Costco

by Jessica D. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,789

This place has basically everything that you could really ever need. Food, electronics, great bakery - it's super convenient, parking is great. The lines can move a little slow, especially if you're there on a weekend, but overall, it's a great place to shop. The only bummer is you have to join and pay their membership fee, but if you're a bulk buyer, it's worth it.

Costco is a great way to save money. They have tons of stuff in bulk... food, home supplies, office supplies, pharmacy, photo, optical, etc. It's about $40 to join, but you usually make that back (and more) as long as you shop there. They also have the cheapest gas in town.

Costcos are great, but sometimes a treck to get there, find parking and get out. The prices are great on almost everything. The only downside (other than venturing out to one) is the large quantities if you are buying for one or two. I definintely look at Costco first for most purchases and have been pleasantly surprised by their clothing selection. They are also great for a quick meal if you're in the area (Pizza and Chicken ceasar salads are their specialty at the take out window).

Costco has very good prices on items that are of consistently high quality. Great food items, but you'll need to buy in bulk. You also need to pay for a membership in order to shop here, but if you come to Costco regularly your savings will more thanmake up for the cost of the membership. They have a limited selection of clothes, books, video games, etc. They also have some of the lowest gas prices you'll find in LA, but if you want gas you have to pay with a card: no cash. Costco gets 4 stars instead of 5 because of long lines at the register, full parking lot, and lots of delays on the streets near it in Burbank, which combine to add a lot of time to your otherwise positive shopping experience.

Like all Costcos, this one is huge, and also like all Costcos, the prices are great if they have what you're looking for.

Membership costs $45 for one year (I believe), and definitely worth it, especially if you're shopping for a family. They alsohave cheap gas, but be prepared to wait in a probably long line.

I got several Christmas gifts here for great prices. Their clothing prices are outstanding, and many of the nicer button-up shirts I own were purchased there. They also have great prices on CDs and DVDs. If, by chance, you're in the market for a 60-inch plasma HD display, they've got those too!

Who doesn't like Costco? This store has something for everyone. It's a great place to buy food if you're buying in bulk - for a party, event or large family. The items are really well priced and the food is high quality. They've got a great selection of discounted books, clothes, and other items and accessories. You've got to be willing to buy in bulk when you go to Costco, and you've got to be willing to fight crowds for a parking spot. The lines tend to look longer than they actually taketo get through. Costco also has a jewelry and electronics department, both of which seem well-liked.
