not just once, but for like 6-7 classes. If you aren't hooked by that point, fine, maybe it isn't for you...but I am willing to bet that most of you will be so happy that you discovered something that is so wonderful for mind, body, and soul!

Now, on to my review! I have been doing yoga for about 3-years now, first at a local gym, but then I quickly graduated to some local yoga studios. I rotate through classes at a few different studios (West Hartford Yoga, Samadhi in Manchester, and a few others) in the area on a regular basis, depending on who is teaching and how my schedule allows.

Then, I discovered Tiffany at True Wellness, and I have to say, she has really helped me take my yoga to a whole new level! I take a weekly private class (sometimes I will bring a friend along too) with her at her appointment only studio, and let me tell you, there is no substitute for the personal attention that you get in a private lesson setting. I feel way more comfortable trying new more challenging moves than in a group class at a studio, and having Tiffany there to guide my movements in a hands-on manner makes all the difference in the world when it comes to being able to challenge yourself safely. I feel that I have progressed more in the past 2-months of private lessons with Tiffany than in the previous 2-years of studio classes!

I take a weekly private lesson/class with Tiffany, and I feel that she has also helped me get more out of the classes that I take at studios, as she has given me little tips and cues to improve my alignment and form which is something that I can take with me to every class I attend.

Her approach is serious and respectful of the practice of yoga, unlike many of the yoga classes taught in gyms, but at the same time, she injects a lot of fun and lightheartedness into every class, and is always ready to modify things to accommodate my ability level.

In short, I highly recommend you give private yoga lessons a try, and I can think of no better gift that you could give to yourself, or to your yoga practice!

I credit Tiffany at True Wellness Coaching with getting me started down my yoga path, and now, years later, helping me to take it to the next level.

I took my first class with her years ago at the studio she founded in Storrs CT. Her mix of nurturing but challenging instruction helped me fall in love with yoga, however she and I lost touch after she sold her studio to a regional chain, in order to focus on her yoga videos.

Needless to say, I was thrilled when a friend recently told me that she was again offering a limited number of one-on-one private yoga classes! Her instruction is everything I remember and more. In addition, the private setting and personalized instruction have allowed me to progress in my yoga practice more in the last 6-months, than I had in the past several years of group classes at the local studios.

There is nothing like private yoga instruction to help you break through barriers in your practice, because you lose the self consciousness that comes with a group setting, and you gain personalized and constant individual attention. I am now doing inversions that I was afraid to even try before, and feel rock solid in poses where I was a little wobbly previously.

I have also been doing to meditation/breathwork/positive visualization classes with Tiffany that have helped me tremendously, not just in regard to yoga, but also in the rest of my life. I am now able to take that calm centered, focus, and groundedness that I get in yoga out into my career, my relationships, and my emotional relationship with myself. I can't even begin to explain how taking yoga "off of the mat" can change your life!

I purchase weekly sessions with Tiffany as a 5-class package, which makes them very affordable. Any sort of private instruction is going to be a bit more expensive than a group class, but it can also be infinitely more valuable. In a group class you might get literally a minute or two of hands on instruction/assists from the teacher, whereas in a private class, you get a full hour of that sort of helpful guidance!
