At one point or another we all need computer repair help and I am no different. I found myself in need at the worst possible moment. In the middle night, when everything is closed and the night before a report is due. I called Geek Squad online support for help and was charged for the $199 virus removal service. They connected to my pc and attempted to remove the problem. After a couple of hours and a whole lot of coffee and nail biting they call me back and say there is nothing they can do. This time, the guy I spoke to had a heavy accent and seemed to be calling from overseas. And long with this and the fact they said the virus is too embedded to be removed without causing further damage and system instability. I get off the disappointing phone call and am still sweating because this report is 35% of my overall grade in this course and I absolutely had to have this done in the morning. I run a quick Google search for a solution when I find SecureRemoteSupport[dot]com who provides online services and have a No Fix No Pay guarantee. Wow that would be nice if Geek Squad offered the same promise. Within an hour they had diagnosed the virus and had removed it completely for $105. And best of all, I didnt lose any of my work and my operating system was completely repaired. Apparently the Geek Squad isnt as good at their job as secureremotesupport[dot]com is. I really appreciate their diligence on fixing my issue and suggest others think twice before contacting Geek Squad to fix their computer.

\r\nGeek Squad is all about upselling and money.\r\nI wonder when they will realize that if they dont start paying attention to the CUSTOMER they will eventually lose all business.\r\nPreforming mediocre services to consumers expecting top notch computer repairs will only get so far, and after awhile they will lose all their customers thus losing a large precentage of the money they make.\r\nI went to them to have some horrible sypware removed and trusted they had at least an ounce of consideration for the customer.\r\nThe guy who came out to see my computer was over an hour late to my house for the appointment.\r\nNow, I dont have all the time in the world to sit around and wait, if I wanted an appointment at 3pm I wouldnt have made one for 1:30pm.\r\nAfter reading reviews, I learned I should of be satisfied he showed up at all. \r\nThen after two hours of twirking and tinkering, he assured me the problem was solved and ""that's $487!""\r\nExcuse me, WHAT?\r\nFor the sake of avoiding problems (and getting my kids dinner) I paid the guy and sent him on his way.\r\nI was IRATE to see later that my computer was running so slowly I could have swore it was from the stone age.\r\nWhat did this guy DO?!\r\n\r\nCalling the store the next day I basically got a ""tough luck"" from the supervisior.\r\n\r\nNever again will I go to these guys.\r\nFor anything. Ever.\r\n\r\nSince then, I came across a company called Secure Remote Support who handles all the same issues as the Geek Squad and at a fraction of the price.\r\nI was sold on their company when they got my computer running perfectly in a little over an hour.\r\nThey were wonderful.\r\nI will refer them to anyone from here on out - if you dont want to be ripped off, and want a well runing, secure computer call these guys!\r\nwww.SecureRemoteSupport(dot)com\r\n
