plays lots of cult films  4 Star Rating - Very good

I used to live a block away from this theater, so I know if quite well. Every weekend they play an older midnight movie ...anything from "Evil Dead" to "The Goonies." They usually play films that are only playing on a few screens in the country, so it is always kind of cool to see some of the films there that not many people will have the opportunity to see until they are released on video. The prices are a bit steep for a non-glitzy theater, but part of what you are paying for is the experience you won't receive at the bigger cineplex theaters. I'd highly recommend checking out a flick at the Rialto.

PROS: plays movies you won't see at the local multiplex
CONS: movies are very interactive, so lots of yelling at the screen

Flash from the past  4 Star Rating - Very good

This is a fun theatre to go to. It's easy to picture what it was like in the 50th. New theatres are nothing like this one. It could use a face lift on the outside, but over all it's a fun time.

Great Theater/Poor Sound  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I'd see movies at this wonderful old movie theater more often were it not for the poor sound quality. They present first-run art films (primarily) in their single screen theater and it's a shame to have the experience diminished by the sound system.

Large Historic One-Screen Theatre  4 Star Rating - Very good

This theatre isn't overly comfortable or new feeling. The picture and sound quality leave something to be desired. The movie choice is limited to the one screen. But there's something fun about seeing a movie the way they used to be seen, before the megaplexes took over. Definitely worth checking out.

4 Star Rating - Very good

Fun historic theatre. Plays more unusual movies -not usually crowded. Saturdays at midnight they show old movies. Interesting people go there too. Parking is a challenge. The shopping center next door does not allow theatre parking so you have to find somewhere on the street. Lots of restaurants nearby so it's a great dinner & a movie place.

Cute and quaint - here's one theatre that's not throwing in the towel to megaplexes. They're still single screen. Who knows how long their business model will last, but it seems they appeal to the romantics in all of us.
