My name is Craig Jackson and I am the owner of the Personal Training Institute of Tucson.
I am a former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division that lost his way and in 2008 I reached 320 pound which my 6′ frame did not carry well. I put myself into Type 2 diabetes and was physically pfft. I could not go longer than 12 minutes on an elliptical. That is mind blowing for a former fit paratrooper. I made a decision to change my life. I started eating better (no specific diet), I hired a trainer to help me with my strength training and I kept at my cardio. I dropped over 100 pounds in a year. I have since completed 9 half marathons, 1 full marathon and numerous other races. I am no longer taking any medicine for diabetes. I am an active hiker and play racquetball. I am back to living life again. I became a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.
Throughout this transformation people asked me what I was taking. I told them it was diet and exercise. (I wished I had a sexier answer!) That made me think…although there are nutrition centers and gyms here in Tucson; I was unaware of any place that combined one-on-one personal training with having a personal nutritionist under one roof. That is when I discovered PTI and brought it to the Tucson market.
All of our programs are customized for you. Our training is all developed by an exercise physiologist and our nutrition is developed by a Registered Dietitian. All of our trainers are internally certified and most hold one or more national certifications.
We are very experienced with working with a wide variety of clients including: seniors, weight management, youth, post physical therapy, sport specific, corrective exercise and performance.

It all starts with a personal consultation where we get to know you — your lifestyle and your fitness goals. With your Nutritionist you’ll review your diet and weight loss/gain history. What diets have you tried? What are your personal obstacles? With your Fitness Trainer, you’ll review strength, cardio and lean muscle goals, learn about your metabolic rate and muscle-to-fat ratios. Working together, your nutritionist and fitness trainer will design a fitness and weight management program that’s individualized for your age, body, life style and goals.
And then, THEY WILL CONTINUE to work with you, every step of the way, ON EVERY VISIT, to monitor your progress and make adjustments, to help you reach your goals.
PTI Fitness and Nutrition Programs are designed by Exercise Physiologists and Registered Dietitians. And, every PTI Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist that works with our clients is certified through our unique PTI protocol.
