I moved to McAllen a little over a year ago and immediately started looking for a place to practice Martial Arts. After browsing several dojos my heart settled on this place, and I've been with Senseis Guerra ever sense.

Although small, this dojo has so much to offer. It's called a Traditional Karate-do, which it is, as the main art practiced is a very traditional Okinawan style of Karate - Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan. However, within these classes they also offer a lot of self defense (you can even bring your own what-ifs and the class will walk through them together), some Jie jitsu / general ground training, and Weapons (for only a little extra a month)!!!

I've just recently started Weapons (Kobudo) and it's been a blast! They train students in use of the Bo, Nunchaku, Sai, Tonfa, Kama, and Eku. I've only started with the first three so far and I've learned so much.

It's definitely a dojo worth looking into if you enjoy personable instructors, easy-going environment, but lots of learning and a great workout!
