If you want brand new quality clothing that is truly unique (classic with a modern twist) and quite affordable, you have to check out Linda's Apparel in Kent! (This is not a consignment store, nor in any way affiliated with a Federal Way store of the same name.)
Linda's Apparel in Kent is truly Kent's Best Kept Secret and was actually voted 2012's Best Clothing Store In Kent (she was the only privately owned small business among them, I might add).
I would descirbe her new store (nestled quietly between Joann Fabrics and Weight Watchers) as refreshing, warm and inviting yet sophisticated and colorful and spatially designed for leisurely shopping her ever changing inventory of wonderfully selected women's separates to satisfy the varied tastes of the just as varied clientel.
Linda's merchandise reflects her concentration on quality craftmanship, unique details and affordable pricing.
Linda herself is usually the one to greet you upon your entry into the store and to offer her friendly yet knowledgeable assistance should you need it. (I love the fact that you don't have to redress and leave the beautifully decorated dressing rooms to hunt for a clerk, and the keen eye of the store owner and operator as well as her assistants' are very skilled at bringing you just that perfect little garment to try on that you might not have even considered that you will probably end up purchasing.
There is always a sale at Linda's because in fact she always has plenty of markdowns and a large clearance section in the rear of the store, (where they continue to be marked down, and it is not uncommon to find a real treat for 5 and 10 dollars!) but be warned that you should not hold out for something you like in the front of the store to be moved to the back before you buy because 9 times out of 10 it will be gone shortly afrer you leave it behind. If you love it, someone else will too. I have learned my lesson and as a result I own a large array of some of Linda's best offerings.
Many of her items are one of a kind, sized small to 1X ,and she carries samples as well that usually come in size 8 only, but most importantly, DON'T LET THE SIZE LABLES DETER YOU. YOU WILL FIND THAT SOME SMALLS ACTUALLY FIT A LARGE, SO do yourself a favor and hold up the garments to see if you might actually be able to fit them. I have some smalls in my possession that fit me when I was a size 14!
Linda believes women should look good no matter what size they currently are and should not wait for that last 10 pounds or so to drop before shopping for new clothes. Purchase for now or later. You can always have your clothes altered if you need to later, right?
Items to keep on the look out for at Linda's are:
Stylish coordinated separates especially capris
Embellished denim
Fascinating jackets that can be worn yearround
Her winter collections that are my favorites and truly the creme de la creme
Because new items are always being added, don't pass up a familiar rack assuming it is just the same stuff as yesterday because it usually has added pieces that were not there before and sometimes these additions are even better.
My advice: Shop often to get first pick because when it's gone it's gone, and if you don't have the time to do the whole store, ask what's new and you will get to experience that superior personal service Linda's Apparel store is well reknowned for!!!
