I just moved to LA and was impressed with the turnout at a recent rock concert I went to at the Wiltern. Apparently rocks not dead out here yet-- That is until their security guards came in and annihilated everyones good time. I have been to countless concerts over the years, and I HAVE NEVER been babysat by security guards in the pit before. They completely ruined my first LA concert, we weren't allowed to do anything! Their No moshing, No crowd Surfing, No fun rules have NO PLACE AT A ROCK CONCERT!! Have they ever hosted a rock show before, or was this their first time? THIS IS THE WORST VENUE IVE EVER BEEN TO AND I WILL NEVER BE BACK- I dont care who is playing. NO ONE will continue to go to shows at the Wiltern if they are not having fun, which was the general consensus of everyone I talked to that night. THEY WILL BE THE DEATH OF ROCK! They need to go back to hosting bullsh!t concerts like Nsync or something.

I usually never write reviews, but my experience at the Wiltern was so awful that it has compelled me to do so. I went to see Ratatat live, and everyone on staff that night had a terrible attitude. The security was being rude, the guy that checked my ID was being disrespectful, and then when I was at the bar, the bartender was a total dick. I bought drinks from him two times, and on the second time, he commented on how he noticed I hadn't given him a tip the first time ( the drinks were $9 a piece). I was truly amazed that he would make a comment like that. I tried to talk to the manager, and the head of security wouldn't allow me to speak to him. All in all, one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Do not go there unless it is your only option. @#%$ the Wiltern!

This is an absolute gem of a place to watch a concert, it is small and intinmate. General admission is standing, so wear comfortable shoes. If a band you like comes and plays here, I guarantee you'll be glad you came to watch. I absolutely recommend it!!

I've been to this place what seems a hundred times, and it's one of my favorite venues to see a concert. First off, I LOVE the layout. Instead of just one big floor like a lot of general admission venues, the floor is divided up into sections, one higher than the next so you get a good view of the stage. They also limit the pit to the first 200 people so you feel really safe. (It doesn't really protect you from people who want to mosh anyway though). Unfortunately, they take away your ticket and give you wristbands before you enter the pit, but you can get your ticket stub back after the show near the main entrance/exit. I've also been up the mezzanine level and you still get a pretty good view up there. Security isn't as strict as other venues. They generall allow cameras inside unless the artists says otherwise. The art-deco architecture also adds class to the place. I've usually been able to find street parking around the venue even on a Friday and Saturday night so you save yourself the $10 parking if you're willing to walk a couple blocks.

This old restored theatre is a beautiful place to enjoy a concert. The facilities are clean, well kept and they feel safe. Arrive early so that you can see the gorgeous inside.
Also it is better to be in the balcony than stuck in the rear of the bottom floor, it hangs over some of the bottom seats. You can see all types of music here, be prepared to pay for parking.

This is the place to be and it's where you can view some great artist. I went here one time and I'm waiting for the opportunity to go again. I can't begin to tell you how much of a dream it was to watch a favorite artist of mine perform there. Check it out for sure.

Every seat is a good seat, it is a small venue that carrys pretty good shows. The sound system is great. They are not expensive, plenty of parking at a good rate. Comfortable seating. Lots of name acts play there, it is kinda like the Apollo of Los Angeles. I have seen Linda Ronstadt, Kitaroo, and many others there. Plenty of good restaurants to go to afterwards in the neighboorhood.

Only been a few times, but I really enjoyed a show I saw there early this year. We sat up in the seats, and the floor is standing room only. Its a "old fashion" theatre. I prefered the seating to standing but I suppose it depends on what show you areseeing. Parking is across the street and like anywhere in LA, expect to pay.

I've only been there once, but I really liked it. There was safe parking nearby (for about $10/car... not bad). It was also clean and well-kept. I thought the acoustics were good, and the interior is really beautiful (especially the ceiling). It'snot too big, so you don't feel like you're in some huge ampitheater. I recommend staying out of the pit and standing behind the first railing... the perfect spot to see everything and not be stretching to peek over the tall person who inevitably stands in front of you.

The Wiltern is a fantastic place to see a concert. Not too big, amazing acoustics, and one of the most amazing and nostalgic designs of any venue in Los Angeles. Tiered sections mean there are a lot of good places to watch, but get in line early for the best seats. I've seen several shows there now and each one has been memorable.

Love this venue. It's intimate and elegant. The sound is decent for an older building, but the classic art-deco decor is stunning. Glad to know they can keep a building standing in L.A. for more than 10 years.
