My 1 year lease is coming up and I can't wait to get out of this place. \r\n\r\nFirst, it is impossible to get someone on the phone at the leasing office. After calling for days, at different times, and leaving messages, I received no answer. I finally spoke to the corporate office. THE CORPORATE OFFICE COULDN'T GET THEM ON THE PHONE. I finally got a call from them, but only after the corporate office tracked someone down.\r\n\r\nSecond, don't let the security gates fool you. Ask the leasing office about crime and they will tell you that crime is everywhere. True, but break-ins are a regular occurrence at Gables. The only people the gates keep out are the tenants, because they are often broken and won't open. Traffic backs up while we wait for someone from the office to open them manually. The office hired a security guy to drive around at night, but he rides around in a truck with a bright blinking yellow light on the roof. All that does is alert the theives that security is coming.\r\n\r\nThird, the complex doesn't feel bad at all about swindling tenants out of money. Getting a 2nd security card to use on the gates, gym, etc. costs $35 -- NON REFUNDABLE. I would have no problem paying $35, because I know that I will return the card when I leave. But the $35 is non-refundable. This place uses every opportunity possible to charge tenants more.\r\n\r\nFourth, realize that moving trucks can not enter the parking deck. The brilliant people who designed the parking decks (in both the old and new phase) did not make the ceilings high enough to allow moving trucks. Some buildings have elevators, which helps, but you still have to move your things up one elevator ride at a time. Some buildings don't even have elevators, so you must move your things up flights of stairs.\r\n\r\nI could go on.... but really, seriously consider looking elsewhere for an apartment. This place has been a waste of time and money.
