I'm hugely disappointed, actually disgusted, with this firm. I was President of the Co-Op Board that hired them to manage our building 7 years ago. Over those 7 years they have established a firm pattern of unresponsiveness, rarely returning phone calls, and they are very, very slow to address shareholder issues of all kinds. I will not be speaking for myself alone when I say it is a rare event for a shareholder to get a person on the phone at their office, or a return phone call if you leave a message, no matter the issue. You have to have the principal's personal cell phone to get anyone from this company on the phone. And even when you do, issues are rarely addressed.

Most aggravating to me is that my maintenance checks routinely go missing, and/or are not cashed until after the due date, whereupon they attach false late fees. I will not be the first to complain about that either. For a solid year, after this chronic loss of checks became intolerable, I drove 5 miles to their office once a month to deliver the checks by hand. And then, they refuse to sign for an envelope. Their front desk people apparently have standing orders not to sign for anything. When that grew old, I began sending the maintenance checks by certified mail at a cost of about $5/month. These are rejected, and then sit unclaimed in the post office for months at a time. They are currently carrying approximately 3 arbitrary, unexplained fees on my bill since November of 2013 that do not belong there and have ignored 3 certified letters questioning them. The same certified letters demand action or answers on multiple outstanding issues.... equally ignored.

In 2008 they reported to IRS that they had not received property tax payments from me, sparking an IRS notice and a few months of difficulty thereafter. The way our maintenance bills are written, it is impossible to not pay the property taxes. Property taxes are an integrated part of the maintenance charge, not even listed as a line item that can be discerned from other charges on your bill. They cannot be unpaid.

Also disappointing to me was the contrast between how they represented themselves in our initial interview as a strong, shareholder-friendly firm, tough on enforcement in quality of life matters, and the reality which is that they do little to advocate for shareholders in issues of any type.

There are just a few of a multitude of issues I have experienced with this firm. The long story short is that they have been extremely unprofessional, unresponsive, disorganized, and very, very disappointing. If I were still on that board, I would push to fire them.
