My husband and I contacted R&W last summer when we began having cooling issues. We were told two things: that our system, which had been replaced in 2011 by another contractor, had been installed improperly -- "backwards" was the term they used--and that, as a result, we were losing substantial amounts of coolant. We asked R&W for a full evaluation of our system, and were advised that we replace existing units, "reinstall" the outdoor air handlers, and install a PVC pipe from the drip pan in our attic and onto the roof. We did this at a cost of $15,000, and while the company assured us that this would resolve all our problems, it was the beginning of much bigger nightmare. Our brand new system is STILL leaking coolant and when we contacted Ross & Witmer, the company refused to repair the problem and told us that we couldn't "prove" that they had done the work to our system. We've had to hire another company to come behind R&W to repair their work--at a cost of $1800. If you have the time and are willing to stand over their team and videotape them while they work on your system, you might be ok. But if you're looking for a company that stands behind its work, you should look elsewhere.
