The 1st time I went here was in 1997 with a Vietnamese friend I knew since Jr. High School. He was working at the LA County building over there on Fremont Ave. so this place was close by.

The food was good and there were quite a bit of options on the menus. I went back here a couple more times after that. Then on 2007 I went here again with a friend I knew since High School, but have not come back again.

I usually avoid these Vietnamese place, unless a friend insisted on coming. For the reason why, see the links below.

Or for the Vietnamese in details, see pg.26-28 of the link below

And if you want a personal perspective on Vietnamese see video below

In addition, when you go to these Vietnamese restaurants you don't know if it is a Communist establishment or not. But this one has all the profile of a communist establishment, which is another reason for me to avoid beside from the links above.

And the Communists were able to give Americans a new anal hole during the Vietnam war. But I would think Americans have enough pride not to let the Communists ream us from behind in America.

If you know about these communist, then you would know what I am talking about when I say this fit the profile of a Communist establishment.

If you don't mind about all these items on the link above and don't care about Communists, but just want some good Vietnamese food, then this is a place to go and get it.

Update 5/19/2013

Now you have to worry about Arsenic poisoning from all the rice products such as the Rice noodle in the Pho and the Rice Vermicelli. See the link below for the Consumer Report Magazine Online version of the article on Arsenic in Rice.

your typical vietnamese restaurant but a little bigger, it may look eerily dark from the outside but don't let that stop you bc their food is reasonable and pretty good.

I like pho 79. the pho is pretty good. most pho restaurants tend to lack customer service so this restaurant is average. the prices are pretty good but are getting higher.

This is one of the best Pho places I've been to. They don't just serve Pho but have many other dishes on their menu like eggrolls, rice platters, wraps, etc. The decor isn't that nice and is rather hole in the wallish but it's known for it's food not it's decor. They're busy most of the time but the wait isn't that bad. I would recommend the Pho Tai which is very good.
