I made an appointment with Dr. Effron on July 1, 2011 for Aug. 15th, 2011 at 2:10pm. I had no reason to believe my appointment was cancelled. I received no confirmation call from the office, and certainly did not cancel the appointment. I drove the hour to get to the Anaheim office and arrived at 1:51pm. At 2:07pm I was informed by a very uncaring and condesending office worker that they didn't have me on the schedule. That my appointmen had been cancelled. I assured her that I did not cancel nor received any calls but the best that she could do was to ""try and fit me in"" as if she were doing me a favor when it was their fault! She said it would be 45 minutes. Because it is a 2 hour round trip to that office, I decided to wait even though I was furious. After and hour, I told them I was leaving. It was becoming obvious that she was going to make me wait as long as possible. It would be different if it was my fault, but the fault was all on the office and I was being punished for their incompetence. After I got home, I received and email from the office manager saying that she confirmed I was not on the call list to confirm appointments and said I could reschedule. I would not waste my time again to go back there and would not recommend them to anyone. Ever.

I made an appt to have 2 cysts removed. I confirmed that this would be performed at this appt and that I didn't want to have to return for a second appt. I also called ahead the day of the appt to see if she was running on time, to which the office worker said yes. I waited over 1 1/2 hrs. Dr Effron rushed in and without my permission burns a few sunspots off my face and told me I would have to schedule each cyst separately for $300 per procedure. I was charged $200 for the visit. When I protested and told her what I had prearranged, she yelled at me and told me ""she was the doctor around here."" In my opinion the staff act fearful as if they are verbally abused. I made an appt at Dr. Applebaum on Tustin Ave. What a difference. He appreciated my business treated me like a valued patient. He removed both cysts without making me come back. He also rmoved a few skin tags all for under $200. AVOID THIS RUDE AND INCOMPETENT DR EFFRON! PS She also talked me into her sun screen product which doesn't work. She claims that all other products out there are shams but hers. What arrogance!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Rude doctor, staff and they lie

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Effron and very happy with her products especially the effronmd line. If you look at the ingredients there are no fragrances and no paraben to any of her products. Also Dr. Effron has a 30 day return policy on her products no questions asked. I have used her eye products and anti-aging products with GREAT results.\r
\r
Dr. Effron always offers samples-discount cards when a prescription is given out. Any time I have had a concern of any sort, Dr. Effron has been more than happy to work me in immediatley in either office.\r
\r
Dr. Effron is direct in her approach and is VERY result oriented. What you see is what you get.\r
\r
I have seen other Dermatologist due to some wait times, however not getting the results needed so I continue to go back to Dr. Effron. \r
\r
I would not trust anyone else for my cosmetic Botox, fillers and I have had great success with hair laser treatment too.\r
\r
If you want it done right...see Dr. Effron

I can't say enough about this place. I'm a beauty editor, and I was going to write a review on Dr. Effron for my column. Now I'm afraid that if I print my experience with her, she might be removed from practice or something. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but Dr. Effron is someone I will never forget.\r
\r
I went in to clear my skin after a season's worth of beauty samples left me looking sub par. She destroyed my face. I booked the first appt of the day each time I visited, and still had to wait every single time. And she knew I was a beauty editor, and there to write a review on her! Imagine how you'll be treated! Once, after 45 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. The staff told me she had a procedure ahead of me, two consultations, and then she'd get to me (i.e., another hour). I was livid. I have Rosacea, so you could see my anger in my face ;-) \r
\r
I gave her three months to help me. I had a handful of appointments to try to fix the problem she caused at the last appointment. Each time I saw her, it was for about a minute each. Basically I attended 1-minute lectures on what she knows about the incorrect diagnosis she gave me. Then she'd leave and her nurse would write down everything she said, and THAT was when I had time to ask a question. I was blown away! And all her nurses would say is, ""you'll have to ask Dr. Effron next time you're in."" She pushes her cheap product line with a no-refund policy, won't suggest anything comparable over the counter, and kept prescribing me skin-stripping pricey acidic products to rid me of acne I didn't have. I aged at least 10 years in these two months. I have deep wrinkles on my forehead, nose, and around my eyes, that were non-existant before. I took it like a champ and hung in there, because she's supposed to have experience, and I figured this was all part of her plan.\r
\r
Her products made me feel like I had severe sunburn on my face. My face peeled, cracked, and BLED. I woke up on fire in the middle of the night, and several times I left meetings to ICE my face. She said this was normal, but to try one of her other products. Yes people, she was aware of all of this.\r
\r
I tried every product she had, because that was her solution. After my last visit with her, I pinched my cheek and the SKIN STAYED THAT WAY. I'm 29 years old and haven't been in the sun in 10 years. My skin used to be beautiful....just three months ago....\r
\r
Immediately I began looking for a dermatologist I used 10 years ago, who I feared was no longer practicing, because she was pregnant the last time I saw her. She is! She's in Tustin, and her name is Dr. Said. I made a rush appointment and explained what happened, and by the end of the day I had relief. I slept through the entire night. The next day, I had some glow back. And the most beautiful part....my new products can be purchased at CVS (La Rochey something - same ones Amber Valetta uses). AND, Dr. Said doesn't look a day older than the last time I saw her. That says a lot.\r
\r
I am still fighting the wrinkles and damage Dr. Effron did to me, which may even hurt my career as a beauty editor. I never ever leave negative reviews for anybody, because I believe in Karma. But, I won't be able to live with myself if someone just like me, some trusting fool who didn't do enough research, sees Dr. Effron without being warned first. \r
\r
Dr. Effron and her products are the worst thing I've ever exposed my body to. STAY AWAY. Do your research!!!

Pros: Close to my house

Cons: Too many to list - I am fighting to REPAIR WHAT SHE DID

Finally my husband and I said we're never going to this Dr. again. They don't respect the patients' time; concerns or questions. Very condesending attitude toward questions, as if ""How dare YOU (lowly patient) ask me a question!!"" \r
\r
From the freezing room temperatures where you are put to wait sometimes over an hour (and they know this, since they get complaints from the patients) to the freezing personalities (unless you're a cute guy, then the nurses seem to gush). The entire office acts as if the patients are a necessary evil. At first, I thought they were all just having a bad day, but EVERY day with them is a bad day.\r
\r
I also have a problem with the constant pushing of her ""private label"" products. They act as if ""aging skin"" is their speciality, but I have yet to have any good results with their products or lasers. My skin has turned out raw and sore (and I am a very high compliancy patient). \r
\r
Personally, I'm a professional and expect to be treated like one. I do not have ONE doctor that expects their patients to wait as long as she does. And I go to doctors that are extremely busy and good at their job -- they just (gasp) respect their patients, unlike Dr. Effron's office. \r
\r
Well, this is one less patient (actually two, including my husband) that will be waiting an hour in her waiting room!

Treated my mate for the wrong thing. Many creams and pain later we asked our friends for another Dr.. Went to him, he emitted he could not help and give us a referral! Now their ok, but still some scares from the prolonged, wrong treatment

Very caring, very honest, very passionate, and very result driven. If you are looking for answers, Dr. Effron is the one for you. She detected my skin cancer, and I am on the road to recovery. In addition, she worked with me in a time when I was financially strapped. Her products work great, especially her facial firming. Also I was pleased with my cosmetic filler results.\r
Thank you again.

Two sides to every story..\r
\r
Beauty editor could not be more wrong... All of Dr. Effrons effronmd products are paraben free and fragrance free so you will not have any reactions.\r
\r
In addition, if you are not satified with ANYTHING after you see Dr. Effron, she will offer you an immediate work into her schedule at either office.\r
\r
Dr. Effron suggests products and you have a choice to purchase the product or NOT purchase the product. Dr. Effron also offers a 30 days return if you are not satified with her product.\r
\r
I think it sad when people take Dr. Effrons directness as a personal attack. Dr. Effron is result oriented and has helped 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations of family members in the OC area.\r
\r
My family of 5 will continue to see Dr. Effron for we have had nothing but wonderful results from Dr. Effron.

I saw Dr. Effron many many years ago for my cystic acne. She was very nice and spent time with you, but I do recall long waits at her office. Also, it seemed like every time I went to her office, I came home with more and more products to add to my regime. It got pretty ridiculous. Plus, I could never go out after an appointment. She was pretty aggressive with my acne. She would poke at a cyst with a needle to either aspirate it or inject it with steroids, which hurt a lot. After the torture, I would go home with a huge gauze bandage on my face. One time she even scarred me (a small deep pit). Just to clarify, my face isn't broken out all over the place, but I would get 2-3 painful cysts, and she never once talked about oral treatments. I eventually went to a different doctor. I think my skin was irritated from all the topical ointments she had me on, and the new doctor put me on an oral antibiotic which had the best results I had ever gotten.

You know why Dr. Effron is so busy? Because she's awesome. Sure you may have to wait an hour or two for an office visit but so what? I like an older female dermatologist because it make me think of my cranky grandmother who was an excellent role model in my life. I got a bruise from my Botox but she went in deep and it took well. She doesn't offer tattoo removal just FYI but I like her for botox.
