WHY THEATRES ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS
by Tom C.
The Pacific at the Paseo used to be really good when they first opened. They even served Pinks chili dogs, which was reason enough for us to go.
But they have slipped greatly. The hot dogs are now the generic kind, and even at weekend matinees they are all sold out ("we're told to make on 4-5 at a time", said one employee.
If theatres are losing money, why are the snack choices so limited?
And thge kids they hire move in s-l-o-w motion.
The soft drink and condiment stand is usually a mess. I hate jalapeno peppers, but even worse is finding them mixed in with the hot dog relish.
Ugh!It's just giant labels scoops and open vats, which I'm sure violates some kind of health dept. standard.
The soft drink dispensers are usually out of ise, and some of the drinks taste like they are being mixed by 2 years olds behind the walls.
If you can get past all of this, the picture quality and sound are quite good.
PROS: Location, Picture, Sound
CONS: Really bad service, lousy snacks

Theater is short handed for weekday matinees. There are long lines for tickets and concessions, and the drink dispensers are empty or there is nothing to put on your hot dog and pop corn.
PROS: Spaceous theaters. Clean and comfortable.
CONS: Short on staff, empty food dispensers. Hard to get help.

Located just east of Old Town Pasadena, you can count on them to play all your latest releases. With stadium seating and a great sound system, this newer theatre is the place to go.

This theatre is relatively new, as it opened when the outdoor mall opened. They have comfy armrests that raise up and those seats that fit your form when you sit down on them. The lines can be long tho, so get there early!

Wonderful and new paseo theater is well kept and has true stadium seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Parking is a bit of a challenge but well worth it.
PROS: Clean, spacious seats, stadium seating. Consessions are well maintained with plenty of help.
CONS: Plan to spend an extra 30 minutes just for parking and the 2 hour validation never actually covers the time you spend in the movie. Add an exta 2-3$.

The biggest screen in the area. The place had a big screen before all those new stadium seating places started to pop-up.

Other than having to pay for parking, I really like this theatre. It has a lot of screens and is almost always playing the new releases along with a few that have been out for awhile but you just haven't had a chance to see. They have lots of show times and even with a crowd outside you can get your tickets pretty quickly. The theatres are always clean and there is plenty of seating.

This is one of the newer theaters in Pasadena. Located in the middle of the Paseo Colorado shopping center, this theater is amongst tons of restaurants and stores. It's a great place for a movie and dinner date. However, the admission prices are pretty expensive. The theater itself is extremely clean, the sound and picture quality are quite good, and it has stadium seating in every theater.

Great stadium style seating and clean chairs. Your shoes will not stick to the floor when you walk into the theater.
The downfalls of this place is that its teeny bopper haven and its expensive!! The upside its close to coldstone, a great ice creamplace and many restaraunts.
Paseo often shoes the new releases on many screens and I have never experienced a sold out show. You can pre buy tickets or use an automated ticket seller near the door.
I enjoy this theater because its clean and easyto get to. Its an easy place to meet folks who want to grab dinner, coffee, ice cream before or after a movie. And you might even get in a little shopping at Mac.

I've seen very expensive Broadway-type musicals in the main theater and smaller ...
