A good place to hang out on a nice day

by Jesus D. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,939

This is so much fun to go to and it has a great location, right in the fairfax high parking lot. Like others have said, it's often hard to get parking (I'ver often found myself walking from blocks away) but if you circle long enough you can usually get a decent spot when someone else leaves. I've actually made some pretty good finds there and have ended up flipping them for extra money online. In addition, it's a cool place to take a date, to spend some time in a laid back environment where you can make jokes to one another about the weird assortment of stuff.

PROS: Cheap Admission, Weird Stuff, Good Times
CONS: Parking is hard to find

Way to spend your sunday morning...

by Adriana L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,689

This is a really big swap meet and you should come with a few hours to spare. The admission is cheap and hours worth of entertainment! The event is held in a high school parking lot and has so many different things to buy from food to furniture. If you look hard enough you can find some very interesting things. Parking is difficult but not impossible, just show up earlier.

Not the best place for flea market finds

by Chris H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,199

This is not the best place to go in LA for flea markets. If you are interested in doing this kind of antique hunting, the Rose Bowl Flea Market is far superior in both size and items offered. Even though we're in walking distance, we would rather spend Sunday at the Hollywood farmer's market than here.

Very cool flea market!

by Richard C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,168

I think this might be the only flea market in L.A., or at least in the Hollywood area. I have never seen any other of its kind. Parking is definitely hard to find around in that area. But I think its just fun to go and look at all the interesting stuff. But its rare to actually find something I wanted to buy. I did buy food there, but thats about it.

PROS: Cool place to go eye-shopping
CONS: Parking

Melrose Trading Post

by Kaitlin S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,789

The Melrose Trading Post is a flea market with a number of vendors selling all kinds of stuff from clothing to furniture to food. It's located in the Fairfax High School parking lot and they do have an admission fee. I have only been here a couple of times and have found some good deals on some books and an antique chair.

Sometimes a good deal....

by Faith L. | insider Insider | Rank: 24,447

Once in a while I find a good deal here but most often, I walk away empty handed. Some of the places are just junk shops selling pieces of crap for way more than they are worth. Others have some good stuff but deals and finds are few and far between. Sometimes I find books on ebay cheaper and in better condition that here. It's a nice way to spend an hour on Sunday but if you're actually looking for some finds, try PCC or the Rose Bowl.

A great spot for bargain shopping. They have a an array of used, new, and vintage clothing. A place to find unique of a kind clothing and outfits. To be trendy, funky, and create a new style.

I don't think this place could be any cooler!! it's held on sunday's in the fairfax highschool parking lot and it's a HUGH flea market with almost anything you could possibly want to find...this place is devoted to artists and new clothing designers(although you'll see old ones in there too) it's pretty much a huge vintage store and there's also other good stuff the lemon-roasted almonds are a steal at four packs for $10. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for seniors and students and free for children 12 and under. It's totally worth making the trip on Sunday morning! opens at I believe 8am
