I was quite surprised and disappointed by what I found on arrival to La Piele Spa. Many people have suggested the atmosphere was relaxing, well decorated, clean, pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately, this is not at all what I found there. The location is extremely small; a store front window, is the only window. The front of the store has an approximately 3 ft. wide aisle where there is a small display rack of products for sale and an appointment desk area. The wall on which the desk is located, is the wall that separates the 1st of two rooms for facial treatments. Paper thin walls allow all sounds to be easily heard from either side of wall. This wall also ensures no other natural light into the small and stuffy rental space, which consists of a narrow hall with the two doors, one for each entrance to the two 10" x 10' rooms for treatment behind the desk area. The shop is not well kept or clean and gives a sleazy feeling. This is a definite problem for a "spa", an area where you really want to feel it has been cleaned and is
above all, Sanitary! The owner Michelle displays a very disinterested attitude and does not seem in any way, to be personally warm or caring in terms of customer relations. Again, another big miss for a Spa. With little to no greeting skills, helpful directions, or any sense of guidance for clients, you may feel a little unwelcomed in this environment. An environment where you are supposed to know which room to go to, how to get ready and basically be on your own; above all, don't bother the self engrossed owner, Michelle. There seems to be only one other person working there,(sometimes) and not much getting accomplished; i.e. clean and folder towels, water in the water fountain, no beverage of any sort available, two tiny chairs (great if you are a 5 year old) squeezed in the front of entrance doorway. That is it! Dark, dirty and dreary! No, I would not recommend! p.s. There are several other very good locations, i.e. The Skin Clinic, E.Nthpt., Cactus Salons, etc. Look around - It is Worth It!
